This was our sixth holiday at Keepers Cottage and despite the weather being mostly wet and cold we had a lovely fortnight, revisiting old favourite and finding new destinations. Straloch is a truly beautiful place whatever the weather and we feel calm and relaxed as soon as we arrive. The dogs love it too. I’ve always given Keepers straight 5s in all categories but it’s been difficult to do that this year because, after six years of visiting every May, we notice that the ‘condition’ of the property is getting a little ‘tired’ and it could do with a refresh/redecorating. We had a fantastic 4 day stay at Stalker’s Lodge with myself, my husband, mother in law and 2 children (5 and 8). The house was very spacious and immaculately clean, and we loved Straloch, enjoying walking round the estate, rowing on the loch, and several trips to the island for camp fires and marsh mallows. The kids also enjoyed pond dipping and the owner Lucy kindly showed them how to do it. There is also loads to do nearby, particularly in Pitlochry which has excellent shops and restaurants, and plenty to keep the kids entertained.
