This is the second time my family adi have stayed here. It is an absolute gem of a place. It is comfortable and cosy and has everything you can think of. Including amazing views in the front and beautiful countryside in the back. It is in an amazing spot to use as a base everything is reached quickly. Thank you to the owner as it allows my growing family to have some amazing family time! Loved it.

This was our second time at the house and it did not disappoint. The surroundings were amazing and we explored the nearest peak to see views for miles. The children loved rafting in bodyboards down the river and exploring the copper mines. We visited some attractions such as the Cysyllte aqueduct which was spectacular, some of the wonderful castles and Bodnant gardens was beautiful. Dafydd and Manon are so lovely and we enjoyed a few little chats with Dafydd who provided us with information and maps which helped us explore further. Booked the day before arrival and everything went though without issue. The house is in a beautiful position with fantastic walks from the door step. It is really comfortable and well resourced - the gardens are lovely. We spent most of the time in the kitchen area and conservatory - comfortable, light and great views. The owner was really helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Gave a score of 4 for comfort only because of the bathroom being downstairs, we knew this when we booked, not that much of an issue, only during the night time. Would defiantly book again.

Friendly welcome and little extras on arrival - milk in fridge and Welsh cakes. Grateful for some help from Gwen during our visit, and the bathroom aids for my elderly mother. Kitchens had all the tools, pans and gadgets you need - not always the case. I am sure that we’ll be back, just hope we have better weather so that we can enjoy the garden more next time.

A cosy clean and comfortable cottage set in a very quiet village. The only problem we had, was that the garden was not enclosed so we were not able to let our dog run around unsupervised.
Sandcastles is a very comfortable apartment with all facilities you could want for a relaxing stay. The view from the bay windows across the bay is wonderful, even on a misty wet day! Ideal for a quiet get-away break.
We were a family of 9 spending a very pleasant week in the old farmhouse. Everything we needed was provided and the house felt comfortable and relaxing. The railway station was on our doorstep when we wanted a break from driving and there were lovely walks in the area.
We had a comfortable stay. The bungalow has a beautiful view and is generally very clean and comfortable. We had very rainy, windy weather for most of our stay so couldn't use the garden areas. The surrounding area is very beautiful to explore. The welcome basket was appreciated.
We enjoyed staying at the Captains beach house the view made it special. The pound meter worked out only £1 a day. Pat the owner promptly addressed a couple of concerns we had. We would have been happier if towels were supplied and ideally a dish washer.
This place was ideal for us, modern and spacious . It was very well equipped. Location is perfect for North Wales exploration. Walking distance to caernarfon. I would love to stay here again.
We returned to the garden flat again this year. We love the location in Porthmadog. Ideal for steam trains and the town. Once again flat was very comfortable with excellent facilities. Gwen is really helpful. Hope to come back again!
This is a very cosy mid-terrace property in Tanygrisiau. We stayed as a family with two teenage sons and they loved it. It is in an ideal location for strolling in to Blaenau Ffestiniog and riding the railway and Zip World. It's a short drive to Porthmadog and Port Merrion or you can take the steam train from the village station into Porthmadog and on to Caernarfon. 2nd time we have been to this property and it was ideal for us plus our dog. Very well situated with easy access to the town, harbour, little railway and bus services. Will hopefully be visiting again soon

We enjoyed our stay in 82 Glaslyn Harbour. The views from the windows are beautiful over the harbour. It is especially good for anyone interested in the Ffestiniog Railway as it is just opposite the car park, but not noisy except for the occasional whistle from one of the trains!! The facilities were good and equipment was plentiful especially as there were only 2 of us. My only comment would be that it is difficult to get fresh air at night being a ground floor apartment with only large sliding French doors.

A great little apartment perfectly appointed on the Wharf. The apartment is well equipped for a short stay.
The cottage was roomy and very comfortable. The location was stunning, with a large garden and wonderful views.
The only snag was the poor Internet connection which seemed overloaded for much of the time. We were given a kind and helpful introduction to the property by Mrs Roberts. On the matter of Jerry the mouse we made strenuous efforts to deter him keeping the flat free of crumbs etc.
All is OK. The living room is super. Very quiet. The shower is to cold or to hot. Very difficult but ok

