We thoroughly enjoyed our five day stay at Fingals, with our Grandaughter 17, who loved the gym and swimming pool/sauna, Richard and Sheila were such lovely hosts, wish we could have spoken more to them, but they were always very busy , as we were entranced with the whole experience of staying at the lower mill, and would love to have known more of the history. There is no more beautiful and relaxing place to stay than this. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Everything you could possibly need and provided with great generosity and care!
We enjoyed a magical weekend at Fingals at the end of the summer. The wisteria suite was perfect for us, our two children and our dog, and had everything we needed. Richard and Sheila looked after us so well, helping to book our children in to swim in the indoor pool (which kept them entertained for hours), recommending excellent local pubs for lunch and dinner and fabulous local walks for our hound. We were lucky enough to visit during the Dartmouth Regatta and enjoyed a boat trip on the river dart. All facilities excellent but unless one has a car it is impossible as taxis are exhorbitant and not available for short tips to the village .
Very much enjoyed our stay, we were participating in the watercolour painting course next door. Nicely appointed accommodation, good appliances in the kitchen; comfortable and quiet bedroom. Bathroom is separate from toilet, & has a bathtub, always a treat. Hosts very engaging, Richard even joined me for a game of tennis on their pristine grass court. Fingals is a different type of accommodation and may not be up to everyone's taste. The accommodation is slightly tired especially the bathrooms, pool area and gym but the beds were very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The gardens and tennis court are fantastic. The premises are full of unusual art, statues and decor and there are book/games and suggestions for walks and activities. Sheila and Richard are very helpful and attentive.
