Whites Ground sleeps six. It has south facing views over the Stour Valley, and looks west down a wildflower meadow towards a pond and woodland. There is an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area with wood burner. The kitchen area is large and well equipped. The outside dining table is perfectly placed to enjoy both views and there is a garden which is secure, pretty and well tended.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay - we loved the barn. It had everything we needed, was in a beautiful setting and Lucinda was an extremely helpful host. We are already thinking about booking our next stay.

Really enjoyable stay - generous sized rooms, fully equipped property.
The property was well heated, log burner was a real bonus (& reason why we chose this property)
Great feature having essentials provided - milk, tea bags, sugar, bread
Little touches like having torches available shows a lot of thought has gone into meeting guests needs.
Handy location to get to the local attractions

Rented both properties. Perfect for self catering holiday. We prepared a Christmas dinner. Plenty of saucepans dishes etc.

This is our second time back in Whites Ground. The kids enjoyed it the first time we were here, so we decided to come back again. The location is great the house is beautifully decorated and has a nice cottage feel to it. The views are amazing from cottage.We will be back again.

This was a return stay for us, the 1st about 10yrs ago and the standard was as excellent now as it was then. I was wowed when I arrived as it was even better than I had remembered. We rented both barns. It was cosy yet spacious. High quality furnishings and provisions. Lucinda was an excellent host with fabulous communication…we couldn’t have asked for better. Lots of fun and laughter. Thank you Lucinda and your team, we will return xxx

Our 4th visit to Chisel Barn. We stayed at Whites Ground due to the large garden for our two dogs. On arrival we found the garden to be a lot shorter and not much space for the dogs to run around. This did not spoil the holiday as there are plenty of walks around the farm though the lack of garden would stop us staying in the summer months but ideal for the autumn/winter months.

Thanks very much for your review. I am sorry you and the dogs miss that extra part of the lawn. The view and walks remain lovely as you say. And we built a brick bbq and an extra bit of terrace, plus some new shrubs. I’m currently planting some more daffodils too. We are trying our best to make amends!

We really enjoyed our stay, the property was nicely equipped and comfortable. The countryside was stunning with lots of lovely walks to the village and the local pubs!!!!., a nice restful break.

We booked Whites Ground on the recommendation of my sister who lives locally and was so pleased we did. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcoming committee from the two friendly labradors ! Whites Ground is extremely comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed (and more!) - a real home from home. The welcome pack on arrival was a bonus and much appreciated - even a vase of freshly cut flowers from the garden and freshly picked tomatoes from the greenhouse. Lovely accommodation; very spacious; everything was of high quality; beds were very comfortable; lovely views over the countryside. Lucinda was the perfect host and checked in with us upon arrival to ensure everything was in order for our stay. Would certainly recommend to anyone heading to Dorset.

We hired Whites Ground (WG) and the other 2 cottages for a family wedding week and it worked very well. All cottages are completely independent but WG was very spacious and allowed us all to gather at various points during the 5 days. WG had everything we needed and the views from the back were stunning (and no road noise accompaniment either so incredibly peaceful). Plenty of hot water , internet connection was very fast and the kitchen had all the basic utensils we needed. There was a welcome pack for us on arrival with tea, coffee etc. The booking process right the way through to this review request email was very smooth.

Our dogs would have loved it but we left them at home given we had loads of wedding prep to do.

I thought it was great value for money at peak season so a big thanks to Lucinda.

Fabulous setting with views across open grazing land to the spire of the local village church. The accommodation is spacious and airy with plentiful hot water and heating, when required. Well equipped kitchen.
Lucinda is friendly and very helpful, whilst leaving you the freedom to enjoy your stay. Lovely railway only a few hundred metres down the farm track.
If you like dogs the owners’ two labradors are a delight.

The cottage was cosy and clean, the beds were so comfortable, with lot of space. The views from cottage was amazing. We had a fabulous weekend. The kids enjoyed the outside space. There was quite lot to see in the area. The owners were great and very helpfull. Definitely will recommend. We will be back here again!!!. Thank you!!.
