We loved staying at Howgills House and the hot tub was a particular hit! The only v small thing was when in the shower the hot air sucks the curtain in and it sticks on you! Makes it hard to keep the floor dry. Maybe replace with a screen? A drying room would be useful after all those wet walks! The social areas worked really well and it enabled us to spend time with my mum safely. Thanks so much!
We all enjoyed our stay, The apartment was clean and welcoming. The access was straightforward as we checked in late at night. Great location as a base to explore surrounding areas and Lake District.
I could not fault anything. Every communication from the owners and team was great, the house is incredible and the views are breathtaking. Highly recommend staying here! Plenty space for larger groups, each room having its own en-suite is luxury. Double hot tub, Looking out to fields of sheep is the perfect way to start your morning. We all would 100% stay again. We also had a chef (Paul) booked via groupia cook us a lovely 3 course meal which was an amazing addition to our stay.
I've just returned from another amazing weekend away with friends at Howgills Bunk Barn. I have been visiting the barn at least once a year for the last 15 years and it has always been such a great place to stay. The place is always well equipped with everything you might need for a weekend away - plenty of crockery, glasses, towels etc. The drying room is ideal if the weather is less than kind and there is always the option of using the washing machine and tumble drier. The social spaces are well thought out with plenty of seating both indoor and out. The hot tub is a firm favourite with...more
We had a lovely stay in apartment eight. Which is always very spic and span. It’s disabled friendly, which is I have balance problems suits me well. The walk in shower was especially helpful. We enjoyed a walk out and a couple of cycles. The community orchard on the way was fascinating. Sadly you can’t book the weather, but enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. We would thoroughly recommend Howgills Appartments.
The fantastic Howgills Apartments are in the quiet, calm and delightful Bainbridge Road, at just 2 minutes' walk from the town centre of Sedbergh. The apartments are in excellent condition, very comfortable, warm and inviting and come furnished with everything you could wish for, including tea and coffee supplies. The sofas are comfortable, and great for relaxing with a TV provided and there's an excellent kitchen area with large fridge and freezer so you can even "cook at home", buying fresh supplies from the local SPAR supermarket that is also walking distance. The bedrooms upstairs are pr...more
Fire doors prevented flow through the apartment Damp smell in onsuite shower-fan didnt appear to be working Mattress too small for bedframe. Easy to catch toes.uncomfortable getting out of bed We are 2 adults who booked a 2 bedroomed apartment only to find the 2nd bedroom locked and unavailable to us-we left a night early because of this Otherwise apartment comfortable-plenty of crockery/cutlery -spotless everywhere. Nice views of the fells from the sitting area window
Brilliant worth every penny. If ever in the area again with a group I would not look anywhere else. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
On our arrival we were given a brief tour of the property. It had absolutely everything we needed to make our short stay thoroughly enjoyable. There was a lot to do whilst hiding from the inclement weather and we kept ourselves entertained without a problem. The beds were very comfortable and everything was super clean - a far cry from the last place we stayed at. We are going to tell all our friends and family about this hidden gem - it’s perfect for big birthday celebrations, team-building trips and hen parties!! Thank you Howgills Barn.
Great location, thoughtfully presented with really helpful information about the local area. Great to have an outdoor area as well.
We wanted a last minute no frills family room in the middle of nowhere with fantastic walks from the door. We also wanted hot tub access. The rooms were basic but had all you needed. The kitchen was well stocked, spacious and easy to use. The living/dining space was relaxed and again spacious. The hot tub was the highlight due to the views as you soaked. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. For a last minute night away it was a little over priced in my Yorkshire opinion and the hidden dog charge/ hot tub charge wasn't advertised on the website but we thoroughly enjoyed our entire sta...more
