From the moment of our initial booking, to the point of checking out, David and Sarah were responsive, helpful and welcoming hosts.

Despite getting a bit lost in the darkening evening, once we found Hawkings Hideaway, we began to unwind, de-stess from the week and fully enjoy our stay.

Set in the most stunning location, overlooking the autumnal colours of the surrounding countryside, we enjoyed a very peaceful and private long birthday weekend.

We would heartily recommend Hawkings Hideaway to anyone wishing to reconnect with nature and spend a few romantic days away from it all.

We recently enjoyed a magical stay at this incredible hut with our dog, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The grounds were absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views that made every moment feel special.

From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere enveloped us. Our dog was treated like family, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy the outdoors. The lodge itself was beautiful, and blends rustic charm with modern comforts.

We spent our days hiking the scenic trails and soaking in the views, and our evenings were filled with watching the sunset from the hot tub and cosy moments by the fire pit. David and Sarah went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home, and their attention to detail truly made our stay.

If you're looking for a peaceful getaway that accommodates furry friends, this hut is a hidden gem. We can’t wait to return!!!!

Amazing shepherds with great views! We loved using the hot tub and gazing at the stars. Luckett Farm had pretty much thought of everything. The pizza oven was a great bonus and we enjoyed cooking pizza's under the porch. We will certainly be back!

The place is just so beautiful and relaxing. We had a lovely time celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Sarah was very friendly and helpful and David provided us with a lot of useful information. We had dinner in the Mason’s Arms food was fantastic. I have already recommended it to my friends and we will definitely be back again.

When we came across Luckett farm whilst searching for a mini break away, it was the view from the hut that sold it to us.
When we arrived we were greeted by Sarah whom showed us around the shepherds hut that we were staying at, on approach to the hut the views was as we as hoping for, and it defiantly delivered.
Everything about the shepherds hut was more than we could have asked for, clean and comfortable, it was peaceful and very relaxing 3 days for us.
We came away saying our goodbyes to Sarah & David only to get home and start look at re booking for 2025.
It is truly a fantastic place to stay for some peace and quite.

Exceeded expectations. The hut is very well equipped with everything you need for a weekend stay or longer. It’s suck a lovely location you can’t help but stop and unwind. The hot tub takes a little while to get going but well worth the time, it was a lovely relaxing experience sat in there under the stars. The fridge is not full size so big enough for a weekends worth of food but not a bigger shop. David and Sarah couldn’t be a nicer more accommodating host, not hung was too much trouble. The app with all the information is really great, do take the trouble to read it.

Had such a good time at the hideaway for my parters birthday. The hut is such an awesome small space, the decking area, fire pit and hot tub along with the breathtaking view . The weather wasn’t great but that’s an English summer for you . Already booked to return in august to one of the other great facilities on their land . David and Sarah are such nice hosts too. Even gave us a lift to the lovely mason arms in the village .

Wow, what a fantatsic relaxing weekend away we had. Such a great location, nothing but the peaceful sound of birdsong and the running stream. We had both the ocean and farm hampers which were really nice and well portioned, the pizza oven is a must try too. Good location too for exploring the nearby Exmoor. Unfortunately we didnt make it to the pub but that was mainly due to making the most of the weather in our fabulous hut. Great hosts, great location, will definetly be back at some point soon. Thank you Sarah & David.

A lovely location and well equipped hut
Probable that the outside toilet and shower are a lot more fun when the rain is not hammering down and the wind howling.
Use of wheelbarrow when we arrived late and weary on first night was very helpful. The logs and kindling were good quality, and much fun heating the hot-tub. Was sceptical about the heat being retained, but absolutely true!! Must get one for home!

We absolutely loved our stay in the hut. It was exactly what we wanted and more. Perfect for morning coffees with beautiful scenery and local Devon dog walks and chilling by the fire on the evenings. The hut was very clean, amazingly equipped, decorated and thought out.
The hosts were welcoming on arrival and catered to any requests we had.
Would definitely recommend and come back!

Having booked a birthday meal in the Mason's arms we found Hawkings Hideaway and booked it. Due to the inclement weather we we were upgraded to the Tumbledown barn which was excellent. We had planned the short walk to the restaurant but (again due to the weather) our hosts very kindly offered to drop us off and pick us up which we gladly accepted. Although we didn't get to stay in the hideaway we did have a look and plan to try again later in the year.

Luckett has been our go to get away location ever since we first stayed at Hawkings Hideaway in 2021. This time we stayed at Tumbledown Barn, it didn’t disappoint. I love the style, the location, the care from the hosts and the amazing walking options from Luckett. I’ve already recommended Luckett to many and I’ll continue to do so. I can’t wait to come back again!

