Absolutely wonderful villa. Do not want to leave!!! Francesca is fantastic and here to help in any way she can. Will not be our last trip for sure.
We had a restful week in Arcata, a lovely one bedroom apartment within a beautifully restored farmhouse. We were lucky to have the pool to ourselves as there were no other guests. The owner Ann-Marie was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable of the area and we enjoyed her company. You'd need a car to fully explore the area and enjoy the many delightful hilltop villages within a short drive. We visited Florence, Arrezzo, Cortona and Montepulciani which are all within an hour's drive (or a train journey in the case of Florence). Would recommend booking local restaurants for evening meal during hi...more
We had a fantastic stay at Villa Fobbia and would thoroughly recommend. The house in the mountains makes the most of the enviable views and was very comfortable for our group of 10 (adults and teens), with lots of different areas to relax and unwind. The owners are generously sharing their home and this comes across in all the thoughtful touches across the whole property. We look forward to returning.
I have traveled to many places in the world, this place and the staff are the best I have experienced so 5 big stars from here. Can definitely be recommended
The apartment was wonderful! It's in a wonderful location. An easy walk to everything, yet enough on the outskirts to be quiet at night. It's on the second floor and there is a mini elevator for when you have luggage. And Invitation to Tuscany was so helpful and always immediately available if I had a question.
This is a big villa for six people - ideal for a family or group of friends. Each stylishly decorated bedroom is spacious and has its own luxurious bathroom. We had three generations of the family staying, and there was always space for everyone to do their own thing, with a large sitting room/lounge/dining room, a big country well equipped country kitchen, and a convenient loggia/verandah for outdoor meals overlooking the spectacular scenery down the Val di Chiana and across to the medieval hilltop town of Citta della Pieve. We loved the original farmhouse tiles, the beamed ceilings, comfo...more
This Villa is stunning and great for a large group or family , Daria the hostess is delightful and the quality is very high right throughout. Fabulous pool area and if we return to tuscanny we would immediatel return to Piaggia without thinking twice
Wonderful location and beautiful Villa. 5 couples stayed comfortably with plenty of space. Place was very clean, updated, and well maintained. Very private. Communication with Marco and invitation to Tuscany was excellent. Would highly recommend!
everything has been absolutely fantastic. nothing could be better xxxxxcxxxxxxxxxxccccxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Anne Marie was an excellent host who was there when we needed her, provided extensive local knowledge on places to visit and restaurants and could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The property was very well located for visiting Florence, Siena, Arezzo and many other small and beautiful local towns and villages. The facilities were excellent, well thought through and with a lovely pool to cool off in. Would very much recommend this to others and am sure we may be back in the future.
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Goga. The villa is incredible - a step back in time and the perfect Tuscan experience. The Villa is exquisite and the location perfect. We explored Tuscany but also enjoyed quite a few days by the pool enjoying the landscape! We had four different families and various children join us at times and everyone was equally in love with the Villa. Jacapo, our host, was incredible. A lovely man who made the stay that much more special. We’ll definitely be back.
Wow! A perfect vacation. The staff are welcoming, kind, and helpful - every one. We celebrated our anniversary, bringing ous sons and there families (6 adults and 4 kids). Every one of us were so impressed with the lodging, comfort, atmosphere, privacy, and especially the pool. Breakfast each morning was incredible. We paid for a chef to prepare a few dinners - again, and fantastic experience. Special kudos to Francesco (manager), Anna (chef), and Lola (always helpful and smiling). Ee felt a part of the Montestigliano family. Most definitely plan to return!
Wonderful location, stylish accommodation, and excellent staff who were friendly and efficient. The perfect combination for a wonderful Tuscan holiday.
We were relocated from another property that did not function so had no previous experience or knowledge of San Michele. We were all very impressed with the property and it suited our needs perfectly: Lots of space inside and outside, animals the kids could watch, a wonderful pool and a very nice owner ready to guide and help us.
Another lovely stay at Casa Allioni, such peace and tranquility in a beautiful rural setting with stunning views but within walking distance of good restaurants and within easy drive of the attractions of Florence, Siena and Arezzo. Beverly is a great host, so helpful and knowledgeable of the area, always willing to assist with restaurants bookings etc. A great place to relax and enjoy all Tuscany has to offer.
We stayed for one week during August and we had a wonderful time. We were so lucky to have the whole property to ourselves and made the most of days relaxing by the pool alternating with trips out to some of the beautiful nearby towns including Arezzo which is stunning. Ann Marie is really helpful and made lots of excellent recommendations and restaurant bookings which we really enjoyed. The property was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking when we decided to eat in. We found the property perfect for a relaxing stay with lots to explore nearby.
