This lovingly refurbished property offers an idyllic country retreat just a short drive from Shipston-on-Stour, complete with a contemporary open plan kitchen/diner and cosy sitting room to relax around the wood burner.

Our stay at Brook Cottage was a winter warmer, the cottage itself is delightfully decorated and very wholesome.

We loved utilising the log fire, the smart TV and comfy sofa. The arrival gifts of eggs, milk, bread and orange juice was a lovely touch from the owners.

The management team were always on call to answer any queries or questions about the facilities, which was very handy! We had some issues with the bath dripping through the ceiling, and a plumber was organised to visit the following day to sort it out.

The location of the cottage is fantastic, you are within a 25min drive from most of the idyllic Cotswold villages and points of interest. The bakery and butchers in Lower Brailes is a must visit! The pastries are to die for, and the sausages at the butchers are heavenly. We even popped in before our departure to gather some goodies to take home!

The only minor difficulties we had were with the oven, a few of the knobs are loose, so it’s difficult to tell which part of the oven is on and at what temperature, this meant we had to cook most things on the hob.

The only recommendations I would advise would be the possibility of an outdoor tap or a bowl to wash muddy paws after country walks, and blind in the bathroom for some privacy as we found that unless steamed up you could see straight through the windows.

We had a wonderful week stay, and would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and family!

We stayed for 2 nights at the cottage and loved how cosy and calming the cottage was. We loved that there was milk, orange juice and eggs in the fridge. That was a lovely touch.

The cottage was absolutely perfect and we loved our stay. The beds and sofa were comfortable and it was a perfect base for us to explore the cotswolds.

Would highly recommend.

Had the best stay at Brook Cottage; I didn't want to leave! The cottage is perfect and renovated to a very high standard and my son and I settled in right away as it really felt like home with such a cosy and inviting living room, and dining area. The kitchen was absolutely fabulous and was equipped with everything you could possible want. It was such a lovely touch that bread, milk, juice and eggs were left for us to enjoy. The bedrooms were very comfortable and I had the best sleep of my life while staying there, with such a good mattress and wonderful crisp bed linens and pillows. The stairs up are a bit steep but this is expected in a cottage and adds to the wonderful charm. My son is 6ft 2in and the lower ceiling in some places were not a problem for him.
Brook Cottage provided a wonderful respite for my son and I while preparing him for his stay in Oxford.
I highly recommend this glorious cottage!

A beautiful cottage, they had thought of absolutely everything to ensure a very comfortable stay. The cottage was clean and the garden was very well kept and catches the evening sun. Ideal location for some peace and quiet and a nice country walk. We had a wonderful stay, and would definitely return!

Me and my partner went for a 5 day break, and we're over the moon with the cottage, location, condition and comfort of the Home. The location is perfect, 20 minutes away from most things, but the bakery in the village is amazing!
The Owners left us eggs, orange juice, bread and milk, which was a lovely touch, thank you!
We'd love to stay at the property again and felt we were away from home when we left. We loved our break, and that's a complete credit to the property and the owners. We would definitely, 100%, stay again!

Really enjoyed our stay at Brook Cottage.
Very clean and cosy, nice treat the have bread, eggs, butter, milk and orange juice on arrival.
Beds are extremely comfortable, now wanting a new mattress at home !!
Little village is great, must visit the butchers and bakers and the George Inn garden is great with a dog.
As mentioned in booking, stairs are very very steep, hand rail position is really good.
Only things to point for us is only 2 outside chairs (2 were in carport but were broken) so not great for 4 adults to sit outside and enjoy the garden and sunshine. Only 1 wine glass, so we ended up buying some more glasses!
Booklet stated coffee pod starter pack and bin bags were left, but unfortunately not.
Otherwise a great stay.

We had a lovely stay at Brook Cottage. It has a large kitchen with all the amenities you need, a lovely lounge area and great bedrooms with a comfortable bed. The shower had plenty of pressure and was great temperature. We enjoyed having dinners outside in the beautiful cottage garden. It’s close to many picturesque Cotswolds villages.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at Brook Cottage on our way home from Cornwall. Beautiful little cottage, with a nice little sun trap garden at the side. We even spotted the goldfish in the well/pond at the back door. Good quality bedding (master bedroom bed was quite hard though) and lovely good quality towels. Welcome goodies very much appreciated. Not far to some lovely cotswold villages. Lower Brailles is a small quiet village , we had a drink at the local pub The George Inn , which has a nice beer garden. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage had everything you needed the welcome was very good. The downstairs toilet seat was broken and some of the mugs and glasses had to be washed before we could use them.

