Vale Farm Cottages are traditional barns that have been converted into cosy cottages combining character with modern living. Nestled deep in the heart of Wales within the picturesque Hamlet of Lower Chapel, these beautiful cottages are surrounded by scenery that could not fail to impress.
Situated on the Edge of the Brecon Beacons amongst beautiful countryside on a traditional working farm which is close to Brecon, Builth Wells, Hay on Wye, Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Located on a traditional working farm with cows and sheep. We also have a small play area for children with swings and a slide, plus a large grassed area for playing ball games.
Vale Farm Cottages cater from 4- 11 guests, they all feature original oak beams in all the rooms and have spacious living rooms with French doors opening onto views of Pan-y-Van and the Black mountains in a farm court yard setting, ideal for al fresco dining or a barbeque. A great location to meet up with family and friends, large enough to cater for groups and business trips and with the optionally of having The Coppice function room.
The property was spacious and the views were excellent. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and comfortable. We had a pleasant stay and the location's views were the main highlight.
We stayed here with my Arab stallion as we were participating in the ManVHorse. It was such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for both us humans and for Sandy (horse), we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others, as well as stay there again if we are in the area again.
Our stay was fantastic. We visited as a group from Clipex Fencing and Stockyards for the Royal Welsh Show and stayed in the Vale Rowen, which was comfortable, well equipped, and set in the beautiful surroundings.
It was such a relaxing base, our only regret was not having more time to properly soak up the peace and tranquility of the setting. The location was perfect for the show, and our cottage had a hot tub, which was lovely to unwind in after a long day.
My husband and I stayed on for a couple of extra days after the show ended, just to enjoy more of the beautiful surroundings, the c...more
This is the third time we have stayed at Vale cottages. This time we were in a smaller cottage but it had everything we needed.
Danielle is so helpful and even supplied additional bedding for the sofa after our children decided they couldn’t share a bed!
Great location. We were with a party of 14 and the space was great.
This was our third visit to Vale Farm Cottages and it did not disappoint. Vale Farm is within easy driving distance of Brecon for shopping (and ice cream) and also for visitors to the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show in Builth Wells. Accommodation was clean and welcoming and had everything we needed within the cottage. Tom and Danielle were welcoming and friendly a usual. This time we stayed in Vale Oak. It was nice to have the outside space but an outside table and chairs would be nice for eating outside. We have already booked for next year. Highly recommend.
The lady who runs the property was friendly and welcoming, and the views were lovely. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with our stay overall.
On arrival, we were told the toilet flush was missing and hadn’t been fixed, so we had to manually push down two prongs inside the toilet with our fingers to flush it. The shower also kept cutting out and would then come back on boiling hot. The rooms looked quite tired and the sofas were stained. The TV remote also had dead batteries, which wasn’t great as there are no local shops nearby.
We booked for a romantic weekend but couldn’t really enj...more