This is our second year at Dan’s house. Lovely position in the village and the view from the terrace is stunning. Great house with two good size bedrooms. Kitchen is well equipped. House is very comfortable and provides a great base for touring the area too. Loved it.
A very lovely house and garden- my personal favourite so far after many years visiting Umbria and Tuscany. Travel books etc now out of date but most people will bring their own maps, guidebooks etc. Also it would be useful to update the informationm on local trattorias/gelaterias, etc- with accurate closing days/times - e.g., the nice piazzeria/gelateria/trattoria in Civitella was closed several days in the week but we had to work this out by trial and error. Some personal recommendations on 'basic' and more 'sophisicated' places to eat would be helpful!
Those willing to navigate a couple of kilometres on a rocky rural track will be amply rewarded when they get to Casa del Pastore, a well-equipped but relaxed house with absolutely stunning views of Mt Amiata and the Val d'Orcia. They'll get a warm and friendly welcome from Mike and Baal who look after the house, and can enjoy a stay at the heart of one of the most beautiful and remote regions of southern Tuscany in complete comfort. The house is well looked-after, with a great pool, decent satellite broadband and loads of space - and a view that catches your breath every time you step out the...more
Castelonchio is a lovely villa for a family or small group of friends. It is conveniently situated near Lake Trasimeno, only half an hour from Perugia. The little local town of Tuoro is walkable and the grocery store/supermarket is conveniently close by. There are stunning hill top towns nearby and many other wonderful tourist sites in the vicinity. The villa itself is a beautiful two storied stone building, an old farmhouse that has been re-built sympathetically, with very good layout and lots of space. The house has lovely furnishings and a kitchen equipped with all you could need. Als...more
The villa and location were everything we wanted them to be. Radicondoli is a beautiful place, full of character and charm and the villa is ideally placed to enjoy the local sights, shops and restaurants. Claudio was so helpful and we loved his generous gifts of wine, olive oil and tomatoes. We would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.
The vacation for our family fit the bill. I was looking to live like a local and away from big cities. The views are spectacular and the town was very quaint with a lot of places to dine. And there are many small towns not too far away in Tuscany to visit. Our hosts/owners were very gracious, interesting and kind. The only thing that saddened me was that we didn’t have the opportunity to say thank you and goodbye. So, if by some chance they are able to see this: GRAZIE MILLE from Susana e famiglia!
We want to express our appreciation to the fantastic staff at Lornano, Malvasia. They were very anxious to meet any of our requests and answered questions providing us with locations of restaurants and groceries. The location is quite central to many of the hill towns in Tuscany and close proximity to the highway. We certainly enjoyed tasting the wines!
With 14 people staying at this property ( taking all 8 double rooms) we have had a fabulous time with plenty of room for all. Extremely relaxing and convenient location ( our second time renting this property). We had a dinner party for 16 people which worked so well in the huge dining room. We have enjoyed wonderful breakfasts prepared by extremely hard working , cheerful ladies who also cleaned the rooms on a daily basis. We certainly have no complaints about anything . Wonderful holiday - molto grazie!
A lovely spot on a tuscan hillside with beautiful views across the valley, surrounded by olive groves. Perfect retreat for writing your novel, or unwinding in tranquility. A car is essential, as local sleepy village Pian di Sco is a good walk, and that is where you will find the nearest local shops and restaurants. Better shops and more restaurants were 20 minutes away at Figline Valdarno, from where you can also take the train to Florence or Arezzo, saving angst about parking in unfamiliar cities. Major tourist centres were generally an hour's drive away, so this location is probably not ...more
We arrived at the villa hours after our expected arrival time and still had a very pleasant reception from Niccola who showed us round the property. The weather was mixed but on the sunnier days lounging round the pool was perfect. The property is well placed for exploring places such as Florence, Sienna and Arezzo as well as vineyards and the surrounding countryside. We went by train to Florence which was easy.
We had the perfect family vacation at this beautiful and spacious Italian home. The house is aesthetically pleasing and surrounded by stunning nature, offering a private and serene location. The pool area is fantastic for both play and relaxation, and we loved the outdoor pizza oven and terrace. The rooms are beautiful and decorated with taste. The bedrooms are large and equipped with comfortable beds: Our host was incredibly sweet and helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful week here, including a special evening where a chef prepared a Tuscan dinner for us. Also there’s a charming town nearby to exp...more
Casena moresca is truly a little piece of heaven on earth. The view is breath taking and the cottage is charming and comfortable. The beds are comfortable and all the basic necessities were taken care of. Gina and Tony even left a few other extra goodies for us. They are a lovely couple and made us feel at home. The road is a bit terrifying at first but we got used to it quickly and it added to the adventure!
