History tells a tale


Moorings is a wonderful beautifully presented family home in the heart of Aldeburgh, 5 minutes walk from the beach and the wonderful independent shops the town is renowned for. The house is well equipped, very comfortable with a light and airy feel. There are good comfy mattresses and lots of space for all with both a small and large sitting room. It was described as a 'hug' of a house by a guest. The garden is south facing so lovely and sunny with bbq and table and chairs for 11.

Another wonderful week with family and friends. Our 4th. Every year there are more improvements to what is already a gloriously decorated house - the bedrooms and en suites are beautiful.

Such a lovely house, easily big enough for 11. Great location just a short walk down some steps to the high street, shops, cafes and the beach. We had a lovely sunny weekend so utilised the garden too! Perfectly equipped. Lovely open plan kitchen/diner leading to a lovely sitting room. Beautifully furnished. Lots of bathrooms, plenty of towels and hot water for everyone. Very comfy beds and linen. All in all A*

The Moorings was the perfect location for our family celebration. The house was great with large kitchen/diner and lounge that could easily accommodate all of us. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, a short walk to the high St and the beach. The access arrangements were timely and clear.
I would love to stay at this place again.

We loved Moorings for our special New Years Break. We found the house large, warm, comfortable and so well stocked. Parking for three cars outside and a few minutes walk from the High Street and the beach. Super house, super correspondence, super location.

Fantastic house with a modern, yet modern feel. Tastefully furnished. In a quiet location with only a short walk to the main shops, pubs and eateries. House well equipped. Highly recommend.

This is an amazing house. It was everything and more than we wanted. The house is so beautifully furnished throughout and so spacious.

The location is perfect for exploring Aldeburgh. We had some lovely walks.

There is a very good selection of restaurants and coffee shops.

Fish and Chips is a must.

We loved everything about our weekend break. Nobody was ready to come home.

The house accommodated our family of 10 extremely well. Both the kitchen space and the lounge were large enough for all of us to be comfortable. The bathrooms were super and the beds and bed linen were very good. We thought the house had lots of character and we particularly liked the mixture of old and modern furnishings. The patio area was great for outdoor dining and the garden big enough for playing badminton ! We loved Aldeburgh.

We were very impressed with Moorings. Very spacey. And it is so beautifully decorated. Lots of room downstairs and generous sized bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. Kitchen is huge! And very well equipped. We really couldnt have wanted anything else. It was quiet, but close to the High Street. We would highly recommend it to a big family or two families.

We stayed for my 60th birthday with friends, it was perfect for hosting a large get together. Fun house, tasteful decor and in a great location. Would not hesitate to return.

We have been coming to The Moorings for a number of years as a large family group and highly recommend. The recent refurbishment / additions have had an amazing impact! We loved the outside bath and new internal bathrooms/wet room.

Ideally situated, well provisioned and comfortable accomodates our extended family of 10 (ranging from 14 yrs to 84 yrs) plus dogs!

We’ve been coming for years and this is definitely our favourite. Comforable, central, plenty of room for bikes, a hot tub to dunk the kids in after a cold wet day sailing, lot of room for charades, plus all the kitchen aids, china & cutlery you need to make spaghetti vongole or Dover Sole for 14. Bliss!