Very comfortable apartment with a very well equipped kitchen - had everything you needed. Lovely view of the harbour and the steam train is right next door so you can hear the steam and the tooting - absolutely wonderful! We return to this site many times. Porthmadog has everything, the mountains, the sea, castles and Portmeirion is on your doorstep - well worth a visit.
A wonderful stay. Great location close to 3 pubs, a bistro serving amazing food, village shop and ice cream parlour. Beddgelert is truly a beautiful village with a river and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Snowdon walks are only 15 minutes drive. The cottage is lovely. Very well equipped, great shower and bath and comfy beds. I would highly recommend. We will definitely return!
We've stayed in this apartment a number of times, well equipped and a perfect location. Just right for us.
Rooms were all clean and comfy. The communal spaces were lovely. The only very minor issues were that there needed to be more tea towels and cleaning stuff. Also all the beds were on wheels so that was a bit odd.
Really nice cottage on a great location. Loads of walks in the doorstep including Snowdon. Lovely to sit outside and enjoy the river. Has everything you could need for a week's stay.
Situated in an isolated wooded setting with a long winding access track through forest this is the perfect quite retreat for those who love nature.
This was our 6th time staying at River Edge Mill and we absolutely love it. We call it our second home as we look forward to coming back every year and would live there if we could. The cottage couldn't have been better placed. A perfect view of the river from the rear windows and the patio. Some wonderful walks from the village. All the local amenties (and the stream train station) meant that we left the car parked for the majority of our stay. A fabulous spot and a cosy, well appointed, cottage.
We've stayed on this beautiful site many times before but this apartment was by far the most comfortable. It has a lovely view of the harbour and there is ample room on the balcony's modern seating to sit watching the wildlife. Apartment has all you need but the bathroom with its underfloor heating and very modern 'rain' shower was very pleasurable. Apartment is very modern, clean and the beds are very comfortable. The area is so quiet and tranquil, it was a very relaxing break.
Property was well located. Bathroom clean and modern. Kitchen clean and modern, more crockery would have been useful (only four plates bowls etc). Frying pans dirty - need replacing. Double bedroom clean and spacious. Two single bedrooms very small. Lounge spacious but display cabinet and bookcase empty (apart from a thick layer of dust). Numerous holes in the ceilings and walls where hooks/screws/nails had been removed and holes not filled in. A few more pictures on the walls, some books on the bookshelves and some ornaments in the display cabinet would have made it more appealing.
We stayed at the Captains rest for 5 nights. The small balcony was a great addition and the bed was very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped . The balcony chairs were very uncomfortable as were the ones in the kitchen. The wonderful views from the back of the property really made the stay .Easy instructions on how to enter and good communication throughout.
We have just returned home from a fantastic stay at stars and clouds cottage. The host, Roger was more than helpful. The cottage was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot tub was fabulous and the views were amazing! We would definitely recommend a stay here!

Lovely little apartment with everything we needed for a weekend stay. Great view of the marina and the perfect position for walking into town and visiting local attractions.
The inside of the property is very good throughout. The location if you want to be in Porthmadog is great. We liked the fact we were by the harbour so not noisy and pleasant. Literally, 1-minute walk to the steam railway station very handy, as well as access to the cafes and shops. Wifi worked absolutely fine which is great as phone reception was not. ONnly issue was finding empty coke bottles under my bed and the coffee machine wasn't clean with remains of last drink in. This is minor, as rest of the place was clean on arrival. Lovely, well equipped, comfortable apartment, our second stay in this one, views from balcony are magnificent. Our only issue was the smell of damp in the main bedroom. Still our favourite apartment of the four or five on South Snowdon Wharf that we have stayed in.
We had an amazing time at Dowlais Cottage. On arrival Jayne was there to meet us with all the information we needed, local shops, walks etc. She also told us we had the garden at the back of the property to ourselves as the other cottage had not been rented out whilst we were there. This was a second visit to this property as we loved it the first time round. When we arrived the patio door was unlocked. The apartment was spotless clean and thank you for the welcome biscuits. I have three observations which I did advise but never received a response. 1 we could not keep the heating on in the bedroom at night because the heater made a continual banging noise as if there was air in the system. 2 black out blinds are needed due to external lighting and the morning sun woke us extremely early. 3 we always leave accommodation clean and tidy as we found it. Thanks for a great stay. Great location and lovely property. Few bits to make you aware of: The front room had been cleaned but not under the table or sofa, which we did. The property has Netflix but you need an account. Might be worth referencing that in the detail. The person I spoke to when I booked was excellent. First class. I had a call when shopping with kids late Friday re the recycling. I appreciate the person I spoke to didn’t want to talk to me at 6pm before the weekend but getting hung up on was not ideal to finish our holiday experience… Wish you all the best...more

