We stayed at Gardener's Cottage - the smallest of the cottages (1 bed) with our dog. On arrival the cottage was warm, very clean, well appointed and the little extra's provided by Ann & Martin very welcome. The Brownies, Chillled Wine and Organic Doggie Treats were all enjoyed, as were the fresh eggs at Breakfast. The grounds are very pleasant for an afternoon stroll and the fire pit (initial logs ALSO provided) in your own dedicated area out of door space, provided a great place to relax in the evening. Fantastic 3 bedroom cottage in countryside location, about 1.3 miles from the town of Cockermouth, which is a lively small town We had the Gamekeepers cottage which will easily accommodate 6 people with a large kitchen/ diner Excellent cottage excellent value, excellent hosts and excellent location for a quiet break
Having booked this property for a weekend stay with six adults and a dog, we were pleased when we arrived that it lived up to its previous reviews. We were warmly welcomed by the owners who lived onsite. The owners gave us a quick tour of the accommodation and recommended places in the area for eating and to visit. There was plenty of space for us, it was clean and tidy. It was nice to have our own private garden for our dog to run in too. We will certainly be looking into another visit.
