Very well appointed accommodation in a beautiful location with far-reaching views. We hope to return soon.
We loved the countryside, very peaceful, lovely walks . Lodges were well equipped and comfortable. Hot tubs were great. Perfect for our family gathering.
Fabulous views from the barn. Fully equipped and comfortable living conditions in a stunning location. The Smart TV was very welcome and the host kept in touch with us. It was a very high quality accommodation and we look forward to returning. The welcome basket was a nice touch.
The standard of accommodation here at bake house cottage is excellent. The grounds are picturesque, lots to explore and very quiet. We have enjoyed playing tennis, building dens, walking through the orchard, bbqs in the evening. The cottage is well located to explore Dorset we made the most of some good weather with beach days out at Lyme Regis and Knoll beach at Swanage as well as some more local walks. Sherborne is a beautiful town, we enjoyed the ice cream shop, looking at the Abbey and a meal out at Tamborino Gold. The Fox Inn, Mark Hix restaurant is also about 20 minutes away providing gr...more
The weather may have been terrible the week we stayed but that didn't matter. Magna Cottage is beautiful. So idyllic and rural just perfect to escape to. Everything about the cottage was excellent. This was our third visit and we very much look forward to coming back.
Palomino cottage is part of a group of farm cottages. It is very peaceful, set on farmland a short walk from the coast in pretty gardens. It is well maintained, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Ideal for relaxing and enjoying the many scenic walks from the property.
Our first visit and it certainly will not be our last. Download Piggeries exceeded our expectations in every way. Perfect hosts, location and superb accommodation.
This is a great little cottage with a lovely garden, we had a fab week in Dorset. Very nicely renovated inside.
This was our second visit to Hoods and this time for a longer break of a week. The design of the conversion is well done and the attention to detail in making the property a lovely place for a break stands out. It is contemporary and comfortable with extensive views out over the countryside from the main living area. The property is located half way between the coast to the south and the higher hills of Dorset to the north and you will need a car to reach the main attractions and the facilities of Bridport. However, with the views and the comfort, there is no rush to leave the house! We have ...more
Lovely comfortable clean holiday house in a quiet rural area. The house was equipped with everything we needed and the welcome hamper was very thoughtful and filled with luxury items. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Church Cottage is simply outstanding, the location, decor and facilities made for a great holiday. Cattistock is a beautiful village with very friendly locals, beautiful buildings and lovely walks. We will definitely be returning next year and hopefully the pub will be back open by then!
The barn has been beautifully restored and renovated, pleasure to enjoy such craftsmanship. Having enjoyed a stay as well at Furlongs, we anticipated a well designed and well managed property. Merry Hill is exactly that, a pleasure to stay in. And thanks for the hamper, well thought out and helpful.
Absolutely spotless cottage. Loads of attention to detail everything you want. Owners very helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Was amazed at attention to detail in cottage.
Had to ask for a cork opener. Within miniutes of texting the owner, a cork screw was presented. That's what i call customer service.
Had to call for the engineer, as I did last year, as Aga was not hot enough to cook on even after specifically checking twice before arrival to make sure it was working and up to heat. The Aga is turned off for six months during the summer and should have been serviced before relighting in October. It had been turned on and the thermostat set to 6 which is the wrong way to turn it on, The service engineer you sent was very competent and sorted the problem out. Perhaps he should service the Aga before it is turned in next October 2023. Otherwise the property was as lovely and a...more
What a super cabin in a super location. Everything was beautifully clean and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
The property was beautiful & very well equipped. There was a small patio area available to use which was a bonus. The owners greeted us on arrival & made sure everything was perfect for our stay, including an amazing welcome pack of local produce. The property is in the owners gardens, which are truly amazing & you have a lovely view of these from the full height windows. Situated off the road, the location is very peaceful, only interrupted by beautiful birdsong. Very peaceful location in a lovely village which has incredible history. We would definitely recommend.
We were delighted with the very spacious accommodation of the highest standard. Plenty of room for the wide age range of children we had, to run about and play. Also the children enjoyed a range of puzzles games books left in the accommodation. The huge tv screen was a hit and large relaxation areas . We could all be quite independent of each other if we wanted. The generous ‘welcome pack’ was most welcome and enjoyed. A fabulous holiday enjoyed by all! One thing, we did initially find it hard to find and drove around in circles. A thick hedge was covering one signpost to the farm!
