lovely bright and airy space, clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Well equipped - would stay again!
We arrived on a cold winter evening in December. The house was beautifully lit and importantly, warm. The parking is tight but that’s to be expected in Wells, there’s room for two Golf size cars. The two living areas are both excellent, we lit the log burner in one which added to the coziness. All bedrooms are excellent, as are the bathrooms. We cooked large meals in the kitchen, it was very well equipped. The little garden would be lovely in the summer, if it were me, I would probably invest in upgrading this part of the property further as it’s a great size, however it was perfect for our wi...more
The place is pleasantly larger than the pictures had looked and everything was in good condition. Shops within a 10 min drive and we like the place very much. Well set up. Thanks all!
Beautiful little hideaway in a charming village setting. Only negative comment is that the sofa is not very comfortable but a minor issue. Local pub, The Red Lion, were very welcoming and the food excellent. Carol singing on Christmas Eve was lovely. Christmas tree set up in the cottage was a thoughtful touch, as well as the wood burner set and ready to be fired up. Would we visit again……yes definitely.
We had a wonderful time in Blakeney. The house was lovely and clean, well presented with plenty of utensils and kitchenware. The benefit of having 2 en-suite bedrooms was super for us being 2 couples staying there. The owner left us some goodies to enjoy. The weather was perfect for making use of the patio garden. There is plenty of cafes and pubs serving good food nearby. Lovely places to visit on the doorstep.
Very quiet cottage in lovely spot. Stiffkey stores and Red Lion within walking distance and worth a visit. Cottage garden beautiful. Many places of interest nearby to visit. Front room not enough lights - very hard to read, especially if eyesight poor, and lamp wasn't working. Small bedroom would benefit from chest of drawers rather than large table and chair There was no visitor comment book that we could find which is always useful to see others suggestions Limited info on walks in area
Stiffkey is an ideal location to explore the North Norfolk coast though preferably outside summer school holidays as the road gets very congested. Flint cottage is a great location as offers 2 parking spaces, easy walk to the store, pub and onto the marshes. The cottage easily accommodates 4 adults with the garden going down to the River Stiffkey where you can sit and watch the wildlife with kingfishers on the river and hares and barn owls in the fields opposite
We have had a lovely stay at the wash house fantastic weather peace and quiet and very comfortable and everything you would need for a perfect stay and very relaxing place great location handy for visiting many places. We have stayed at Rookery farm multi times now and are planning spending many more time here.
Love coming back to garden cottage. Even the dog feels at home straight away. Good location for sight seeing. So much to do. I'm sure we will be back.
Arrived to find the place totally uncleaned from the previous guests, phoned the number on the folder, they seemed surprised and said they had issues with software (if you know there are problems wouldn't you double check the bookings?), anyway they turned up after an hour and blitzed the whole house in little over half hour and apologised. The real annoying thing came when we went to the main bedroom and realised they had not changed the bedding as there was pubic hairs in the bed as well as sand grains! luckily there was a washing machine in the garage so we had to wash the bedding and sleep...more
Very enjoyable stay in a location we know well made even better by the weather!! Would recommend property and the two nearby pubs for food.
Cottage is located right on the main road which can get very busy and traffic noise really disturbing. I left a day early because I couldn't put up with the noise any longer. Inside was clean but a bit scruffy e.g. the curtains don't fit very well. The lighting isn't good, one small table lamp in each room which isn't bright enough to read by and the main overhead lights very bright and not particularly relaxing. The shower could do with a usable shelf as everything has to go on the floor. The little garden is pretty and secure for dogs and there is plenty of equipment.
I booked this fabulous property to celebrate my husbands birthday along with family & friends. A total of 10 of us & our dog. We were all very impressed. The accommodation was spotless clean. The rooms were all perfect for us as a group as the younger group stayed in part of the rooms & us oldies the other side. Bathroom were perfect and again spotless clean. The garden area was again perfect for the dog being secure We only used 1 door to gain entry etc although there was 2 and a street door Easy to find with good instructions what to look for. And have to say felt photos didn’t d...more
Return visit to Harvey cottage. Comfortable accommodation, great location. Shower in bathroom could do with updating .
We had a very enjoyable week, electric heating provided ample warmth, well equipped kitchen, great garden.
Excellent location for touring the area, although the property does back on to the main coastal road. Very nice and cosy cottage which is well equipped. Mattresses in both bedrooms not comfortable for a good sleep and do need replacing. Lighting in the bathroom could do to be brighter. Very enjoyable stay.
Let’s start with the positives, the location is lovely, the size of the garden is hard to beat and the property itself is nice and large, it does feel very spacious. It’s only after a while you start to notice where improvements could be made and notice those missing little touches for the money you’ve paid. The beds were okay but only double sized, most properties at this price level have at least a couple of king sized beds. The windows are all a bit old, you can’t leave any open just a fraction at night, not securely anyway. The locks on the large kitchen patios, none work, you have to u...more
A nice house in a quiet area from where you can cycle wonderfully. Both inland and to the coast. Upon arrival there was a nice surprise on the table consisting of local products and a nice bottle of wine.
We really enjoyed the stay, the beds were very comfortable and everything was there that needed to be and all worked really well. It was a perfect spot to allow us to explore the Norfolk coast and also go to Sheringham Park. It was perfect short stay for our family of 5 and our Dog. Would happily come back and stay there again
After a nice stay in Bolt Hole we left for the Riding Stable. A nice house in a beautiful place with lots of space for the 2 of us. We often had breakfast in the morning sun and cycled a lot in the beautiful surroundings. And not to forget, thanks for the delicious and nice welcome package!
The location of this place is excellent- it’s got a pub nearly next door, a lovely shop and is a few minutes drive from Wells and various other beaches. We thought the cleanliness wasn’t great- my mum arrived and re hoovered various places as it seemed like it hadn’t had a proper clean in a while. We had taken our own pillows and left them on the floor next to the bed and they looked dirty from just sitting on the floor. The house is very well thought out in various ways- outside is a bbq, crab buckets and lines, buckets and spades. There are a few games and a dvd player but sadly no ca...more
We really enjoyed our holiday in Norfolk staying in Rose Cottage. We loved the location, the garden, the comfy bed and having two bathrooms. The cottage was well equipped and clean. We were slightly concerned about parking right on the road and would not have wanted to get children in and out of the car. Useful feedback to owners/managers - the seal around kitchen sink plug has perished meaning sink won't hold water. Needs replacement or provide washing up bowl. Garden shrubs and hedges were very overgrown and untidy. The garden would be amazing with a bit of a tidy up. Some fencing damage a...more
This is the second year we have stayed at Cley Corner Cottage. Many aspects of it are ideal, in particular the location, but we were a bit disconcerted to find no updates since last year. The broken shelf in the fridge door and the shortage of food storage space in the kitchen had an impact because we prefer to eat in rather than out in the evenings. The fridge was packed to capacity and other food supplies were stored on the window sill and in the shopping bags. Additionally, many of the frying pans do not have flat bottoms which makes their use on the ceramic hob very difficult. Most o...more
We have stayed at April Cottage twice this year the first being in March my only criticism then was that a handrail would be good for the shower area in the bath. I was pleased to see that one had been installed upon our arrival for our latest stay. The Cottage has everything you need for your base in North Norfolk. Comfortable, quiet with plenty of room for 3 or 4 adults. It's well equipped and there is a decent pub within a short walk. Fakenham is only 10 minutes away where you will find a large Tesco for all your needs.