My wife and I stayed here 17 years ago and loved it. We have now returned with our son and daughter in law and it is just as wonderful as it was then. The pool and its vineyard location are stunning and the welcome from Katia and the family made us feel at home and relaxed. Casole d'Elsa is a beautiful Tuscan village. There are a few more bars, restaurants and shops than there were 17 years ago which have added to its attractiveness without spoiling its character. I can't understand why it has taken us 17 years to come back to this beautiful place. The Rustico apartment comprises two large bed...more
We stayed in this large apartment for a week from 14 September and had a very lovely time there. The area is very quiet, the scenery around is flatter than the Tuscan hills to the west and south but nonetheless beautiful, and the town of Ambra is a 20 minute walk away, with a fabulous restaurant. The owners live below you and keep themselves to themselves as they speak limited English. This makes it a very relaxing and private break. The beds are comfy, and the space inside is plentiful. The utensils and items for guest use are a little dated but they function very well and give you a real fee...more
We had a great family holiday, with a wide range of ages in our group, from two babies to grandparents, plenty of space for everyone. The villa has 5 good sized en suite bedrooms and the large pool was enjoyed by the children and adults. We also appreciated being able to walk to local restaurants.
This was our second trip to stay near beautiful Casole d'Elsa - and this time at Pinolo just outside of the village. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The property was just beautiful and just what we wanted. Very peaceful and quiet - with wonderful views and a great pool to enjoy. We spent time relaxing at the property, walking the gentle walk into the village for coffee or meals - and also driving to nearby villages for further exploration. Pinolo met all of our needs and more - it exceeded our expectations. We even had the lovely caretakers leave us a freshly made tart one day to a...more
Had a great week in this very grand villa set on hillside. Good location and views. House full of antiques with great ambiance. Pool is private to the rear, well used, although very cold as not heated. Caretaker and housekeeper live on top floor but keep themselves private and don’t speak English. Had a good meal organised by Invitation to Tuscany served in top floor dining room by Housekeeper, like having your own restaurant on the top floor. Also Great restaurant's 5 mins by car and close by is local coop. Monteriggioni is very close too for wine tasting. Only thing missing was mugs for hot ...more
A quiet and remote location, this was a lovely villa to explore the surrounding countryside from. Room sizes were good, kitchen and bathroom are compact but fine. We had a very warm welcome from Rita who was very helpful . We have stayed in other villas where the local taxes and cleaning are included in the price whereas we had to leave 70 euros for this. I think it helps to have everything in the price. It didn't take away from our enjoying our stay.
A really nice stay in a wonderful house located in the forest. The house was authentic and comfortable. There were sun beds around the pool which we used several time a day. Be aware that aircon only is installed in the bedrooms.
Villa d’Orcia is an elegant older house overlooking Val d’Orcia. It offers good bedding, a well equipped kitchen, functional bathrooms, a variety of herbs, Gelasio who oversees the house during the owner’s absence, two dogs and two cats who will make you feel right at home! Oh, and a stunning, private swimming pool. It would be good to develop more shaded areas with good garden furniture. The dirt and gravel road needs work. All in all, very delightful!
A lovely house, ideal for a quiet and restful holiday, with stunning views of the village of Ameglia where there is a lovely restaurant, within walking distance, though not an easy walk. The owners Mario and Wendy are lovely people and made us feel very welcome.
This house is so beautiful and serene, surrounded by trees and the sound of cicadas and with a lovely view of rolling Umbrian hills. With thick stone walls it remains fairly cool irrespective of the surrounding temperature, and there is a good air flow through the house once doors and windows are open. The large pool is fabulous and warms nicely in the sun, but has the benefit of being increasingly shaded as the afternoon wears on. It is easy to spend the day lolling around the house without the need to go anywhere. But there are things to do: the area is very rural and sparsely populated, but...more
Having visited Tuscany for many years now Vallevista is by far the best located for my preference. Not overlooked at all and with stunning views. Tredozio is the local village which has everything you need, with very friendly people - look out for the Feste in August too!
