The Byres is a really nice spacious barn conversion with a large back yard and everything you could hope for. We had a good time here and we felt right at home.

What was a little bit of let down was it's cleanliness: many, many dead (and alive) flies, cobwebs and not properly cleaned kitchen utensils. Good thing I brought my own kitchen towels so I could dry off all that I self-pre-washed (only a hand towel was provided). Another thing was the lack of action when 1 of the toilets continued to keep running water. This lasted for over 12 hours... The water lines in the building seem to be non-insulated so they make a lot of noise when water is flowing, which made the night rather sleepless. The initial response from the central contact in the early morning was fast, but after that no further contact or update was retrieved/possible. After waiting for hours, I finally had a look myself as we were now unsure if we should stay and wait or we could go out. The slightest touch to one of the air pressure lines seemed to have resolved the issue thankfully. After I informed the central contact, there was no further reply or anything, which felt a bit cold. The last things I would mention is that the couch is rather uncomfortable sagged and if your tall/taller: the beds are rather short. 180/190cm max. The beds are comfortable though!

Overall we had a very pleasant stay, but considering all things the price/value isn't really on par. For this amount of money it wouldn't hurt to improve on at least proper cleaning and customer response skills.

Beautiful cottage in a fab village with a great pub.
Some really good walks around the village.
Good location for picking up all the tourist hot spots in the Cotswolds.
Stayed at the end of September and the weather was cool and rainy however the cottage was lovely and warm with good heating nicely furnished and very comfortable beds.
Would recommend!

Beautiful conversion but could have been cleaner!
Talc on the bathroom floor,
Dusty in the lounge
Kitchen bin dirty on arrival
Loo brush broken and dirty
No info on how to put the heating on

The property manager has very high standards which reflects on the ratings for this property. We have passed your feedback onto the property manager for her feedback. She is disappointed to know that you did not contact her throughout your stay as these cleanliness issues could have been easily rectified. The property manager promptly responded to your request for guidance on the heating. She has informed us that after your departure the shower door was found to be broken and the broken toilet brush was thrown into the garden, we do ask our guests to inform the property manager of any breakages during their stay. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Cotswolds soon.

This is a wonderful cottage in a wonderful quiet private space. Lovely gardens to sit out in. The cottage is very clean and well equipped. Located in a wonderful location in the Cotswolds. We had a comfortable stay and were very pleased with the accommodation.

We have recently returned from a midweek break at The Byres and it was superb. We have always stayed at high end accommodation and this didn’t disappoint. We have been coming to The Cotswolds for years and specifically chose a barn conversion, as it is all on one level and we have a son with additional needs. Everything about the interior of this beautiful holiday home was just perfect for us. We were able to relax and unwind knowing that our son was safe and we could watch over him constantly in the open plan design. The garden was beautifully manicured and my wife and I were able to enjoy a glass of wine, whilst our children played happily in the sunshine amongst the beautiful plants and wildlife. The owner was so kind and genuine and nothing was too much trouble. Knowing that they were nearby helped put our mind at ease if we were to encounter any problems at all. Everything ran smoothly and we were very blessed with the weather. A car for us was essential, to enable us to visit the beautiful areas that we are familiar with, Broadway, Blockley, Chipping Campden, Adam Hensons Farm Park, Cirencester to name a few! We packed a lot in! Overall a beautiful stay in a peaceful location and within easy reach by car of some wonderful places. We were hoping to make it to the local pub nearby but sadly the time went way too quickly…. Never mind! We will do that next time. We would thoroughly recommend The Byres. It’s beautiful both on the outside and the inside and the pictures on Stay Cotswolds website are a true reflection of all it has to offer. Thank you for giving us a lovely break from our very busy lives.

I stayed in this lovely accommodation for 4 nights with my elderly mum. It was perfect for her mobility issues-all on one level, no steps, walk-in shower. The furniture and furnishings are gorgeous lots of nice little touches, like the Plum & Ashby reed diffusers, which smell amazing. The kitchen is well equipped, although we ate out most of the time. (The Queen Elizabeth I pub is just around the corner and fully deserves the good reviews it gets). The beds are comfy and towels fluffy. We met the owners, who are very nice and very helpful. The weather stopped us from sitting in the beautiful garden, but we admired it from the comfort of the sofa! The property (which has parking) is not far from Broadway and the other pretty villages. My only tiny gripe, was that when I booked it, I asked for the twin beds to be pushed together to make a king, but they weren't. I emailed the Property Manager twice before we went away, and left a message on their answerphone, requesting a call back, but I never heard anything. I called StayCotswold, who were very helpful and said they would investigate the matter. 5* stay, we had a great time and I would definitely stay here again.

Had a midweek break at The Byres, beautiful cottage, comfy furniture, very stylish too. Lovely bathrooms, plenty of storage.
The cottage looks out onto beautiful gardens, and a good private driveway. The village of Elmley Castle is small with a pub, village hall ( which had its “market” on when we were there! With local produce) a church and beautiful Cotswold houses. Only four miles or so from Broadway, six from Pershore and Evesham. We have been coming to the Cotswolds for thirty years, and it didn’t disappoint this time.

Loved our weeks stay at The Byres, Elmley Castle, its centrally heated which makes it extremely comfortable.
Also the fact we could do some washing is a great benefit
The Byres is in a quaint little village although no shops only The Queen Elizabeth Arms which serves fabulous food.
You definitely need a car to drive to the scenic towns of the Cotswolds

We loved every minute of our stay at the Byres. The property was clean, comfortable and had a personal feel. The town itself was quiet, but the surroundings were wonderful, with country fields and beautiful landscapes on the doorstep. Hosts were welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. We would really recommend this property, especially at Christmas time when it is beautifully decorated for the festive season! Thank you.