The White House is truly fabulous. It is a lovely large property, with big spacious and airy rooms, lots of space to spread out and not feel on top of each other. Wonderful garden, although with the weather at the time we went, unfortunately no opportunity to make use of it. The house is so well stocked; everything has been thought about, even down to the provision of umbrellas and walking poles in the hallway, and a great Nespresso coffee machine with spare pods. The welcome hamper of goods was fantastic, especially with everything sourced from the local area. There really could not be a...more
Excellent location away from the madding crowds. Scary narrow lanes to start with but you get used to reversing. Tothery cottage is superb, well laid out and renovated to a very high spec and standard. The welcome pack had all the essentials and the Dorset coffee company medium roast is excellent. Found the local bakery as well. Cottage well suited as a base to get to the beaches and inland attractions. Bridget is warm and welcoming giving us a run down of the facilities and controls. Relaxing and enjoyable week away, first time to Dorset but it will not be the last. Thank you.
Our second stay at Evergreen didn’t disappoint, such a superbly stocked cottage with everything you need and amazing welcome hamper. The owners even put some bubbly on ice to welcome us back. Great location for exploring the New Forest and it’s surroundings. Still much more to see so will probably be back at some point.
Beautiful property in lovely location for walking. Property is very comfortable with high end finishes. Would suggest replacing some of white plates and a couple more cooking knives would be helpful. Would definitely return.
Very cosy, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Very friendly and helpful landlady. Very easy check-in and check-out. We will come again.
House was excellent, the scenery was amazing and even the sun shone for us. The local pub provided a delicious roast and the local playground was a hit with the younger members of the family.
Its not easy to find a comfortable, good quality residence for an extended family of 20 to stay at but this exceeded our expectations! Having also booked the property next door, we had lots of space in a home away from home. Facilities are excellent and we had a wonderful BBQ on a really high quality gas barbecue burner in the Courtyard which was a really good location - enclosed so younger children were safe yet spacious for bigger ones and the adults. Delightful decoration within and an excellent nights sleep in comfortable beds. With wonderful views who could ask for more! We'll be back...more
Larch Barn is an idyllic place for a holiday. All home comforts and more. Beautiful garden, surrounded by trees, sheep in the adjacent field, lots of very cute bunnies, owls hooting at night but so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of lovely places to visit. Steve, the owner, was friendly and helpful. The farm shop next door has everything you need and the welcome hamper was gorgeous. Thoroughly recommend this cottage.
A lovely, cosy period cottage in a great location for exploring Dorset. Very well equipped and beautiful soft furnishings. Enjoyed our stay - thank you.
Fern and it’s neighbouring eco-lodges have been beautifully designed by the owners – they are spacious, pretty, wonderfully clean and kitted out with the highest-quality fittings. The kitchen fittings in particular are great, as are the wood-burning stove and hot tub! Fern does need a couple of new frying pans – at present there is only one, the Teflon coating of which flakes off into your food. The pictures on the Dorset Hideaways website don’t do justice to the beauty of the views and the surrounding area. Both the garden and house have amazing, completely unobstructed views for miles an...more
We had a fabulous weekend here. The cottage is stunning with everything you could ever need. The contact with both Dorset Hideaways and the owner were easy and quick. The setting is peaceful but with a bit of activity to watch out the window. Highly recommend staying here.
It is difficult to put into words how perfect this house and the service provided by the company and the cleaners/housekeepers was. It was with trepidation that we took our grown up children, our grandson and our dog away for Christmas in the middle of Covid but my goodness it was our best decision of the year. The house is beautiful, so well equipped with quality equipment and lots and lots of everything you need. Nothing was too much trouble , they answered my endless questions and when we arrived there was even a beautifully decorated real Christmas tree and an amazing hamper to greet us. ...more
We’ve stayed in many holiday homes but this was the first that was clean and everything worked in the house. We especially enjoyed the dining table under the vine in the garden. All of the bedrooms were spacious and the many bathrooms gave privacy and convenience to each couple. The housekeeper was extremely helpful and welcoming. We would love to return but I am not sure we can afford it. Like all holiday homes in the UK this year, we found the cost of rental in the school holidays extremely high. I hope all British holiday homes will return to pre COVID prices next year!
The house was very comfortable and large. A well equipped kitchen and very good living space. Perfect for a large group. The garden was ideal for children with space to run around. The location was excellent and within walking distance of Dorchester and also close to the river and some lovely walks.
Beautifully decorated house in a fabulous position, walkable to Sherbourne town centre, restaurants and the railway station. A very generous ‘hamper’ was provided with all the essentials for our 4 day stay. Wonderfully comfortable bed with stunning decor, the only ‘slight’ down-side was the position of the tv in the kitchen (I had to crane my head to watch it, but it was a minor thing). Had a superb meal at the Eastbury Hotel, well worth a visit.
