A fabulous position on The Wharf - stunning views from every window! The sofa gave a perfect view of the estuary and little island. We saw egrets, herons and a seal amongst other things ! Nice large private deck too. New furnishings and plenty of crockery etc. Was great to have toilet rolls, kitchen roll, dish cleaning stuff in place and also towels and tea towels. Will definitely be back!
Lovely spacious well equipped property in a great location in Barmouth. Had a lovely holiday here and will definitely return.
Perfect location overlooking the harbour at the front and the railway to the back. The views are to die for and the apartment was extremely comfortable. It is a little gem and highly recommended! We will definitely book this property again and for a longer stay.
This is the second time my family adi have stayed here. It is an absolute gem of a place. It is comfortable and cosy and has everything you can think of. Including amazing views in the front and beautiful countryside in the back. It is in an amazing spot to use as a base everything is reached quickly. Thank you to the owner as it allows my growing family to have some amazing family time! Loved it.
The apt has been very carefully refurbished to a great standard Everything you need The views and tranquillity were great A central base to explore snowndonia or the Llyn peninsula with beautiful beaches so unspoilt Our favourite walk is Borth-y-Gest from the apt around the harbour then through the foot path and Llanbedrog Disappointed the price to go up Snowdon now and no dogs on the train Noticed no free parking since Covid But hope the parking funds goes to keep the area beautiful. We were blessed with fabulous weather
We enjoyed our stay at Sampson’s place. The bungalow was large airy and had a comfortable feeling. Bed and settee comfortable and clean. It had everything that we needed. Enjoyed the little garden where we filled the bird feeders and watched a variety of birds come to feed. No TV instructions. And if I’m really looking for something to say the kitchen tiles were not particularly clean. This doesn’t bother us as I don’t cook on holiday. The toaster and microwave were fine,
The fact that this was our 33rd stay says it all! The wonderful view is ever changing yet always the same.
A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a break away from everything. Clean and comfortable kitchen and living room and a big garden where my dog was in his element! Only 2 single beds in one room to sleep in though - was a bit of a squeeze for an adult! Nonetheless, a lovely place and a warm welcome.
What an amazing little place with so many traditional features that add to the experience of feeling at one with the views. We used the cottage as a base for doing the zip world events with both sites being under an hour away. The cottage is very homely with a lovely family kitchen to cook and eat in then cosy down in the lounge together with the open fire crackling away. We will be back again
We were a family of 9 spending a very pleasant week in the old farmhouse. Everything we needed was provided and the house felt comfortable and relaxing. The railway station was on our doorstep when we wanted a break from driving and there were lovely walks in the area.
This was our family's 3rd visit to Treetops, so that should tell you they enjoy staying there- and we always visited them. This year 3 octagenarians (parents and uncle of the above) stayed in the Garden flat - suprised how much bigger it is! For us it is like coming home as we owned a property in Borth-y- Gest for 20yrs. We have found this property far superior than any other we have stayed in, in Portmadog which we continue to visit regularly.
This place was ideal for us, modern and spacious . It was very well equipped. Location is perfect for North Wales exploration. Walking distance to caernarfon. I would love to stay here again.
Our stay at Tan Llan Cottage was just perfect! It was cosy, comfortable, and clean, and had everything we needed. The cottage is also in a great location for exploring other parts of North Wales with many attractions being within 30 minutes or less of the property. The cottage has also undergone a recent refurbishment which has been completed to a high standard. We would highly recommend staying here.
Garden Flat is my home from home We have been coming here many years and it is just perfect. Gwen and all of the staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely love our stays in our happy place ❤️
Excellent stay in Snowdonia. Good customer service, cottage was lovely, only regret, not long enough . Thanks
The fact that this was the 4th time this year that we have stayed at no. 82 Glaslyn Harbour Views says it all. It is the place we go to to get away from it all and yet be in the right place to get to so many interesting and beautiful places. You can go and visit a variety of places or stay and be comfortable while still looking at a beautiful view, with things going on. Can't wait for our next visit.
This is our second time of staying at Treetops. The flat is well equipped and comfortable and you feel like you are at home. Gwen, the owner was very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The flat is perfectly located in Porthmadog, near the Ffestiniog Railway. We look forward to staying again in the future.
Very pleasant stay. Clean, tidy, everything we needed and the layout of Zig Zag cottage kept me fit, ( up & down the stairs). It even confused the dogs for the first couple of days. Very friendly helpful hosts.
It's lovely to arrive and find some fresh milk in the fridge with tea and coffee for relief after the long journey!