We enjoyed our stay.

As part of the booking conditions, we do ask that guests report any issues during their stay in order to try and give the owner or their property manager a fair opportunity to rectify any issues. A contact telephone number and email address are provided in the welcome email in case of such an event. The property manager has confirmed that the toilet seat had come loose, and it has now been tightened. We are sorry to hear that you had to wash some of the glasses or mugs before use. Nice and spacious, with a great kitchen and welcome goodies. Lovely garden and enough parkingspace. Village is lovely too, with a butcher and a bakery. Bed is comfortabel, shower too and the woodburner works great. Cottage is authentic and sweet. We enjoyed our stay greatly.

Quiet comfortable country cottage

The cottage was easy to find with good car parking. Overall it was excellent, well equipped and very comfortable. Small shops nearby and an excellent Pub, The George, which provided good food.
We had to phone the maintenance company on arrival as a couple of light bulbs were out, one of the controls on the cooker was off and one of the two ovens wasn't working. However, the bulbs were replaced the following day and the cooker problems were noted by the maintenance person, as they didn't impact us.
We found the shower very difficult to regulate, as most of the time the water was too hot, with no temperature failsafe.
The garden gate had to be tied shut, the bolt was broken off, to make the garden child and dog proof!
In addition, after paying an additional £40 for our pet dog, we were disappointed to find there were no dog bowls in the property, this we found very unusual and believe that if pets are welcome then certain minimum items should be provided.
Luckily none of this impacted on our short break and we had an enjoyable time.

We visited Brook Cottage for a few nights and felt it was a good base for us and met all of our expectations. The photos and descriptions on the website were accurate and everything worked, was clean and pretty well equipped.

Beautifully decorated and really well equipped. Very comfy beds. Lots of storage. Pub, butcher, bakery & shop 3 minutes walk. Parking spaces a bonus. Had a query on arrival and it was easy to make contact for help.

The cottage was excellent - well-equipped, warm and comfortable. Just a bit of mould in bathroom. Close to local pub as indicated when we booked - but disappointingly pub was not open for food on night we arrived. Not your fault but annoying.
The niggle: charging double what other companies ask for our dog and not discounting the weekly rate for a stay of only three nights. That's mean in my opinion.
And while the log fire was appreciated leaving a box with only two matches was also a bit stingy.

We came here on our honeymoon with our 12 year old son to spend a hopefully lovely and relaxing break in the beautiful Cotswolds. We arrived to our cottage to find it in excellent condition, with welcome gifts of milk, orange juice and eggs greatly appreciated. The cottage itself was perfectly clean, extremely well equipped and was just what we had hoped for. The location was perfect, quiet small village with good local amenities and within easy driving distance of major Cotswolds attractions. All in all, a brilliant break, would highly recommend and will certainly look to book with StayCotswold again.

Beautiful cottage, amazing beds. Couple of niggles but nothing that impacted our stay… great welcome pack, perfect for breakfast. Beds were amazingly, secondary glazing meant we had no issues with road noise. The stairs are really narrow - not suitable for those with limited mobility.

Stay Cotswolds were great to deal with. Customer service & communication was excellent

information in file could be better eg what recycling bin is for what ( different areas have different colours) , plus wi-fi password incorrect (N missing) Was correct on blackboard.
No sign for Brook cottage upon arriving - would be helpful if it was on the wall next to the Hurdles
Had problem with TV - couldn’t get a lot of the normal channels
Would have liked a radio (radio on the problem TV so didnt even try that) plus a bread bin.
Saying all that it was a lovely cottage - one of the best we have stayed in - quiet, comfortable and well equipped.
Lovely welcome pack upon arrival.

Lovely cosy home that we instantly felt at home in. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised to learn it was an Emma mattress! Really impressed as we don’t normally sleep very well when away from our bed. Unfortunately, even though I have two log burners at home, I just couldn’t get it to work properly, but we were able to boost the heating when we were chilly. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for letting us stay on your beautiful home
