All of us were very happy with our stay at Moray Place. Very beautifully decorated, well equiped and comfortable apartement. Very clean and tidy too. The privat garden (park!) was awsome, although the weather could have been a bit nicer to allow us to take more advantage of it. Only problem we had was a bit lacking in instruction how to operate the central heating, aswell as one of the (four) showers. A part from that everything super!
Everything was perfect about the apartment, except that we are used to king size beds, and the small bedroom only held a double, which made sleeping difficult. There were problems with the heating system, but these were attended to with alacrity by the engineer (most helpful) and the agent, who is a lovely lady who appears to move at the speed of light! I cannot speak highly enough of this place and of the service we received - if only there were a king size bed, we would wish to return .....
Couldn't have found a better place to stay. Central to all amenities and close to bus transport. Lovely walks along the river.
We've loved the appartement from the first moment. We've reached everything we've want to see by walking (with all the ups and downs it is fitnesstraining), but you can feel the wonderful atmosphere of this exiting city. We had only three days but we will co e back.
This was our second stay in this beautiful apartment this time with good friends. The apartment is in a great location in the new town. Huge well equipped kitchen. Great for socialising. Beds comfy. Nice bathrooms. There was one issue with the small bedroom downstairs in the basement. A flash flood a few days before our arrival had flooded the bedroom. Greatbase were prompt to sort this out with an engineer and dehumidifiers etc. This room wasn’t habitable so they moved the bed upstairs to the lounge. There was a musty damp smell due to the flood but overall a great stay. Will definitely...more
We loved our stay at this cute little apartment. There was plenty of room for my wife and I and our two small girls. Clean with a very functional kitchen, a free bottle of red wine, and a few steps to restaurants, the bus station, and Princes Street.
Great location for getting around, lots around within walking distance. So much to see in the area! Katie was very welcoming and helpful for what's around
Nice house, Ideal for a stay over Christmas. Facilities and equipment generally very good. Only issues were, the lack of a TV (we brought a small TV and connected it up to our laptop) and not a great amount of cutlery. Off road parking very useful, goor location close to Stockbridge.
This apartment was in first class condition and provided everything one could reaonably expect. The location is superb, especially for a Festival-goer: right next to the Royal Lyceum, the Traverse and the Usher Hall, and a short bus ride from the King's Theatre. A pair of bus stops just outside provide quick access to every part of the city. Highly recommended.
The apartment was clean and beds were very comfy. The location is great, quite, many restaurants around the corner and just a 20 min walk to the city center. We felt very comfortable.
We enjoyed it, and loved the attention to detail. Fresh flowers e.g. Or a little bottle of milk in the fridge. Classy place.
Positive: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation was stunning and had everything we needed. Location was perfect and very close to everything. Would suggest booking into the Signet Legal Library for afternoon tea. We stayed in at night and cooked our own dinner as the atmosphere in the dining room was better than eating out and the kitchen was great. We Would definitely stay here again. Negative: The booking process was fine but a suggestion to reception staff would be to have a name and company badge when you organise to meet guests. My daughter was waiting on time and...more
Firt of all, Great location Perfect amenities! You can imagine the dream house you ever dreamed.
This is a beautifully proportioned flat in a charming location. The furniture was originally very well chosen, and there is a feeling of space and light. There are great views over the New Town from one side. The kitchen has a fair supply of cutlery and crockery. There are some small niggles- the doors squeak loudly, so opening them at night will waken light sleepers, just oiling is needed. One bedroom has the boiler in it, so it continually comes on and off even with hand taps.On the beds ,some mattressses are starting to sag, and some of the windows have been painted shut, and will not ope...more
As regular festival go-era, my partner and I found this apartment perfect for our needs. Light, airy, spacious rooms. Comfortable living space and well-equipped kitchen. Above all, it was in a superb location, within walking distance of the festival venues, and close to great cafes, restaurants and bars.
This was a nice, bright, clean and comfortable family apartment for our first two nights in Scotland! Our kids really enjoyed the layout, the comfy beds, and the living room furniture. We highly recommend both the building and the neighbourhood as a great way to experience Edinburgh. On a previous trip we stayed near the Royal Mile, but this was a refreshing change, away from the tourist crowds!
This is a perfect Mews flat in a quiet location in the West End for one person or a couple to explore Edinburgh - walking distance of all the sights and plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. Close to the tram and railway station too. Modern fit-out - habitat style - very clean with everything you need (apart from a washing machine!). We did have a wee problem with a door and the Management Company fixed it immediately - excellent service and support from Greatbase Apartments. Thank you and enjoy!
This a fantastic flat to start our holiday in Scotland. The flat was spacious enough for our family of four to comfortably live for 10 days. We enjoyed walking to Stockbridge, New Town, the botanic gardens and up to Princes St gardens for our children to play. It was spotlessly clean and fitted out with quality linens, comfy beds and all the necessary items for us to enjoy our stay. Great Base were great to deal with and always responded promptly to queries. We couldn’t recommend this experience highly enough!
Only disappointment was not being aware of three flights of stairs and no lifts.? Hard with suitcases. Customer service excellent. Katie was very helpful.
This is a lovely two bed two bathroom apartment located on the first floor. It’s spacious and well equipped. Good quality furnishings, comfy sofas and beds. Katie from Great Base was very helpful, as always. We spent a week there enjoying Edinburgh and The Fringe before heading over to the West Coast and up into the Highlands.
