We loved our stay at Flint Cottage. Perfectly clean, fresh and bright, with wonderful views and a delightful garden, this cottage doesn't disappoint. Comfortable beds, and sofas, immaculate bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen, plus lots of little thoughtful touches and all the comforts of home which made our holiday more relaxing.
We loved it! Everything about it. Each room is beautifully and thoughtfully laid out. The garden is an absolute delight and even though it’s close to the road, you wouldn’t really know it. I had no problem reversing our small car out of the parking area but if you think it might be tricky you could simply park in the road at the side of the row of properties. Note: The internet speed was rip-roaringly fast and it was genius to put the password on the front cover of the cottage information guide, although one of the digits is actually wrong. If I remember correctly the ‘a’ should be an ‘A’. The...more
Quiet location. Lots of character. Lovely garden. Farm walks on doorstep. The downside was although there was a thermostat the heating didn't come on till about 7.30am which was after we were already up and had eaten breakfast. They may have changed it on request but as we weere only there for a long weekend we didn't ask.
Great base , easy to get to other locations . Good bus service nice village pub, local shop across road
This property is so close to the Quay (5 minute walk) it is a wonderful central location from which to explore Wells itself on foot. But also an excellent base to explore the North Norfolk coast and towns. The property had everything we needed for our short stay, including teabags, coffee and milk plus we were left wine and chocolates, a very thoughtful touch. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the dining table on the 1st floor looking across to the gorgeous view towards the beach road. The property was easy to find, but some specific instructions on where you are allowed to park would ...more
After 2 years of postponement due to Covid we managed a get together for family from Europe and UK with ages from 8 to 80. Rookery Farm was a beautiful place for this and we really had an excellent time. We all loved it and have numerous wonderful memories. Logistics make a return unlikely, but were it possible we would certainly be back. Thank you.
A few details that could have been better eg Several lamps not working, fridge door chafing on plinth, instructions for waste collection not clear, waste bin in kitchen lid not operating.
We booked last min and if I’m honest I wasn’t excited. but as soon as we walked through the door we were blown away. Decorated really well with high quality furniture and nice touches all round. Great location to see the best of the Norfolk coast. We left really pleased with our stay and it’s not often I’d say it but would definitely come back. Highly recommend
The cottage was perfectly placed to explore our location. We walked to Wells during lovely weather and tackled Moreston on a lovely sunny day. The cottage was the ideal place to return to to cook our dinner and relax fir the evening.
Stayed at Dickers House for a long weekend away with friends. Very comfortable and clean house in a lovely location. Plenty of space and the big garden area is a bonus. The welcome pack was a nice gesture and very appreciated. The village pub serves great food. This is really only a minor thing but there was no bread knife, trying to cut our loaf with the one sharp knife in the drawer was a challenge! Otherwise, kitchen was well equipped.
Excellent service when boiler shut down on heating. Shame about bathroom, no grab handles for bath and no shower facilities even over the bath. Very comfortable and convenient for Sheringham with enclosed garden for dogs.
This is our second visit and we plan to return again. The cottage is well equipped and just right for two adults and a dog. It’s not a big cottage but each room feels spacious. It’s a great base for walking in the area and in walking distance of Sheringham Park and the beach. Loads to do in the area - especially if you like old houses, parkland and churches, and lots of super places to eat out.
Lovely cottages and well placed for numerous visits to suit most tastes. Road to the front not noisy so shouldn't put people off. Generally well equipped with empty storage cupboards for our provisions which was great. Milk in the fridge and some tea and coffee to get you started was nice. Also a pack of biscuits, however, when reading the visitors book we were envious at the welcome packs of old!! Only down side was the lack of a large fridge or an freezer. The advert is over generous as the integrated fridge (so space is lost) has a small ice-box. For self catering (we were 50/50...more
good location for seeing the whole of North Norfolk - Cromer 10 mins away - if out all day can visit Hunstanton to the East and see the seals near Yarmouth to the West. plenty of good pubs for lunch, but it was clear the cost of drink and food has risen. 2 local pubs that could be walked to for evening meals. good value for money. property had not been used during Covid, was clean and tidy and fully equipped for our stay. operating instructions for the oven need to be provided, managed to sort out in the end, not a major issue. parking was good with vehicles secure. outside security lights ...more
Cosy cottage in a good location for visiting North Norfolk. Well equipped kitchen, although would have been good to have known in advance that we required pods for the coffee maker. Good bathroom facilities (en suite shower was slow to drain). The towels are on the small size. Overall a good cottage to stay in.
We had no heating until day before departure owner supplied us with portable heater.door mat by back door would help floor.
The cottage is lovely and in a quiet village with a nice pub. Location is great as Holkham and Brancaster beaches are 20 minutes away by car. We had a lovely time visiting these and other nice estates such as Sandrigham and good meal at the PUB one of the evenings. It was great that the cottage was pet friendly so we brought our family dog along with our children. The property had everything we needed, including some essentials (soaps/detergents etc...), but could have been a bit more clean and the kitchen is a bit outdated. There were some flies downstairs so that was not very nice and was n...more
A beautiful setting for this cottage, Chaff House is situated in a lovely cluster of buildings where we felt near other renters but were never worried about being too close. The ground floor was a brilliant area for our family of 5; there is ample seating and dining space, and we were delighted to use the jigsaws and games that were available. The kitchen is really well stocked and we really appreciated the welcome provisions. The upstairs though was a little underwhelming in comparison; the space is only just large enough, is less well decorated / presented than the ground floor, and the bath...more
