This was meant to be the weekend of my son's wedding celebration which will now take place next year. So glad that we held on to it so that we could have four nights away from home. Charlie has been so helpful in moving reservations for us and has responded promptly to any email request. Upon arriving, the welcome basket was very much appreciated......as was the big double fridge/freezer as we had our shopping delivered the next morning. The beds were very comfortable....and we quite liked the challenge of trying to get down the stairs without making the floorboards creak! Not sure how the bed...more
This is an absolutely beautiful location and the property was amazing. So full of character and charm. Sympathetically restored but with every modern amenity. Pristinely clean and with every luxury you could expect. Your own private garden but also, the pleasure of looking out on and having access to, the original walled garden, bordered by fruit trees, a rectangular lake, tennis court and stunning peacocks... an absolutely joy. It's located in the heart of the Suffolk countryside with a quaint village church, the hall itself and lovely walks literally on the doorstep. There are also a wealt...more
Excellent location, beautiful views and great walks especially good for our dog who thoroughly enjoyed her walkies right from the doorstep. The Granary is a very pretty and comfortable property with all the facilities & equipment you need for an enjoyable stay. The enclosed outdoor space is good especially if you have dogs or young children and there is table tennis and other games available. The owners were friendly and helpful - in all, a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend
Upon stepping inside Box Valley Cottage we instantly felt relaxed and comfortable. The property was very clean and is finished to a high standard. It feels that a lot of thought and care has gone into the layout and the decor. Add in the rural location and enticing views of Box valley from the back of the property this really was a fantastic location to explore the Dedham Vale Aonb and wider Suffolk area. If you are bringing an energetic dog (like us) the park in the middle of the village is perfect for exercising them as it is almost fully enclosed and of considerable size.
We stayed at Fenwick Cottage for 4 nights. On arrival the cottage was spotlessly clean, a gorgeous welcome basket was provided and there were essentials in the fridge together with tea, coffee and sugar which was lovely since we arrived late evening. Everything we needed was in the cottage We didn’t want to leave and we shall definitely recommend and rebook.
We had a fantastic stay at the Cartlodge, which was well placed for exploring both the Essex and Suffolk coastlines and places of interest (Beth Chatto gardens and Sutton Hoo). The location of the Lodge in the Estate grounds is amazing. It was so lovely to meander through the meadows and also have an immediate safe space for my daughters to keep up their jogging routine in! The decor in the lodge is calm and comfortable. Comfy beds and plenty of wardrobe and other storage space. The welcome pack, email correspondence and information folder felt very personal. Perfect setting for our two dogs who never tired of walking around the estate every morning. The property is charming. The kitchen is lovely & warm with the aga running but not sure how pleasant that would be over the summer months! We really enjoyed our stay, felt at home immediately. Odd things need some tlc but that’s the charm of the place and, given it’s popularity, any maintenance works would be difficult to plan. Well done to Charlie & the team at Idyllic Suffolk - suspect we will be back!
Delighted with Higham Place Lodge - came well up to expectations. Have already re-booked for 2022, but for 12 nights this time.
We stayed for a week with my two dogs. The Coach House was clean and the kitchen was lovely. It is a rather remote setting but in lovely countryside.
