Lovely cottage. Just a few suggestions of items we think should be at the cottage: There was no iron & ironing board - we had no ironed clothes with us. No broom to sweep up outside entrance door - tree over entrance has many pigeons etc and there’s a lot of droppings and berries from the tree which you can’t avoid walking through. No trivets/pot stands or table mats in the kitchen to protect wooden table and work tops - the wood was a little sticky after wiping down so may need treatment of some sort. All that said, we’d book to stay again!
Owl barn was perfect for what we needed. In a great location within a few minutes walk of morston quay, opposite morston hall and near by all the main places to go. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.
Location was ideal for walking and cycling. Close the the lovely coast and key places to visit. Handy to have a couple of pubs for food and something to drink within 15 mins walk, Sheringham Park is less than half an hour walk too. A very comfortable stay with Halcyon House providing good facilities and space for a group of 5 adults. A quiet location as nicely into the village and so away from the main road.
Beautiful little hideaway in a charming village setting. Only negative comment is that the sofa is not very comfortable but a minor issue. Local pub, The Red Lion, were very welcoming and the food excellent. Carol singing on Christmas Eve was lovely. Christmas tree set up in the cottage was a thoughtful touch, as well as the wood burner set and ready to be fired up. Would we visit again……yes definitely.
We spent a most enjoyable week in Legion Cottage. The location, just off the High Street is quiet despite being adjacent to the British Legion/Harbour Rooms. The house is well equipped with appliances and well maintained. Both bedrooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms and there’s a WC downstairs! Beds are very comfortable and there’s an ample supply of towels. The kitchen could do with more (less stained) mugs but that’s a minor detail. We visited with daughter and grandson and found the cottage excellent in all respects. The accommodation is welcoming, warm (mid-Feb) and suited us well, with enough space for privacy (3 toilets in total - undersold in description!) and great cooking facilities. Garden is beautiful - would be wonderful in summer - and lovely views (husband saw rare bird from bedroom window). Location is also excellent - just a few minutes’ drive from Cley, a pleasant morning’s walk to Wells along coastal path, bus stops just outside, and coffee shop/general stores next door is a fantastic asset. We have an amazing week at Garden Cottage, the weather was brilliant! The cottage as before was just perfect, everything we needed! the garden is a sun trap, we enjoyed a couple of BBQ's sitting in the garden until quite late. We are looking forward to returning very soon.
Returning customer. The barn has everything you need for extended family and dog. Very clean and spacious with all mod cons. Perfect location for north Norfolk coast and National Trust properties. Really quiet. Blessed with good weather. Felt a much longer break- very relaxing - will be back.
This cottage is lovely and in a great location for visiting coast and inland locations. Aerial may need checking as TV signal breaking up quite a bit. (those pigeons are pretty hefty)
Lovely cosy cottage, well-equipped and with interesting decor, clearly a loved and used cottage. We enjoyed our stay and being able to walk to the coast path and get a local bus so easily at the bus stop by the gate. Warm enough to have an afternoon in the little garden with interesting plants. Our arrival was slightly marred by finding the toilet pan was soiled and needed cleaning, and the kitchen floor and worktops seemed sticky. Cottage is located right on the main road which can get very busy and traffic noise really disturbing. I left a day early because I couldn't put up with the noise any longer. Inside was clean but a bit scruffy e.g. the curtains don't fit very well. The lighting isn't good, one small table lamp in each room which isn't bright enough to read by and the main overhead lights very bright and not particularly relaxing. The shower could do with a usable shelf as everything has to go on the floor. The little garden is pretty and secure for dogs and there is plenty of equipment.
A very convenient location. Kitchen equipment poor in some cases. I have serious food allergies and need small saucepans,cheese grater ,veg peeler,fish slice please. Didn’t realise bathroom was downstairs. Comfortable beds and sofas. Great parking. Customer service from Norfolk Stays was very good ,thank you.
Very nice cottage we have stayed here twice now and never disappoints very cosy clean and its perfect for our dogs , I am sure we will be back again in next November thanks again mr ward
Cleanliness could have been better coffee machine was dirty and there was some dirty tea towels in the washingmachine that had been left.The main bathroom upstairs could do with a proper shower and screen not ideal holding the shower head when showing. The bbq had not been emptied from the last visitors so we used disposable bbq trays.
A great location for a joint birthday celebration. Very comfortable and cosy accommodation in a lovely rural setting.
Enjoyed our stay at Chaff House Location is great for coast and inland walks Kitchen is well supplied with equipment but limited food storage areas plus the lighting was very poor The lounge/dining area is spacious with large comfy sofas - this is the best feature of the property Upstairs is cramped with small bedrooms. Double mattress very uncomfortable ie needs replacing and very dusty underneath bed indicating hadn’t been cleaned for a while The house is linked to another so could occasionally hear neighbours
Spent 4 nights in Wells . Property in good location to walk to harbour and shops. On three floors so need to be mobile enough to manage stairs. There is a toilet on each floor. Beds are comfortable . Parking is a bonus , but isn’t allocated. A small car can be parked outside the garage but it’s tight. A good property for a family as lots of space
Accommodation wonderful. Beautiful setting and very quite. Ideal having one bedroom and shower room downstairs. Location great for visiting the area. On the doorstep to everything. Weather was lovely. Would definitely return. Thank you for the Welcome treats and milk in the fridge. We had a great time.
A lovely stay, the bolthole was clean and had everything we needed. Great outdoor space for my dog. Perfect location to visit lots of places in north Norfolk. We cannot wait to return!

We had a lovely stay at Rose cottage, it was perfectly clean and the beds were super comfy. The cottage has everything you could need, it was like being at home, it is so well furnished and equipped even down to the garden furniture/bbq etc and the garden was secure for my labrador, parking outside was not a problem and it was really easy to unload the car. We loved the area and the village and nearby Burnham Market was really handy to pick up supplies. We would definitely love to come back one day
We loved our week at Christmas here. The Cottage was clean, comfortable, cosy and warm with great views of tge saltmarshes. The log burner wasn't used as the heating was very efficient. A wonderful spot for bird watching and walking the NNorfolk coast path. Salthouse Stores a must. Complimentary treats on arrival. Would go back anytime of the year.
Light and airy cottage with a lovely outside courtyard Location is in quiet village, so a car is a must. I would not recommend the cottage for elderly or infirm as the stairs are painted (so could be slippery) narrow, and the head height is limited also. The main bedroom is roomy with plenty of storage, the bed is comfortable, the sheets are not they are bobbly and prickly, I had to sleep on my dressing gown. Bathroom is roomy, nice shower although the sealant is grubby and needs replacing, limited storage which I would suggest improving. Nice fluffy white towels which smelt so nice. Th...more
