We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. I'm guessing that area around the mill was quieter than normal due to the closure of the nearby Shrub Club bar although this is to reopen in a new guise soon. Don't park under the trees in the car park unless you want your car covered in bird droppings! The accommodation was a little quirky which we liked and generally had everything we required and more. We were impressed with the bed as this was large and very comfortable.
Just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay at the mill visiting family in new mills we cannot wait to return . Incredible location and accommodation Easy check in check out 3 large double bedrooms great views from each window with the millennium walkway right outside 2 large bathrooms Great dining and relaxing space for 6 adults plus a great outdoor space For entertaining also lots of walks/runs on your doorstep ample parking too If you have time on visiting new mills we highly recommend hiring a self drive barge for the day at ABC new mills Marina from the lovely Sue it was su...more
The fireman’s cottage is beautiful and quaint with original features of the mill. It is in an amazing location for walks and near to the town centre where there are lots of eateries and The Tap Bar and Cheese Wheel are on your doorstep. Dogs are welcome and our Beddie had a whale of a time walking along the Goyt daily. The only let down was the bathroom as the shower is very poor (cheap plastic shower head which doesn’t have any power) and when you come back from a walk a good shower is a must. This would however not prevent me from returning or recommending this beautiful property.
Very nice accommodation, very clean, all in an historic location! Comfortable rooms. Nice proximity to the tap house!
