Keepers Lodge is a recently built extension to a Grade II listed 16th century thatched Devon longhouse. Located on Luckett Farm set in 20 acres of farmland, close to Exmoor National Park, perfect for rural, romantic escapes

Excellent accommodation albeit a couple of adjustments to be made

We found Keepers Lodge excellent accommodation and very homely and great furnishings. Log fire at new year made it very homely. Our only gripe was for the four of us was the fridge was only an under the counter one which to house food as well as wine/beer/soft drinks for our duration was far too small. Could do with a free standing wine chiller. Plenty of room for one as the kitchen area is huge! Also only 4 cups 4 knives & forks which after every use we had to wash them up for the next use through the day. This may seem nit picking but became frustrating as all other crockery which was plentiful went in dishwasher for the day but couldn't put utensils in as you needed them again!

We stayed here over Christmas 24, as soon as we opened the door we felt at home.
Everything has been modernised yet still holds its traditional look and feel.
Everything we could need was avaliable,
Hosts were excellent, very friendly and happy to help.
Would definitely recommend will definitely be coming back.

The house and the surroundings were beautiful. Very clean rooms, linen and towels. To top it all, everything smelled really nice too! The décor of the house was very tasteful and classy. Kitchen was very well equipped and we particularly loved the open plan layout with the island counter. The main bedroom and bathroom were both beautiful and big. The internet connection was stable albeit not superfast.
Sarah was a delight to talk to and Dave was very helpful. There is a 7kW EV charger that you can use for an additional £25.

Keepers lodge is a very special property. I would like to say that it is a home away from home but in all honesty it is even more than that. We were made to feel so welcome and Sarah showed us around on arrival to ensure we were comfortable and how everything worked. No detail has been missed and the accommodation is luxuriously appointed.

The only reason for a 4 score for location is that the property can be difficult to find at first, which led to much amusement. However, it is ideally located for exploring Exmoor and the North Devon Coast.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. We will most definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay at Keeper's Lodge. Clean, well-equipped and spacious. We had everything we needed and felt very comfortable. We loved the decor! The cottage is in a quiet and beautiful part of the Devon countryside. We enjoyed exploring the small villages as well as Tiverton.
Sarah is a fantastic host, it was so lovely to meet her (and her cute dog Prudence). She's more than happy to help with anything you ask and has plenty of good advice on places to eat around there. That proved useful to us when we went to the pub already forewarned of big portions!
We'd love to come back for longer as we only had time for a short break .

What an incredible house! The host was fantastic, and location great for exploring Devon. Loved the little touches in the accommodation and also the local pub was brilliant. A real gem!

Excellent cottage in a quiet location.
Unusual to find a holiday rental with a large well equipped kitchen like this one. Well except for a potato peeler!
Lovely hosts and very helpful when we had problems with our car as you need your own transport to get around.

David and Sarah are lovely hosts, very approachable, happy to chat but equally to be discrete. They've made an excellent job of restoring the cottage using nothing but wood, stone and craftsmanship. It's very well appointed, spacious and everything works. The log burner excellent and not a trace of smoke in the room (quite rare in our experience). Substantial and extremely comfortable beds (we're off to get one of those duvets tomorrow!) Felt homely too, with artwork, ceramics and outdoor blankets. EV charger welcome and works (easily) Plenty of wildlife around to entertain. Grounds varied and accessible with lovely view across the valley, especially when the sun breaks through storm clouds to illuminate the church tower. Sitting out on the terrace not as private as some might like but this is in hand.

Be careful of the potholes in the road up to the farm.

This place is beautiful and finished to a very high standard.

We were fortunate to have the entire place to ourselves, which is a luxury two bedroomed annex to a farmhouse.

Although the approach to the building was a little daunting once found it became clear where we should park etc and we were greeted very courteously by the owner and shown around.

I think had we needed to share the accommodation with another unknown couple it might have been a different experience, on this occasion we didn't and I am grateful for that, although I do realise that sometimes meeting new people in such circumstances can be life enhancing.

I was concerned regarding breakfast, as the price point seemed quite high on booking and we were informed that a cooked breakfast would be an extra £20 each on top of this. There was no need to be concerned! The continental style buffet was excellent with more food than anybody could ever eat in one sitting...it was fabulous.

Also really appreciated were the quality tea and coffee facilities which no matter where we stay usually are not sufficient for decent coffee in the morning....this was also excellent.

In short, a fabulous experience, thank you.

We were most impressed by Luckett Farm, which is a real 5 star place. The location is beautiful and the guest accommodation has been done to a very high standard. David and Sarah were excellent, helpful and friendly hosts too. For foodies, the fact that the Michelin starred Mason's Arms in Knowstone is just five minutes drive away is an additional plus. Highly recommended.

If you love the countryside, rolling hills and nature, this is the place for you. We saw an owl, deer and lots of rabbits. We loved the decor, facilities and amazing character of Keepers Lodge! I can highly recommend walking on Exmoor, my first time and I'll be back. We ate at the local The Masons Arms and this is pretty special but book early we only got in due to a cancellation.

We arrived at Luckett Farm, were greeted by the hosts David and Sarah and shown to Keepers Lodge. Wow, it's full of character, beautifully decorated, they have thought of everything. The location is rural and remote, perfect for a relaxed break. We had a great nights sleep in the luxurious four poster bed! We'll be back.

Finding the cottage was fun and it is set in idyllic settings, surrounded by rolling hills, we found it peaceful and charming. The Keepers Lodge is a new property, yet it boasts originality and compliments the Luckett Farmhouse magnificently.

It was a comfortable stay and the owners had thought of everything, including to reserve a spot at the local Michelin restaurant at very short notice!

The attention to detail is second to non and we loved the open plan arrangement and the inviting 4 poster bed.

It was a luxurious experience and we will look to return!
