lovely bright and airy space, clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Well equipped - would stay again!
We arrived on a cold winter evening in December. The house was beautifully lit and importantly, warm. The parking is tight but that’s to be expected in Wells, there’s room for two Golf size cars. The two living areas are both excellent, we lit the log burner in one which added to the coziness. All bedrooms are excellent, as are the bathrooms. We cooked large meals in the kitchen, it was very well equipped. The little garden would be lovely in the summer, if it were me, I would probably invest in upgrading this part of the property further as it’s a great size, however it was perfect for our wi...more
The place is pleasantly larger than the pictures had looked and everything was in good condition. Shops within a 10 min drive and we like the place very much. Well set up. Thanks all!
Lovely cottage and location, and beautiful Christmas decorations, thank you. Wish we could have stayed a few days longer !
The house was very clean, tidy and in good condition. Great view from the 1st floor living area. Had deer visiting the pond on most days. Convenient location for all amenities that Wells has to offer. Really enjoyed our stay there.
Beautiful little hideaway in a charming village setting. Only negative comment is that the sofa is not very comfortable but a minor issue. Local pub, The Red Lion, were very welcoming and the food excellent. Carol singing on Christmas Eve was lovely. Christmas tree set up in the cottage was a thoughtful touch, as well as the wood burner set and ready to be fired up. Would we visit again……yes definitely.
Lovely relaxing week even though weather turned cooler. Cottage very clean and comfortable. Arrival instructions were clear (although we have stayed previously so know set up). Great to have dedicated parking space in Blakeney. Kitchen very well equipped although didn’t cook much as so many lovely places to eat locally. Lots to do in area. Will be back in future
For our five night stay at Honey Barrel Cottage in Stiffkey, we were extremely pleased with our choice of accommodation and its location in a beautiful part of North Norfolk. The cottage certainly lived up to our expectations, both in its quaintness and character, being typical of the area. The accommodation was very clean and provided all the provisions one would need when self catering; there was even basic food stuffs and complementary milk and biscuits. A very cosy place to stay, set within a courtyard surrounded by other individual flint cottages, this was perfect to soak up the atmospher...more
Very quiet cottage in lovely spot. Stiffkey stores and Red Lion within walking distance and worth a visit. Cottage garden beautiful. Many places of interest nearby to visit. Front room not enough lights - very hard to read, especially if eyesight poor, and lamp wasn't working. Small bedroom would benefit from chest of drawers rather than large table and chair There was no visitor comment book that we could find which is always useful to see others suggestions Limited info on walks in area
Stayed there for a month , due to work on my flat . Nice quiet area . Really nice place rooms nice and big… comfortable beds a sofa , loved the walk in shower . Kitchen has everything you need . Garden looked nice also . The only annoying bit I found was working the heating … all in all was a lovely place to stay would definitely recommend…
this is a spendid cottage the christmas thee that they supplied was a grand surprise!! we will return soon
We had a lovely stay in Butterfly Barn, helped enormously by the beautiful weather! We really enjoyed the location. It was very peaceful but close to everything we wanted. The service from Norfolk Stay was excellent. The barn was very clean, well equipped but felt a bit tired and unloved. A few little extra touches would have made our stay feel a bit more special. We will definitely come back to Norfolk and will book with Norfolk Stay but we won’t come back to Butterfly Barn.
Lovely cottage in quiet rural location. Perfect for walks with the dogs. Great pub in West Beckham.
Chaff House is a very warm and comfortable property with spacious living areas. The location is very peaceful but with easy access to the beautiful coastline and lovely small towns. We would highly recommend this property.
This cosy cottage was perfect for 2adults and our dog, not far from lovely beach walks, restaurant’s food shopping etc, bathrooms are lovely handy one downstairs small kitchen but nice I would recommend a short break here.
Tranquil setting, beautiful buildings & lovely secure garden. Interiors are tired & in need of full refurbishment. Would have been nice to have a clear map showing foot paths etc accessible from the barns. Children’s play area was closed which was very disappointing (& no prior warning).