The cottage was roomy and very comfortable. The location was stunning, with a large garden and wonderful views.
The Captain’s Beach House is beautiful! The house is warm, cosy, clean, comfortable and has the most wonderful views. The house is stylishly furnished, with plenty of seating and comfortable beds. The views, out towards the sea are outstanding. It’s a mere stone’s throw from the shore and we saw some stunning, autumnal sunsets. We saw plenty of birds and daily visits from seals. We enjoyed a tasty and reasonably priced lunch at The Newborough Arms, 6 miles away - booking is recommended. The Captain’s Beach house provides a relaxing, well equipped base to either tour the area, of just sit and a...more
A clean comfortable cottage in a good area with access to walks from the door. Owner was friendly and helpful
This is the second time we've stayed here, so that's telling you something. It's good property in a lovely location and it's clean and welcoming. The only issues (& they are minor) is that the chairs get a bit uncomfortable for watching television and we struggled with the firestick. Other than that, it was great.
I've been coming to stay at Porthmadog for a good number of years now. All places I've stayed in the town have been great, but this apartment really blows them out of the water. Came to stay here last week for 4 nights, and I strongly consider it THE best place I've stayed at to date. Ridiculously stunning views from the balcony, excellent kitchen utilities, comfy beds, it's got it all. And a really good & fair price to top it off. 10/10 would recommend this property to anyone wanting to spend a holiday here. Great for solo travellers, couples and families! Will definitely be booking it ...more
Visited this apartment for at least the last seven years. Very comfortable and ideally located for our needs.
We had a great stay here, the views are amazing and the location is great with easy access to the forest.
This apartment was in an excellent location for 4 train enthusiasts with stunning views over the harbour. The apartment was well equipped although we were surprised that 'towels' did not include for the kitchen - fortunately my wife had brought some. The negatives we will take away did not spoil our stay but feel they need to be addressed:- The bed in the master bedroom was creaky and both the mattress and pillows have surely seen better days. The socket extension and small shelf at side of the bed were very badly placed and the cable channeling to this socket had come out of the wall with t...more
A wonderful stay. Great location close to 3 pubs, a bistro serving amazing food, village shop and ice cream parlour. Beddgelert is truly a beautiful village with a river and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Snowdon walks are only 15 minutes drive. The cottage is lovely. Very well equipped, great shower and bath and comfy beds. I would highly recommend. We will definitely return!
The shower was faulty, kept turning off and on, meaning hot then freezing. The extractor fan in the shower room did not work. The extractor fan over the cooker did not work, nor did the light. For autumn, even with the storage heaters on, chilly. The tv was fine if you only want to watch BBC1. Surprisingly, able to pick up the other channels on my iPad through the same WiFi connection. Shortage of tea spoons - only 4 in a property advertised for 5 people.
Situated in an isolated wooded setting with a long winding access track through forest this is the perfect quite retreat for those who love nature.
We loved our stay at this property. The views were magnificent. We did however have to go and buy some more pillows as the ones provided were a bit flat. We also had problems with the TV. I noted this has been commented on before. However I wasn't very impressed with the customer service when we rang STS for assistance. They were not very helpful at all.
This cottage’s location is perfect - for Snowdon/Snowdonia, Anglesey, the excellent beaches, Porthmadog, and all the wonderful areas of North Wales, as well as being situated in such a gorgeous village. Relaxing in the garden watching the river flow by was rewarding, although the sunny week we had helped. Slight musty smell in main bedroom but overall cottage was very comfortable and very clean. Kitchen had every utensil, crockery, pot and pan needed and all very clean. Used fire once and it added to the ambience of being such a gorgeous, cozy place to stay.
All great but WiFi poor.2 bathrooms were very handy. It was nice to be able to look out overlooking the river.
Very clean and in a convenient position. Bathroom window would not close properly and bathroom basin tap very stiff. I reported these, but surely the cleaning crew should have done this. We were asked if the faults could be dealt with while we stayed but I refused as it would have been time off our holiday. There was a problem with the key safe, but this was corrected quickly. All the people I spoke to at the office were helpful and apologetic.
Property was well located. Bathroom clean and modern. Kitchen clean and modern, more crockery would have been useful (only four plates bowls etc). Frying pans dirty - need replacing. Double bedroom clean and spacious. Two single bedrooms very small. Lounge spacious but display cabinet and bookcase empty (apart from a thick layer of dust). Numerous holes in the ceilings and walls where hooks/screws/nails had been removed and holes not filled in. A few more pictures on the walls, some books on the bookshelves and some ornaments in the display cabinet would have made it more appealing.
