Our big family of 19 spent Christmas 2025 at Rookery. From the warm welcome from the owners, with wine and seasonal treats, to the stunning accommodation and superb location, we knew as soon as we arrived that we had found the perfect place. The big kitchen is fully equipped for a big party, and the huge dining table was perfect for our celebration dinners. Everyone in our party loved it there. I can't speak highly enough of it. It's exceptional.
Kingfisher Cottage was a delight. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful and we arrived to a warm, comfortable cottage with a homemade coffee and walnut cake, mince pies as well 2 christmas cakes, a christmas pudding and bottles of mulled wine. The cottage is a perfect place for family and friends to come together and celebrate an event or just to get away as a group. A beautiful location for walks or just relaxing in the large garden. Cart Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is located beside a reservoir with lots of bird life and lovely countryside views. An extra bonus is that there is a large dining table which seats 10 so was perfect for our family weekend. Other members of our party stayed in the adjoining b and b and there are other cottages on site making it perfect for a group gathering. Dog friendly too and plenty of parking right outside the property. We saw a hare on the driveway as we arrived which was an extra bonus.
We had a great stay here while working in the area. The accommodation made a comfy base for us to come back to at the end of the day. It was clean, well-equipped and ideally located for our needs and also local facilities.
A lovely cosy cottage in set in beautiful surrounding countryside. The cottage was very well equipped with modern facilities.