The view from the windows and balcony is so beautiful you can’t help but relax. Apartment has everything you need. Beds very comfy, enough room for two adults and two teenagers. Perfect location for snowdonia and Wales coastal path. Porthmadog has everything you need whilst also being a charming unspoilt town. Check out the local purple moose beer! Really good! If you like walking this was an excellent spot. We will probably go back to climb some more mountains! Only criticism was that there were only 3 chairs at the breakfast bar so one of us had to eat off our knee.
My mum & I had a wonderful stay for her birthday. The house is gorgeous, full of character and a home away from home. A real bonus that it is also dog friendly! The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and very conveniently located for Zip World, which we went to. Another delightful bonus was the steam train that runs along the back of the house! If there's one thing to nit pick, it's that there was no hair dryer, which would have been useful. Everything from booking to letting ourselves into the house was seamless - we'd definitely come back!
This property is perfectly situated, with views down the channel leading from Porthmadog harbour to the sea. The main bedroom was comfortable and we used the second bedroom for storage. Cooking facilities in the kitchen are limited, with just a two ring radiant hob and a combination microwave/ oven. The microwave/ oven appliance is difficult to operate, relying totally on a touch screen and without any knobs or push buttons. The view from the flat balcony is amazing overlooking the Glaslyn estuary and the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland steam railway. Great choice of steam train journeys. The location was great as we were able to walk into Portmeirion which took us about 1 hour and only 45 mins drive to Snowdon Mountain Railway. Although the lounge/dining/kitchen area was small it was fully equipped and reasonably comfortable. This is our 3rd time in this lovely quaint cottage. Views across the river are lovely to wake up to. Great walks on your doorstep and only a short stroll into the village of Bedgelert for a bite to eat, a drink at the local pubs or to buy provisions from the local shop. I think an update to the bathroom would improve the cottage. Otherwise a perfect home from home but much more peaceful!
We have stayed at South Snowden Wharf including this property six or seven times now ... the location and views keep us returning to this development. We had expected the big price hike in this particular property to be reflected in an overall improvement in the overall amenities and quality of fixtures and fittings ... sadly not. Other properties on the complex offer better quality of amenities and comfort for this price.
We had a splendid time at Anchor Watch. The view from the apartment is wonderful, it is a short walk to the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways Station and Spooners Bar which is worth a visit. Porthmadog is a lovely place to stay However, the apartment is not without its issues. For example, there are two holes in the carpet and floor in the living area where, presumably, old radiators were replaced. There should have been a rug over these holes but it was not in place when we arrived so we could see that the holes were full of spider webs, there was a spider skin next to one and dust ...more
The property was perfect for our stay of 5 adults and 2 children. The large kitchen/living area with the terrace off was a perfect space to eat, play and relax. The Grandparents had the downstairs bedroom with bathroom and this worked well. The bed is not large so if you are used to a king size it can seem a bit small. We managed to park outside and walked from the house to the harbour and beach. The small play area a short walk behind the house was a hit with the children. Charming chalet on the beach. A good size for 4 people. A bit draughty, but we never had the heaters on in late May. Good phone signal (with Vodafone) so lack of WiFi isn't a problem. Very well equipped kitchen. All the things that are often missing that we brought along weren't needed. Despite all the reviews mentioning dogs it didn't smell of dogs. Amazing view.
A wonderful ground floor flat with an outstanding view. The one bedroom flat was comfortable and well appointed. Parking and storage was more than adequate. There were three problems with our stay two of which were seen too immediately by the local excellent agents. The hot water however was so slow in both the kitchen and bathroom that kettles had to be used and the wash basin plug did not fit. We would like to go there again soon.
Fab cottage, although a little dated, but well equipped and the garden is spectacular. We will happily go back. Fantastic location for many thinks and the train line is a must to visit the villages it services.