The weather certainly wasn't on our side for our stay at Hawkings Hideaway. However once the fire was lit the hut was very cosy. And the hot tub was great fun despite the rain. Great location and views, would love to come back in the summer.

We had a really lovely 3 night stay. Very cosy with a spectacular view. We really enjoyed the use of the pizza oven overlooking the valley and the hot tub with starry skies and in the rain. Best bit was how dog friendly it was, our old rescue had the best time sniffing about in the fields, on the beach and in the dog bed by the fire.

Wow! That’s the best way to describe it. We were amazed by how peaceful, private and relaxing Hawkings Hideaway felt. Everything that needed to be thought of had been which led to our stay being 100% stress free. The views are to die for and the setting is beautiful. We were greeted every single morning but a Red Stag on the opposite hill which really made us feel like we were out in the countywide, which is exactly what we were after. The little extra touches like complimentary cider, milk, teas and coffees go a long way and really add to the value for money debate you might be having in your head. I promise you now, it is 100% value for money and we will 100% be going back again!

We came across the Hideaway after an afternoon spent researching similar properties, we liked the look of what we saw and booked it immediately. Great communication from David and Sarah before we arrived, with a useful guide to download, which is full of useful information, I just wish more properties would do this.

We were met by Sarah on arrival and were made to feel at home immediately, even our dog Paco had his own comfy bed to sleep in as well as a good supply of treats.

The setting is stunning and we loved being able to use the outdoor shower without fear of being overlooked (except by the occasional passing deer!!).

The Hideaway is a fitted out with all home comforts you could possibly want, the wood-burner warmed us up very quickly - so much so, we had to shut it down after a couple of hours. The wood-fired hot tub has great views across the valley, we even made use of it whilst it was raining.

You really get a sense of being surrounded by nature - we were lucky enough to have a female Red Deer and her fawn come within a very short distance of the hut - completely oblivious to us. We also saw many other deer and many varieties of birds, including great views of a Tawny Owl.

Would love to re-visit at some point and definitely would recommend to others.

From the moment I pulled up, the hosts were wonderfully accommodating.
The whole grounds are just stunning. When you enter the Hideaway area, it’s breath taking views across the woods. I had such wonderful weather. The breakfast produce was top quality and coking on the fire pit was super simple! I even saw a beautiful red deer! This was the perfect get away from everything and just chill. I will be back, and much longer next time!

We’ve had a lovely time at Hakwings Hideaway, Sarah and David are great hosts who let us check in early even though we were expecting to check in from 4pm. The views from patio are spectacular, very quiet and atmospheric place. Breakfast hamper that we received was exceptional and it lasted for longer than one morning! Hot tub was amazing and it was nice to get in to after a day at the beach or walking in the local area. We would love to come back! Thanks Sarah and David and you all the best for you!

We had the most relaxing couple of days in this beautifully done shepherds hut.
Everything has been thought of to ensure your stay is comfortable, down to the decking area to relax on and the hut tub with the best view .
If you can drag yourself away from the peace and tranquility then we also recommend the masons arms just up the road for food.
The hosts Sarah and David were also lovely and very helpful.
We will return .

Hawking's Hideaway is one of those hidden gems tucked away just on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Our hosts David and Sarah were fantastic. Showed us what was what with the sheperds hut and the facility's, ie how to heat the wood fired hottub. The hottub is one of the highlights, with it's views down the valley. Very relaxing, listening to birds and the stream in the bottom of the valley. That is all you could hear all weekend, birds and the river, oh and the occasional bleating of sheep. There's also no light pollution at night so great for star gazing if there are clear sky's. We had an amazing meal on the Saturday evening at the michelin star pub The Masons Arms, 5 mins drive away. All in all a fantastic three night stay and somewhere we would highly recommend and we most definitely will visit again in the future. Ps if you do decide to stay, keep an eye out for the deer on the hill side opposite( they made an appearance Sunday evening).

The Hawking hideaway is a stunning peaceful and tranquil place. The Shepard’s hut has been styled in a most stunning way, so comfortable and idyllic way. The outside shower shack and lav shack is amazing and I even loved leaving the doors opens to see the view while having a shower !!!!

The grounds are so beautiful and the river and trees at the bottom of the land is stunning !!!!!

I am definitely coming back again . Sarah and David are wonderful hosts and so attentive .

Would recommend this to all my family and friends . Stunning views , wonderful outside fire , pizza oven, honesty bar , and hot tub ! What else could you ask for !