We had a very enjoyable week, electric heating provided ample warmth, well equipped kitchen, great garden.
Excellent location for touring the area, although the property does back on to the main coastal road. Very nice and cosy cottage which is well equipped. Mattresses in both bedrooms not comfortable for a good sleep and do need replacing. Lighting in the bathroom could do to be brighter. Very enjoyable stay.
Let’s start with the positives, the location is lovely, the size of the garden is hard to beat and the property itself is nice and large, it does feel very spacious. It’s only after a while you start to notice where improvements could be made and notice those missing little touches for the money you’ve paid. The beds were okay but only double sized, most properties at this price level have at least a couple of king sized beds. The windows are all a bit old, you can’t leave any open just a fraction at night, not securely anyway. The locks on the large kitchen patios, none work, you have to u...more
The location of this place is excellent- it’s got a pub nearly next door, a lovely shop and is a few minutes drive from Wells and various other beaches. We thought the cleanliness wasn’t great- my mum arrived and re hoovered various places as it seemed like it hadn’t had a proper clean in a while. We had taken our own pillows and left them on the floor next to the bed and they looked dirty from just sitting on the floor. The house is very well thought out in various ways- outside is a bbq, crab buckets and lines, buckets and spades. There are a few games and a dvd player but sadly no ca...more
We have stayed in one of the other cottages near to the bolt hole, so we knew it was in a lovely area, close to the coast and Sheringham Park. The cottage was very nicely decorated and it had a good layout. The welcome pack was very pleasant and the facilities, including tea, coffee and milk etc provided were excellent. Only small niggles were the tv reception (plus remote) was a bit hit and miss, the oven had just one shelf in it (making Christmas dinner a challenge!) and the shower/water didn’t get very hot. If these issues are resolved, it would be excellent.
Upon arrival, coffee needed but machine was dirty and full of old used pods. Overflowing to the point the handle wouldn't even open. Had to do a complete clean first. Opened dishwasher door, the whole thing stank. Had to put on an empty wash cycle before using to get rid of smell. Then had to wash cups and mugs, some plates and fishes as had dried debris on the. The dishwasher doesn't clean unless on a long wash cycle. This needs sorting or advice to guests to use long cycle. Sink in upstairs bathroom full of debris. Other people's hair etc clogging sinkhole so water doesn't flow away well. Bat...more
We really enjoyed our holiday in Norfolk staying in Rose Cottage. We loved the location, the garden, the comfy bed and having two bathrooms. The cottage was well equipped and clean. We were slightly concerned about parking right on the road and would not have wanted to get children in and out of the car. Useful feedback to owners/managers - the seal around kitchen sink plug has perished meaning sink won't hold water. Needs replacement or provide washing up bowl. Garden shrubs and hedges were very overgrown and untidy. The garden would be amazing with a bit of a tidy up. Some fencing damage a...more
Great location to explore the north Norfolk coast and just a few miles from the pretty village of Holt. Nice enclosed garden at the ‘back’, secure for the dog . Ideal having a downstair Bedroom and shower room for my less mobile in law’s. Although kitchen quite small in comparison to the rest of the barn, it was very well equipped. The Wheatsheaf in the next village (less than 0.5 mile walk) was very good and catered well for those in the group with gluten free requirements. Would return if staying in the area again.
Cley Cottage was fantastic for us. Dog friendly. Good big enclosed garden (though not if your dog really wants to jump the short hedge), lovely simple decor and so cosy and calm. Right next to fantastic pub and lovely village with nice local shop. Right on the coast road so can walk straight out onto marsh and then do trips to all the wonderful places and beaches nearby. Great communication and customer service and all in all a really special stay.
We have stayed at April Cottage twice this year the first being in March my only criticism then was that a handrail would be good for the shower area in the bath. I was pleased to see that one had been installed upon our arrival for our latest stay. The Cottage has everything you need for your base in North Norfolk. Comfortable, quiet with plenty of room for 3 or 4 adults. It's well equipped and there is a decent pub within a short walk. Fakenham is only 10 minutes away where you will find a large Tesco for all your needs.
