Charming holiday homes in Devon with tons of creature comforts and dazzling eccentricity. Fingals is magical, a jumble of a place in a hidden valley in one of the loveliest parts of south Devon close to the River Dart estuary and the coast.
A beautiful location, very well kitted out, comfortable and full of charm. The pool and game room were an added bonus, especially with the teenagers. Richard and Sheila are excellent hosts. I would highly recommend.
The Barn is a beautiful open plan space, full of charm, with a lovely terrace over-looking the tennis court. Fingal's is a real family favourite for us. Set in a lovely little valley, with beautiful gardens surrounding it, it's the perfect holiday spot, especially if you want to be close to Dittisham and Dartmouth. There's a pool, games room and tennis court, great for keeping the kids (and adults) entertained. Richard and Sheila are excellent hosts, always helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend.
We had a fabulous time at Fingals relaxing, swimming and just hanging out in the beautiful environs. Stunning local walks, outstanding cafes, restos and pubs and we loved taking ferries to Greenway (Agatha Christie’s country home), Dartmouth and to other beauty spots. Returned home restored and invigorated ++ keen to make regular visits. Richard and Sheila are wonderful hosts. Thank you.
A quirky, rustic hidden gem! We loved the eclectic mix of furnishings, the attention to detail and the sense of calm throughout the Folly and its clear that this little house has been created with love.
It was a joy to drift off to sleep - on a super comfy mattress and cocooned in fine linens - to the sound of the babbling brook.
If you like pristine hotels with little character this might not be for you, otherwise give this unique, magical place a try- you’ll be glad you did!
Perfect large house for a family holiday of generations with large bedrooms and superior en suites.
With lawn tennis and a pool and lovely weather this proved to be quite a celebration.
Plenty of pubs and activities close by too which kept all the family aged 4 to 70 years entertained.
A wonderful garden with many places to sit and read or chat and enough rooms for Tv viewing board games and fine dining.
Barberry Brook was warm and peaceful. The bath is quite difficult to access but the bed was comfortable and there is a lovely stream running outside. The location is beautiful so can recommend this for a peaceful stay in a lovely part of Devon.