We stayed for 3 nights at Berwick. The property is very comfortable and smartly decorated; the owners have provided lots of maps and suggestions for places to visit and eat. We arrived by car at night and finding the entrance to the loading area to leave bags at the property was a bit difficult; there is no parking by the property but we parked at Westfield Close car park, a short walk away - £7.10 for the entire stay. Wimborne itself is lovely, definitely recommend 10 Bottles wine bar nearly on the doorstep.
A wonderful location with stunning views and sunsets. Great base from which to explore Dorset. Lovely seating areas outside with easy access to public footpaths. The kids loved the garden - lots of space for games. Spacious interior and perfectly set up, however.... I was dismayed to read so many reviews that mentioned the poor state of the sofas as far back as 2018 - the problem is still there and really does need sorting when paying in excess of £2000 for a week. The lounge rug was also in desperate need of a clean. We would love to go back, a wonderful holiday and perfect location - sham...more
A large group of us stayed here to celebrate a friend's special Birthday. The house is magnificent. It is so large it is easy to get lost. There were plenty of bathrooms in relation to the bedrooms. Everything you could need was provided in the kitchen, including two kettles and toasters and three ovens! We came in October so just missed the pool but we made use of the tennis courts. I would highly recommend this place to groups of friends or very large family gatherings. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our second visit to Laundry Cottage and found it as well-kept and comfortable as before. Out only niggle was the fact that we couldn’t use the patio doors to the garden. Previously we’d enjoyed opening up the garden room to sit in; we were told in advance that the key had been lost but it was disappointing this had not been resolved for our visit. Otherwise very happy here. A mirror in the master bedroom would be useful!
We stayed in Little Winters Cottage for a week at the end of May. The property is wonderful, very clean with everything needed for a self catering stay. The narrow lanes around the area are a little daunting at first but it didn’t take long to get used to. A great base to visit Dorset and Devon. We had a fantastic week and would definitely book again.
A very enjoyable holiday. Great location and the garden with football net; trampoline and other facilities was a real treat. Blessed with excellent weather which meant we could eat in the garden every night. Well equipped with toys and other entertainment for the family. We had such a fun time there. Thank you. Advertised as a house where dogs were not allowed but we found two dog bowls on the floor in the kitchen and a dog basket complete with dog hairs. Just a warning for anyone with a dog allergy. It would be helpful to be given instructions to turn the arger down as it gives out a ...more
Deborah is an excellent host. Very charming and thoughtful The property forms part of an interesting estate and has been thoroughly modernised.
Very comfortable home! Location perfect to get to Dorchester . Perfect home away from home. Very neat and clean has everything to make a perfect stay. Lovely garden to relax in.
Relaxing holiday in a peaceful location. If I have a criticism it would be that windows need cleaning, nearly all had cobwebs and dead flies in them
A beautiful old cottage, and the staff on the estate were very helpful. Just disappointed to find the stove which was included in the details had been removed and replaced with a television- so against the character of the cottage
Amazing location, on the edge of Wimborne market town and yet when in the cottage feels so quiet and peaceful. Every detail has been thought of and it is the most lovely, well furnished spacious cottage. We and our friends were so impressed with the cottage and hope to return at some time.
A really pleasant stay in this characterful old school house. The location and setting were fantastic - the dog was secure and loved the freedom of the walled garden. The house was very comfortable and warm - everything that was needed for a stay was catered for, including a lovely welcome basket of local goodies. The kitchen had everything you could need if you wanted to cater for yourselves and lots of space for everyone. Close to many nice places - not to far for coast or town and being near the border of 3 counties gave us plenty of options. Would highly recommend for a stay
We stayed here as a group in July 2021. The house is lovely and well located for getting out and about to surrounding areas like Lulworth Cove. Our host Morag was lovely and very helpful both in advance and during our stay and we loved being in such a beautiful setting next to Came House. One point to note is that a couple of guests in our group did find the bedrooms very light so worth bringing eye masks or travel blinds if you are a light sleeper.
The helpful host has provided a charming place to stay that opens the doors to many area attractions.