This was a very last minute booking and STS were very helpful. The apartment is in an excellent position, alongside the harbour, though there are a number of steps to go up to gain access. ( Not good for anyone with mobility problems/dodgy knees). The apartment was roomy and very well equipped as well as being comfortable and well looked after. Bathroom just had a shower and it was a good size. Kitchen well equipped. The only issue for us was the very hard mattress, which prevented sleep for one of us. All in all we had a good two week stay. We feel the place needs a fresh lick of paint now, along with a new mat in the kitchen. The TV could do with being tuned in properly without it falling on the holiday makers to do it themselves. The scenery is fantastic as always but I feel the bathroom needs updating too.
Our third visit to Sea View. Previously found the property to be well presented and very clean. However on this visit found overall cleaning standards have fallen considerably. Lounge carpet covered in dog hair. If it had been hoovered not done very well. One of double bedrooms carpet covered in bits and debris had to hoover it ourselves. Used deodorant under one of beds. Bed linen not ironed and bottom sheets on inside out, some old stains also visible. Downstairs shower room a disgrace. Needs a thorough deep clean. Tiles dirty and mouldy. Lots of sand on floor. This property is located close to the Ffestiniog railway station and harbour. It is a comfortable flat but quite small, you will need to do a nifty shuffle around the bed and the shower cubical is small. That having been said I would go again for a short break when you are likely to be out and about a lot. The view from the patio doors across the bay is great but it opens onto the pathway which means people will walk past. We were there out of the mains season so people walking past was very limited
Loved the property, had great character and plenty of room for 13 of us. I would recommend that the owners look at providing fans in the height of the season due to the rooms being very hot, and although a hoover is in the property to keep tidy a mop and bucket would be useful too. (Maybe there was one but we couldn't locate it) The pool was fantastic a good size that could accommodate a large family, much fun was had here. A wonderful holiday with lots of laughter. The property was just ideal and at a reasonable price. I would look at returning in the future with my family.
This is a gorgeous cottage that has been decorated to a high standard. It has everything you need for a few days away with a picturesque garden that has its very own stream. The games room was a hit for my teenagers with a pool table and dart board which entertained them for hours. The only negative is the parking, there is one very tiny space at the side of the house - which did not accommodate our large car. The cottage is on a very busy road so you can hear the traffic noise but this did not spoil our weekend stay. I would highly recommend a stay here.
This cottage is in an amazing location and ideal for enjoying walks around the forest. The drive up to the cottage was a bit harder than expected - taking us about 25 minutes in no more than 2nd gear! (in a Honda Jazz). The cottage was warm, Wifi worked, cooking facilities ok, good shower, and bed comfortable. The downsides were: 1. It could have been cleaner - used towel on back of bedroom door, undies left in bedside drawer and small stain on sheet. Cobwebs round windows. Bath mat looked dirty. 2. Had an excellent stay. Location was brilliant with lovely views and just a short walk from the town. Nice places to eat and the Festiniog railway was the highlight of our stay. Will certainly be back.
The cottage has very comfortable furniture and beds. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, pots and pans etc. The garden patio and hillside garden were lovely and a fabulous place to sit for breakfast and in the evening just listening to the birdsong and looking at the views. (The garden furniture could do with a clean and maybe some cushions to make it more usable.) Useful to have two bathrooms, however neither were in great condition and the showers were very slow. Well appointed cottage with everything you need. Full size fridge freezer and dishwasher. Washer should you need it. Nice to have Sky and decent broadband as little mobile signal (O2). Two toilets. On site parking for one car. Living room faces an open communal grassed area with football goal kids would enjoy, though slightly overlooked from neighbour's patio. One minute walk from glorious view from the harbour. Excellent beach another ten minute walk. Portmadog a short drive away for the supermarket. I enjoyed my stay.
Would have been really great to be able use the fire place as we found the downstairs quite cold. The water was also turned off when we arrived and we couldn't find it in the instructions. We did look around and luckily found the outdoor tap to turn it on. If we could have used the fire place or the house would have been warmer our whole stay would have been much more cosier and nicer.
The views from this apartment are wonderful however we couldn't stay in it because there was an overwhelming toxic smell of cigarette smoking. We had to move apartments as it was so strong and overpowering our health would've been affected. STS Holidays were brilliant in finding us an apartment which was clean and fit to stay in. Very unfortunate as we have stayed on this beautiful site many times and all previous apartments have been really comfortable, clean and satisfactory.
Nice property and location but really poor standard of furniture and fittings throughout, lots of maintenance issues not addressed (raised by others) and hard floors simply not properly cleaned. The property did not come close to justify the weekly rental charge.