Lovely accommodation with absolutely amazing views ! Nice private garden and decking to sit & enjoy the view! We had a lovely time in the very comfortable accommodation. The views & sunsets were breathtaking! Good communication from the company and the owner! Very satisfied and would love to go back! Thank you!
Cosy warm cottage, quirky and interesting, friendly neighbours, steam train at the bottom of the garden, a lovely stay.
Hi, we loved our stay. The views were great, accommodation lovely. There were a couple of things that weren't clean but when I emailed, they were extremely quite to resolve. The sofa wasn't amazingly comfortable, but ok . All in all we loved our time in this accommodation
First impressions:Entrance is at the rear of the property, where the dustbins are and that area could do with a good clean up. Not welcoming. However the apartment, once in, was very clean throughout (a definite plus) though dated but cared for furniture. It was evident the owners look after their property. Excellent view from the floor to ceiling windows. This window showed the position of the apartment in relation to the amenities of Porthmadog. These windows opened easily. (See below). Kitchen was well equipped. Please note the oven door will not stay open when in use if we needed to check ...more
The mill is in a great location for visits to all of the Llyn peninsula and Menai area. We found it to be comfortable and well equipped if a little dark ( not surprising for a converted mill). The inclusion of the fishing passes made us wish we could fish. The rivers are very beautiful in this area we will return soon.
We always stay in the Village as the location is perfect. We always have the same house that backs onto the river. We were sad it was not available this trip. First time staying in this cottage and we were over the moon how beautiful and comfortable it was. We will defo be booking this cottage again.
Thanks for a great stay. Great location and lovely property. Few bits to make you aware of: The front room had been cleaned but not under the table or sofa, which we did. The property has Netflix but you need an account. Might be worth referencing that in the detail. The person I spoke to when I booked was excellent. First class. I had a call when shopping with kids late Friday re the recycling. I appreciate the person I spoke to didn’t want to talk to me at 6pm before the weekend but getting hung up on was not ideal to finish our holiday experience… Wish you all the best...more
We step through the door and we’re immediately on holiday. A very homely and welcoming villa and those views …….
Very clean, comfortable and cosy. Well appointed and good location with great views. Every day we would have breakfast, dinner and morning coffee watching the river and mountains through the large windows and, when the weather allowed, on the patio.
Second stay at this apartment. Such a brilliant location with stunning views. Warm, comfortable and quiet. Will be back next year! Thank you.
Cosy ground floor flat with patio door opening onto a small private patio and the promenade (marina residents only). Short walk to town, passing the Ffestiniog/WHR narrow gauge railway station.
Location wise, you can’t beat this cottage. The views are AMAZING. As are the garden facilities. The owner was also incredibly helpful with tips for walks and days out. We did find the kitchen needed better cleaning and the cottage seems to struggle with damp so getting things dry is challenging, there is however a tumble drier provided.
Another lovely stay at the quarterdeck. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We love staying in borth y gest is like a home from home . Hope to be back again in the foreseeable future .
The only thing I think could be improved would be to rearrange the kitchen cupboards to provide room for food items---we left things on the worktop which was inconvenient & untidy. Apart from that, if you could provide better weather.........!
Had electrical problems twice, lack of cooking utensils, one baking tray decustin state, worldrob smell of damp and musky, toilet lid doesn't fit bowl, wallpaper peeling in hall. No catch on door lock you had to make shaw you had the keys to go out, you had to be careful when going out of the patio door in the morning because people above let their dog wee on the bowcany, nearly got wet once going out. Had many flats in this area over the years this I'm sorry to say is the worst. Sts office very good and helpful regarding problems. R Fensome.
We enjoyed our annual autumn visit to Porthmadog, perhaps a little later this year. The flat was excellent as usual, with all that is required to act as a base to enjoy this scenic part of the country. We had a minor niggle with the toilet cistern, but this was resolved very quickly (thank you!), and was not a concern. We suffered from the mystery of disappearing teaspoons, but again we were provided with some more immediately. The view from the panoramic window and balcony was as good as we remembered, and the estuary birds always provided entertainment as the tide comes in and recedes. ...more
The furniture was a nice style and feels quite homely. Unfortunately though, there was a large amount of dust in a few places in the house. The double bedroom wardrobe on top had a large layer of dust and the oven top in the kitchen and some of the storage heaters and lights. The heating was quite tricky to turn on and off when needed in the day as couldn't find the timer in the airing cupboard where mentioned. The kitchen had a lovely style but sadly is very small and struggled to get myself and partner in there due to the small space in there. The double bed mattress sadly was uncomfortable a...more
Charming chalet on the beach. A good size for 4 people. A bit draughty, but we never had the heaters on in late May. Good phone signal (with Vodafone) so lack of WiFi isn't a problem. Very well equipped kitchen. All the things that are often missing that we brought along weren't needed. Despite all the reviews mentioning dogs it didn't smell of dogs. Amazing view.
