Clean, tidy and very comfortable. The cottage is magical, with excellent facilities and utilities, that will make it tempting to stay indoors all day! However the village is worth visiting in itself, and there's some fantastic pubs within walking distance, serving excellent food at an affordable price.
We stayed in the yurt over my birthday weekend. Setbina beautiful, private area, with a stunning meadow to the front of the yurt. The facilities are fantastic, with private shower, toilet and a full kitchen, complete with utensils. During our stay we cooked several meals and the experience was amazing, with the beautiful views from the open kitchen. The yurt itself is beautiful. It's large inside and so comfortable, and the log burner is so great to use! Would definitely stay again!
We enjoyed staying in the Milking Parlour. It was a large beautiful space for two people, but was made cosy with personal touches and cheery decor. The fittings were all of an excellent standard.. We enjoyed the outsides space with its pretty garden border and patio to relax in, watched only by our nearest neighbours of six friendly cows. We found plenty to do and explore.
We can highly recommend The Calf Pens. Very peaceful and magnificent walks directly from the door. Property was very clean and comfortable and everything was to our taste.
A beautiful relaxing space set in a very pretty location. Hosts are wonderful people who do their best to make you feel welcome. Can't wait to visit again in better weather!
One of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. Great location and to watch the peacocks roaming around was just amazing! Very comfortable, clean, and beautiful grounds to walk around. Will definitely be back
We spent a few days at this lovely little cottage. It’s been nicely converted fairly recently and done with flair and thoughtfulness. Any of those little things you may have forgotten you will almost certainly find in a drawer somewhere about the place. The owner has truly thought of everything. We were a tiny bit worried about the car parking, but needn’t have been, we were able to park on the road outside. We chose this place because we know and love Stoke by Nayland. Stayed here for 5 nights after arriving from Australia jet lagged. We couldn’t have been more comfortable. The cottage was presented in immaculate condition and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Best of all, the king bed was super comfortable and the location is extremely quiet, enabling us to recover from our long haul flight very quickly. Kitchen has just about everything you need, lounge room is spacious and comfortable, large TV with Netflix ect and Wi-Fi is fast and reliable. We stayed for 12 nights with 2 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 5. We loved the barn and the owners helped to make the stay a delight. The swimming pool was well used and helped to keep it children entertained. It's a beautiful area and we would not hesitate to return in the future.
Lovely property within walking distance of local amenities and nearby attractions. The cottage was exactly as described and felt very homely. Nayland itself was a great place to stay with plenty of good walks in the vicinity. Charlie from Idyllic was most helpful when I was making our booking.

Duke’s Lodge is just as described on the website. It’s a very old building so expect beams galore, rough plaster and creaking sloping floors! However almost all mod cons are here (apart from a dishwasher). The kitchen is well stocked, the sofas are comfy as are the beds. Quality bedding and towels are a bit of a bonus. The central heating is efficient and the log burner was a welcome treat in early March. The local shop and the nearby farm shop provided all the food and wine we wanted and the Bildeston Crown serves delicious food! ( not cheap but worth every penny!!)
When you drive down to the mill you fall in love with the place it's so picturesque. So much to see in the area great to just relax at the mill walk or drive to historical places. Spoilt for choice when eating out.
Beautiful location. Lovely strolls from the front door. It was great to be able to have a cup of tea in the nicely tended garden when we arrived. The view from the Hayloft was always interesting-over the former walled garden which has a huge water Lilly pond-they were just starting to flower so that was lovely to look at. Handy for getting into Sudbury, Lavenham, Long Melford. Even had a trip to Sutton Hoo which was very worthwhile. Plenty of National Trust properties to see on those rainy days too. Great location in pretty village. Lovely, well-equipped cottage in peaceful location. Perfect base for exploring this beautiful part of Suffolk. Shame the village pub did not serve food during our stay but plenty of others close by.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The place is done up very nicely with great attention to detail. The welcome pack we found was very generous and very much appreciated and enjoyed. The bed is comfortable and bathroom and kitchen in very good condition. Garden area is also very pretty. Surrounding area is beautiful. Highly recommended.
A well equipped and well furnished cottage set within a stunning, idyllic location. The cottage had a lovely back garden (with gorgeous views) which was fenced in for our dog and we were welcome to walk in, and use the walled garden of the estate. The owners of Belchamp were friendly and helpful and respected our privacy. We had a really lovely week spent in the cottage and exploring the surrounding areas.
Enjoyable stay, excellent facilities and good location. Would stay again. Parking is difficult if you have a large car.
I loved the idea of the Silos when I first saw it and it lived up to expectations. Two silos have been converted into a charming holiday home. The rooms are round and well appointed. One living area and a bedroom. They are larger as a result than normal lodge type holiday homes. Set in a picturesque area with mature trees and wide sweeping fields opposite. The local wildlife are plentiful including bunnies and hares and many birds. The owners supply a welcome basket including tea, coffee, milk, cereals, jam and a bottle of wine which was very generous. The Tryst is a gem. This beautifully restored cottage has been thoughtfully and sensitively decorated. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly need and its garden is a beautiful and tranquil place to relax and unwind. The AGA cooker was a particularly wonderful surprise that added to the authenticity and pleasure we had during our stay. Highly recommended.

Lovely airy detached coach house with tasteful furniture and decoration. The house benefits from a large courtyard garden which was a great space although the road was did appear slightly noisy but I think that might be connected to the local haymaking which was in progress during our stay. The property has the benefit of an enclosed orchard which was a wonderful space to exercise the dogs.
We spent 7 nights at the Pump house with our young working cocker Spaniel. Easy to find even in the dark as we arrived very late. The location is perfect plenty of walks from the door step, there is a public footpath which runs through the garden, so you do get walkers passing through. The public footpath will take you to the Crown pub which has a great beer garden and serves very good food. You have everything you need, beds are comfy. Minor comments, a hand towel in the kitchen would be good, the TV is a bit small as it's a fair distance from the sofa. Lastly this is disabled specific, the rugs in the room aare all a trip hazard. Personally I think the barn would be better with no rugs.
This house/cottage is really in the middle of Long Melford. Shops, pubs everything is just around the corner. Tudor cottage is well equipped you'll find everything you need. The garden is very nice and great place to sit. We had a very nice stay and definitely like to come back.