Our party of four, had a really nice vacation in this charming cottage & village, the cottage is well equipped with everything you need, & is very comfortable, it has quite a few low doorways & beams so mind yer head, There is a nice pub just across the way, where nice sunsets over the hills can be enjoyed, whilst sampling a pint of Dorset Hays cider And for a very very nice meal try the "Marquis of lorne " about a 2 minute drive, or 15 minute walk away, though take a torch if your walking! The location is a bit remote, but this did not matter to us as it was all part of the fun, we came b...more
A pleasant cottage with many quirky features in a peaceful location. Very pleased to find such a comprehensive welcome hamper. Not the easiest of stairs to manouvre suitcases. The log burner was very welcome as the evenings were getting cooler. Good supply of logs provided, although I did take my own. the only downside with the logs supplied was that they had been split too small so they burnt far too fast making them at £10 a bag an expensive commodity. we didn't use the electric heating as the log burner heated the whole of the cottage. The cottage is well located for the coast and other a...more
We had a fantastic week exploring Dorset and Garden cottage was the idea base. It was stocked with everything you might need during your stay and the welcome hamper was a lovely little touch. John & Sally were extremely welcoming, and we enjoyed our little visits from Luca the dog. Upwey is super cute. We enjoyed breakfast and afternoon cakes at the Wishing Well tea rooms and had a delightful evening meal at The Ship Inn. Both were friendly and warm places and we are looking forward to our next visit already.
All the family had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage situated in a wonderful village. The cottage backs onto fields and is a lovely place to unwind & relax. Super pub 10mins walk The Fox, farm shop & village store opposite the pub - all good !!
Super cottage that was perfect escape post lockdown. House was very clean and well furnished and catered for all our needs . Wonderful location for walking and just recharging batteries .
...in beautiful countryside and easy reach of the coast. Only problem - especially for older people - was the lack of any bannister or other support on the staircase. .
We absolutely loved our holiday at the barn. There were three generations of us and it was perfect for everyone.
Picturesque rural setting with walks and animals to see (we even had a bat swoop in through the window!). Rope swings in the trees. Stunning lodge with plenty of space for groups or families, indoors and outdoors. Lovely welcome basket and friendly owners. We would return but possibly not with the grandparents next time. The wood floors and stairs were very slippery and there were a few falls during our stay. My elderly father-in-law found the stairs hard so preferred to stick to the ground floor. My 5 year old ended up in A&E with a minor head injury from slipping down the bottom steps and fa...more
This cottage is very nice and the customer service is very good. Only let down by the walk to and from your vehicle, fine for most but if you have difficulty in walking it's not. Garden has some very steep steps and could do with a tidy up. Only minor things as I would go there again.
This is beautiful place to stay .A nice quiet location. Clean, tidy .Great views Secure garden for the dog . Would definitely recommend
A well equipped comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. The garden was spacious and secure and ideal for a dog.
If you like quirky and unusual then this house would suit you. The accommodation is a good size, we were a party of eleven adults across three generations and we were all comfortable. The welcome hamper, games room and hot tub made everyone very happy. The big disappointment was the hassle we received from the woman running the neighbouring café….. she verbally complained to us about the parking the whole holiday, even asking us when we were leaving and eventually putting a note on our vehicle informing us that it was a private car park. We were informed on booking that there was ample spa...more
Only two of us staying and two friends for lunch one day. Loved the location and cottagey feel of the place. Wonderful to have free run of the wood pile as used the woodburner each evening, Found TV set up a bit complicated and had to replace batteries in one of the remote controls to stand any chance of turning it on! Lounge was a great spot as sun went down over the fields.
Wonderful impromptu find. Very spacious apartment with everything one needed. Two loos and a proper Bath, a bonus indeed. Good size accommodation and will be looking to book again. Weymouth is fab.
We had a fantastic week staying at Horsehill cottage … the location is perfect the cottage so well stocked and equipped. Great walks from the doorstep …. Very dog friendly… and a fire pit too !! Thank you
Had several issues with the property during our stay which I emailed complaining about on my return home. As yet, I have not heard anything from them, not even an acknowledgment email. I have requested compensation for spoiling our weekend, which was not cheap
Beautiful well equipped cottage in tranquil location, ideal for walks in the countryside or even to the beach. Kids especially loved the swimming pool and games shed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beach View. Unfortunately the shower cubicle in the yellow bedroom did not appear to have been well cleaned if at all. We especially enjoyed the hamper etc. left for us and the spectacular views.
This was the fourth time I stayed at the flat and I enjoyed my stay as much as I did the previous times. It feels like my home away from home. I've been coming to Weymouth regularly as my partner lived there, in fact his flat was in Crescent Street, behind number 119 The Esplanade where the Belvidere 4 is located. Sadly my partner died in July 2020. Since then I travel to Weymouth to visit his grave and see our friends. The first time I did so was in October 2020. I had booked Belvidere 4 and when I walked in I knew straightaway that I had found a place where I would feel comfortable. The kitc...more
Location perfect and cottage had everything you would need but a little disappointed with cleanliness and privacy. Would probably stay at one of the other bigger cottages on the complex but not this one again.