We stayed a week at Casa Carina in early October, and had a wonderful time. The villa itself is spacious and charming (save the disconcerting ceramic mask on the wall), and its best feature is the covered veranda with a beautiful view across the valley to the nearby villages of Colelungo and Morre. I thoroughly recommend relaxing there as the sun sets, sipping wine and listening to the local wildlife (we heard cicadas, crickets, owls, other birds of prey, and wild boar) and watching the bats chase down the insects. Mario is a lovely host and could not do enough for us. HIs wife made us som...more
We were 11 adults from 30 to 68 years of age and 2 boys aged 2 years. we had a fantastic stay and experience. Villa Pepi is a paradise, beautiful view from all rooms and outside to the soft green hils of Toscana. Despite only 1,5 km from the village Rignano Sull'arno, we felt very private and in the countryside. The house is big but very functional. A very good swimming pool were we stayed much of the time if not in the green shadows at the table by the entrance. Only 1 km to the bakery were we bought bread and croissant every morning, similar to the tennis court which we also used. Very prac...more
Great amount of different activities and many relaxing areas and options to seperate from the group.
Excellent location. Great pool. Kitchen equipment rather dated apart from washing machine which appeared fairly new. Some quirky furnishing which added to charm. Air-con inadequate to 40 degree heat but provided some relief A comfortable villa with stunning views.
A lovely tranquil home with plenty of space inside and out, perfect for our family of 10. A fantastic swimming pool and tennis court for both adults and children to enjoy. The views are breathtaking and the location was perfect for us. Thanks!
Noce’s view from the dappled terrace is good for the soul: past the vineyard - harvested while we stayed- across the pool, and then to the wide beauties of Tuscany. Don’t expect sophistication here; it is simple easy rural living, with cheerful unobtrusive hosts, and wonderful quiet. However we were charmed by Casole d’Elsa, the nearby village, a maze of twisty streets full of art, and with a couple of seriously good restaurants. Live jazz on my birthday at Casolani restaurant, with Montepulciano in hand, was a treat! Lots of other delights are within easy reach: Volterra and Siena for stunnin...more
We had a wonderful holiday in Suderia. Daniel from the UK was extremely helpful with information about the property and arranging car hire for us. Emy, the owner, was very welcoming and also considerate in lots of ways that helped to make our stay very relaxing. The property and surrounding scenery was stunningly beautiful. We have many fantastic memories from our stay. Thank you all very much for your hard work.
We stayed a week at Rapoli Sopra. We loved its location, peace and quiet. We enjoyed recommendations for dinner venues and attended their own Pizza night which was a fabulous evening out. We were treated like we were the first guests of the season and nothing was too much trouble. It’s a truly authentic experience to stay in a Villa in the midst of a hamlet on a hill in the middle of olive groves.
Lovely villa in the Tuscan Hills. Service and communication was friendly and helpful. Great for families.
My favourite aspect of Villa Eremo was the garden, especially the neat lush green lawns and the feel of the air in the early morning and in the evening when the sun set over the hills. On our arrival, the lavender was in full bloom; jasmine and roses flourished against the house wall, while vivid red pelargoniums cheered up pots and window boxes. All these flowers attracted a display of colourful and unfamiliar butterflies and bees. The whole garden, including olive and fruit trees and the vine shading the breakfast table, was being diligently watered, maintained and tended to by Corado. Outsi...more
A welcome pack would be nice it doesn’t have to be much but some biscuits or a cake would be nice. Could do with some homely touches, such as flowers/plants, rugs on the floors colourful pictures on the walls or some nice Tuscan tiles just to brighten the place up a bit. There was a CD player but no CD’s this could perhaps be updated with a speaker to allow you to Bluetooth your phone to for some background music. A place for couples but not very romantic a bit disappointing
Staying in Paulo felt like a real adventure. The drive from the airport was far enough to make you feel you were really going into the depths of Umbria but not so far that you got over-tired or frustrated. Arriving in Paciano itself and then being lead to the farmhouse (in car convoy) by our lovely host we really felt that we were in a rural idyll ... and turns out were were!. The accommodation had fantastic views and the shared pool, reached by a sloping path, was a wonderful place to relax and cool down after a visit to one of the local towns or the lake. We were there at the end of Au...more
Our family stayed for a week in June. We particularly liked the large well equipped kitchen and its proximity to the dining table outside. Good range of seating options. Great garden and walks out of the house into woods and vineyards. Ask about extra charges when you book as it’s quite complicated. We asked for a selection of wines from the estate and that worked really well. We like simple rustic Tuscan rural homes with plenty of space around and Dimora certainly met the brief.
