Lower Barn is perfectly located just off Chipping Norton's high street, within easy reach of its many shops and eateries. With cosy interiors, inviting bedrooms and a relaxing outdoor patio, these features combine to create a true home away from home experience.

The property was very clean, tidy, cosy and comfortable. The beds were very big and comfortable. The bathroom is lovely and quite spacious with enough space for a walk in shower and separate bath. Loved that there were sky windows in the property adding lots of light upstairs. The kitchen was tidy and very well equipped! It was lovely to have tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter and crumpets left for us on arrival. The lounge/dining area was also decorated with a little Christmas tree. It was handy to have the additional loo downstairs. It was great to have a cot-bed and highchair supplied for our baby.

The cottage is quite close to the High Street with supermarkets close by. Chipping Norton was the perfect base to stay at as it did not take long to get to all the other villages we planned to visit. Initially it was difficult to locate the lane and cottage. The alleyway is a tight and narrow drive. It is located between Dickenson Court and the Cushion & Crown Hotel on Albion Street. Pleased there was a designated parking space for the property.

The only issue there was is that the bathroom lock upstairs got jammed when I locked the door. Luckily my husband was able to help unlock the door again. I would be careful with the lock or maybe this needs to be looked at. Also the fact that check-in was late at 5pm, so we ended up staying an extra night.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this cosy cottage and would definitely stay here in the future.

The property is 1 minute away from the high street but is very quiet and comfortable. I would recommend it to friends

Directions provided got me there even if the lane was easily missed first time of asking. The car parking space is tight when somebody is already parked in the one next to it - but it's manageable, just take your time. The Lower Barn is nicely laid out in light colours and feels more spacious than the pictures may suggest. Kitchen is well equipped and it was a nice touch to have a fresh loaf amongst other bits and bobs on arrival. The living area was fine, space for 4 of us and our cockapoo. Downstairs lav was handy, upstairs bathroom nice and spacious. Beds were comfy with nice fresh linen. The whole place was clean and fresh, we were pleased on arrival.

4/5 for customer service and comfort based on firing off a question a few hours before arrival but not getting an answer until the next day (too late by then). The dining chairs could have been more comfortable but they served their purpose and we didn't need to spend much time using them.

All in all, enjoyed our stay, we were pleased with the accommodation and thought it worth the money paid.

This was our second stay at Lower Barn (we promised ourselves in December we would come back in the summer, and thankfully the weather Gods were on our side) Lower Barn is ideally located for visiting numerous towns and villages and would recommend it as a dog friendly place to stay

Really enjoyed our stay in chipping norton, the cottage was in a great location and the cottage was really nice. Not much lounge space but we were out most of the time so didn't really matter, bathroom was lovely and big.

Booking the Lower Barn In Chipping Norton was fairly straightforward through the Stay Coltswolds.
Information was provided prior to arrival and details of who to contact if you had any issues. The accomodation is closely located to the high street of Chipping Norton which has a good selection of shops and places to eat. 

However, we did have some issues during out stay:
An electrical socket in the bedroom is cracked, this is a hazard
The towel rail is off the wall in the downstairs bathroom
There is a hole in wall behind entrance door
And the smoke alarm is so sensitive when cooking (even with extractor fan on and windows open)

A kirkby grip was found in the bed
The sofa was covered in dog hair (seat cushions hadn't been removed and hoovered under) so wouldn't recommend if you are allergic to pets..

The EV charger was not working which was stressful and meant we had to go elsewhere
The car park is really tight (barely any space to turn a car) and the lower barn space is not adequate for 4x4 (its between a wall and another parking space for the Haven)

Thank you, Shona, for your review of Lower Barn. We are delighted to hear that you found the booking process to be straight forward and the property to be in a good location. Thank you for letting us know about the socket in the bedroom this was not something that the property manager was aware of, and this will now be replaced. The towel rail was loose, and this has now been repaired. The hole in the wall behind the entrance door is unfortunately caused by guests banging the door against the wall, a stopper has now been put in place to prevent this and the hole will be filled. The fire alarm is there for your safety and apologies if you found this to be sensitive when cooking, previous guests have not reported this as being an issue. We are sorry that you found a kirby hair grip in the bed, this could have only come from the housekeeper when changing the sheets. The property does accept pets and although the housekeepers try their upmost to remove all traces of any pets, some hair will remain. We also ask guests to keep pets off the furniture so sadly it appears that a previous guest has ignored this. The property manager was sorry to hear that the charger was not working and quickly arranged for you to park in another space on site with access to a working EV Charger. The assigned parking space for Lower Barn can fit a 4x4 in but appreciate it would be tight. We do hope that overall, you enjoyed your time exploring Chipping Norton and the surrounding towns and villages!

Lovely cottage, really well located just off the main street. Big, comfortable beds, gorgeous main bathroom, lovely kitchen and comfortable living/dining area. Big bonus having some outside space, which had the sun all day. Minor quibbles: could do with more hangers and some drawers in the bedrooms, the bathroom is plenty big enough for a walk-in shower but there is only a shower over the bath. Plus the parking is very tricky.

We really enjoyed our stay in lower Barn ,Chipping Norton. The cottage was lovely nicely decorated , spotlessly clean and well equipped.The beds were super comfortable. It was a bit tricky to find the cottage overshot the narrow access road down to the property.
But once located was situated in handy position for the shops / high Street ( through the entry onto the High Street)Even took ourselves off to the Living cinema just a few doors away one evening.
We were equally impressed with Stay Cotswolds , you were attentive and informative . Would definitely use your company again to book a cottage.

The instructions were very helpful. The narrow alleyway was difficult to find and would have been difficult to manoeuvre had there been more cars parked. The bedding and beds were very comfortable and we could not fault it. Thank you for a peleasant stay

We booked this barn as it was dog friendly, a good location, reasonably priced compared to others and looked clean and tidy from the photos - it certainly didn’t disappoint.

It is tucked away down a private driveway with a few others barns making it peaceful and secluded, exactly what we was looking for.

Upon arrival the barn was clean and well presented and definitely gave that home from home feel with an added touch of Cotswolds cosiness.

The bed was super comfy and the bed linen great quality making a good nights sleep.

Although the outside space is a courtyard, it is still plenty for the dogs.

There was concerns over the parking space before arrival due to other reviews as we have a large car (Range Rover if this helps anyone get an idea) but it was absolutely fine, just make sure you turn around first and reverse in, there is plenty of space.

Check-in and check out was so simple and easy.

Location is ideal to get to anywhere with ease and being a 2 min walk from the high street is super convenient.

We would definitely come back here and have recommended Lower Barn to family and friends.

Difficult to find and then tricky parking in the allotted space, but worth it! Very comfortable and tastefully furnished and equipped. Would definitely book again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lower Barn. The house was very clean and had a lovely modern and cosy vibe. It was spacious for the two of us and our dog and well located in a quiet spot just set back from the high street. It’s a short drive away from nearby villages like Moreton-in-the-Marsh and Stow-in-the-Wold etc. We were able to go on two very long dog walks without needing to take the car so it’s in a great position if you like walking. The car parking space was a huge benefit, albeit in a very tight spot, and everything we needed was provided in the kitchen.
