We loved staying at Howgills House and the hot tub was a particular hit! The only v small thing was when in the shower the hot air sucks the curtain in and it sticks on you! Makes it hard to keep the floor dry. Maybe replace with a screen? A drying room would be useful after all those wet walks! The social areas worked really well and it enabled us to spend time with my mum safely. Thanks so much!
It was our 5th stay at Howgills Apartment. As before, we were very happy with service provided. Our apartment was clean, warm and cosy. We had all we needed. Location is brilliant if you like see hills around from morning until evening and if you are walker.
Thanks again for your hospitality at Howgills House. 18 of us stayed at the property, the house is clean and beautifully decorated. The views from the house and hot tub were stunning. We got shopping delivered to the house from asda, and used a local bakery and pizzeria for food over the weekend. I would definitely book again for large groups.
20 of us stayed in March 2026 in what turned out to be an ideal location with the majority of the party split between Cheshire and Edinburgh As the best man I had a remit from the Stag to find a suitable central location for around 20-25 people where everyone could have a chilled weekend and Howgills fitted that bill. What more could a Stag Party want..... a hot tub, games room, single bunk beds over 8 comfortable rooms and 2 industrial sized kitchens for us to make all the food we wanted! Lovely well appointed dog friendly apartment located centrally in Sedbergh. Bed comfortable. Shower hot and powerful. Nice veranda (but not in Nov!). Easy access although would be much easier to unload from the car park? (A gate on the veranda would make a big difference). The property wasnt easily found in the dark - maybe improve directions?
Fire doors prevented flow through the apartment Damp smell in onsuite shower-fan didnt appear to be working Mattress too small for bedframe. Easy to catch toes.uncomfortable getting out of bed We are 2 adults who booked a 2 bedroomed apartment only to find the 2nd bedroom locked and unavailable to us-we left a night early because of this Otherwise apartment comfortable-plenty of crockery/cutlery -spotless everywhere. Nice views of the fells from the sitting area window
This was our first stay at the apartments and found they were in an excellent location with beautiful views. The location was perfect and accommodation was excellent value for money. We received clear instructions about check in/out and found the booking a, simple experience. Will definitely stay again
On our arrival we were given a brief tour of the property. It had absolutely everything we needed to make our short stay thoroughly enjoyable. There was a lot to do whilst hiding from the inclement weather and we kept ourselves entertained without a problem. The beds were very comfortable and everything was super clean - a far cry from the last place we stayed at. We are going to tell all our friends and family about this hidden gem - it’s perfect for big birthday celebrations, team-building trips and hen parties!! Thank you Howgills Barn.

I visit Sedbergh regularly to see friends as I used to live here. I always try to book the apartments as I know how lovely my stay always is. Travelling alone I always feel safe. The apartments have everything I need and are warm and clean. The parking is an added bonus as is the closeness to the shops. Thank you again
We wanted a last minute no frills family room in the middle of nowhere with fantastic walks from the door. We also wanted hot tub access. The rooms were basic but had all you needed. The kitchen was well stocked, spacious and easy to use. The living/dining space was relaxed and again spacious. The hot tub was the highlight due to the views as you soaked. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. For a last minute night away it was a little over priced in my Yorkshire opinion and the hidden dog charge/ hot tub charge wasn't advertised on the website but we thoroughly enjoyed our entire sta...more
