The room was unique retaining many original features while having modern plumbing and a very comfy bed, however it was cold and could benefit from a draught excluder or heavy door curtain. The host Tobias was very charming and welcoming, very attentive and a good cook. The full Scottish breakfast was very tasty and a good start to the day. While there we enjoyed a meal in the great hall, (which was quite romantic). This was our third visit to Buittle Castle and it was wonderful. Food was delicious and loved having the log burner in our room. Buittle is in a good location close to Kirkcudbright & Rockcliffe which are well worth a visit. Tobias & James were great hosts, thanks again for a special couple of days.