Fab cottage, although a little dated, but well equipped and the garden is spectacular. We will happily go back. Fantastic location for many thinks and the train line is a must to visit the villages it services.
The accomodation was reaaly nice, clean and tidy. Location is excellent, but a bit awkward to find. The organisors were really friendly and helpfull. Thanx for a wonderfull stay.
Beautiful location and outlook over the harbour. Good size, comfortable lounge/kitchen area for single or couple. Easy shopping and facilities within walking distance. Perfect for exploring the narrow gauge railways and wildlife around Porthmadog and Snowdonia.
We wanted a base within the Snowdonia National Park that offered access to North Wales and easy access to the vicinity. What an amazing find! A beautiful cottage, finished to a wonderful standard with excellent facilities. The games room was a huge hit with my teenagers; pool table and darts being daily activities with a tournament score kept during our stay! Very comfortable, really modern and well equipped. Love the images of the refurbishment in the downstairs wc. Only slight downside is the busy road which gets a little noisy when you want to open the windows but really a minor point...more
It was a great place to stay brilliant view. We went on the railway only a ten minute walk. Easy to get to plenty of place to see. Nice places to eat near by. I would definitely return again if I am in the area.
This flat has been upgraded since we last rented it several years ago. The location is ideal for us, although the climb up to it doesn't get any easier. We hope to be able to stay there again before too long.
We stayed at this fantastic house in October 2024. The location is incredible with wonderful sea views and the beach close by. As we have a couple of dogs this was brilliant and we would recommend it for any owners of four legged friends. The house itself is in good condition and was clean on arrival. There were a couple of minor issues with the upkeep of the house itself but nothing to impact the overall enjoyment. There is plenty of space for up to 6 people and separate bathrooms and toilets is a major bonus. Overall we would recommend this property to any family looking to explore North W...more
Very well furnished apartment tastefully decorated. The panoramic view that literally blew our mind as if an artist painted all that outstanding beauty.Could sit and stare at it for hours no end. The only thing that needs to be improved is the patio area.It has got potential to look much better. Would certainly come back to this lovely haven of charm and quiet
The cottage felt very homely - we loved it. It had everything you could need and more. Very thoughtful of the owners. The beds were very comfortable.
Everything was clean and tidy, and everything worked well. I think we have stayed with STS before, and I dare say we probably will again. Great location - good views of trains and birds.
We really enjoyed our stay in Green cottage .It was a perfect home to return to each day after exploring the wonderful local area. It’s a warm, comfortable home in a perfect location. Thank you for letting us stay ,we will definitely be returning to Borth y gest and would book again if the house is available.
Peaceful few days enjoying a much-loved part of the world in a traditional miner’s cottage. Thank you
This cottage is in an amazing location and ideal for enjoying walks around the forest. The drive up to the cottage was a bit harder than expected - taking us about 25 minutes in no more than 2nd gear! (in a Honda Jazz). The cottage was warm, Wifi worked, cooking facilities ok, good shower, and bed comfortable. The downsides were: 1. It could have been cleaner - used towel on back of bedroom door, undies left in bedside drawer and small stain on sheet. Cobwebs round windows. Bath mat looked dirty. 2. Left front ring on gas hob will not stay lit 3. DVD player not working 4. Fridge/free...more
The flat is well equipped and in a splendid location - we keep coming back! It is always clean and well-presented. The long anticipated bathroom upgrade would be welcome. STS staff were as helpful as ever - many thanks.
Would have been really great to be able use the fire place as we found the downstairs quite cold. The water was also turned off when we arrived and we couldn't find it in the instructions. We did look around and luckily found the outdoor tap to turn it on. If we could have used the fire place or the house would have been warmer our whole stay would have been much more cosier and nicer.
The flat was clean and comfortable and the views were stunning but a couple of minor things were irritating, the cutting knives were very blunt and although there was a vacuum cleaner the tools were missing so we were unable to hoover up before we left.