We had a great time in Edinburgh, the location war perfect for us three, just in the center; had everything we needed.
The toilet seat didn’t stay up for a gentleman using it. Some lamps needed extension cords. The television wasn’t easy to use. Lack of coasters to protect the tables. Placemats for the dining table would be nice. Shower door didn’t stay closed. Need more space in bathroom for toiletries. Need a wardrobe in the main bedroom to hang up clothes (suits, dresses). I would suggest moving the chest of drawers to the left of the fireplace in order to make room for a wardrobe. Slightly larger bedside tables in main bedroom.
The apartment is huge, beautiful and easily accessible to the Royal Mile (about 1/2 way on the Mile). It was a fabulous place to stay while in Edinburgh. Katie met us right at 3pm when she said she would. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen easy to use and the living room was very comfortable. The directions and maps were easy to follow and the place had some lovely homey touches.
The cottage is very nice and attractive. It had all of the amenities that were promised. There was even milk in the refrigerator and the necessities to make coffee and tea. It is in a quiet, safe feeling neighborhood. It was only a short walk to the bus stop to get to the center of town. The young lady who met us at check in was courteous and helpful. There is a grocery and a pharmacy at the corner within walking distance which was convenient. The only drawback was a lack of a place to put your luggage in the small twin bedroom.
Each year I return to this apartment for the Fringe. It is ideally situated and has everything you need very much a home from home. Katie is a wonderful host, welcoming and quickly responds to any problems and gets them sorted. I love the place and highly recommend it.
Mold smell all through Appartments liked the location lots of lnformation and directions people were very friendly and helpful
If we didn't like the flat, we wouldn't have returned for a third visit. This is becoming our Edinburgh home from home. Spacious, tastefully furnished, comfortable and in the heart of Edinburgh's sublime Georgian New Town.
A perfect location for visiting Edinburgh. Very close to all the major parts of Old town and a great spot to venture from.
Fantastic venue and was met by Katie who was fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble and she ensured that we had all we needed and pointed out some amazing places to visit but also how to get to some of the places for our meetings we had planned.
fantastic location for Edinburgh city and surrounding areas walked up Arthurs seat as well as up the mile etc
This apartment is in an excellent location for visiting all the main sites in central Edinburgh and close to some good restaurants. Also the bus and train stations are only a short walk away.
This is a beautiful apartment in a central location adjacent to the Writers Museum in a small square off the Royal Mile. Close to everything really. It feels like staying in someone’s home rather than a holiday rental because it is furnished beautifully and one can see the personal touches. I would have liked some more instruction information to assist with the technologically advanced lighting and heating systems but we survived. There was a problem with the internet which was annoying but the agency provided a hot spot replacement which was ok without being as good as WiFi. The apartment i...more
Five of us stayed at Katie's flat in High Riggs for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The location couldn't have been better-quiet but in walking distance of all main fringe venues. The flat was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The fifth person slept on sofa bed which was adequate but not a comfy bed! Lovely flat and would say here again no question .
Four of us stayed here for the last weekend of the Festival in 2019. Met by Maeve who was very friendly and explained a few simple housekeeping items with the apartment. Great location - 2 minutes walk from the end of the tram line at York Place - slightly more getting back to the tram as it is uphill! Apartment block looks great from the street - proper New Town House with a functional common stair. Inside was light and airy, 2 doubles (1 can be split into 2 singles) and a cosy single. Spacious hall way, lovely reception room and a great kitchen with all you will need. It is up stairs o...more
Nettes Appartment in ruhiger Lage, sehr gute Busanbindung, zu Fuß halbe Stunde zur Innenstadt, genügend Pubs und Frühstückslokale in der Nähe
We stayed the go r the Fringe at the beginning of August and have stayed there for the last few years
This New Town Georgian flat was just perfect for our needs. Nicely decorated and with mostly good facilities. We had some small issues - little storage space, no waste bins in the bedrooms - and a slightly bigger one concerning the novel shower in the second bedroom. Full points for the imaginative solution but without a curtain it was impossible not to flood the room after a shower. Getting in and (especially) out was a challenge. We may not be that young and flexible but for anyone, particularly children, it could be dangerous. But........we enjoyed every minute there and would stay again...more
Handy location for both the station and the city centre. Lovely views. Some noise from passing sirens but the doubleglazing takes care of the worst of it. Comfortable, well furnished, nice soft beds, well equipped kitchen except for lack of corkscrew! (hopefully now sorted). You do need to be reasonably fit to manage the four flights of stairs.
Castle Terrace offered a wonderful 'home base' for sightseeing in Edinburgh and for the Fringe festival. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to see, so very conveniently located close to groceries and restaurants. The flat was clean and bright with lots of windows and a sparkling kitchen. It had a comfortable living area, though a bit small. There was plenty of room in the bedrooms and the temperature was comfortable. Our host met us on time, we were late due to train and rain. There were some fruits and cookies as well as tea and milk. We were very grateful for the snacks. ...more
The 3rd floor without elevator.Windows at bedroom and kitchen do not open.Mold on windows.Smell wet.
Super apartment in lovely area of Edinburgh. Very well equipped. thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend the apartment.
This is an attractive apartment which has many useful features including a dishwasher, washing machine, television, wifi. It is also a close to restaurants, shops, the castle, the university, and the train station. The only drawback is that the apartment is very small, especially when the fold-away bed is open. With 2 people it is very difficult to move around the room.
