Fires and candles lit every morning. Flowers from the garden on the tables. Relaxed, attentive staff with a genuine love of the house and its history. When you are in Boconnoc it feels like your own home. There is no fussiness or rules.…which is unusual in a house of such magnificence. To have a private house like this opened up with such trust and love is exceptional. Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds are. The Stewardry provided the perfect venue for friends and family to celebrate a very special person’s 80th birthday. In a beautiful setting with plenty of space for a large gathering it fulfilled all our needs and more.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Groom's House. The house was very well appointed, comfortable, elegant and with a wonderful view. The surroundings are quiet and beautiful and the facilities are excellent - games room, tennis court, children's play area. The staff were friendly and efficient. The whole experience was great, and we were thirty minutes away from some nice South Cornwall beaches.
We had a most enjoyable break in the Head Grooms House on Boconnoc Estate. The house was beautifully presented, clean, very comfortable and well equipped. The estate is outstanding, with many superb walks, wonderful gardens particularly in late March when the large variety of magnolia trees are in bloom. To cap all that, the staff that we were fortunate to meet were exceptional. Extremely friendly, helpful and efficient and clearly happy in their employment. Do take advantage of the guided tour should one be available during your stay. We certainly hope we have the opportunity to return....more
The house is lovely,well decorated and furnished,well equipped kitchen,kindly complimentary things left like coffee,tea,milk,local wine,dog treats,freshly picked flowers and organic toiletries.The bedding was sumptuous and the woodburner was all set and ready to be lit. We were lucky in that we've had a run of wet weather but we accidentally timed our stay with a change in all that to frosty morning gs,ck3ar skies and sunshine.Even if it had if been miserable weather we would still have been happy staying indoors though.We took some board games but there are some in residence in the house anyw...more
