As the title suggests, this is our 7th visit to Fern Lodge at Oakwood West Holidays. We come here twice a year for a girls trip and always have a fantastic time. We are well looked after and Sarah and her team are so welcoming! The facilities are perfect for us and we always leave feeling well rested and counting down the days to our next visit. It’s a lovely part of the country with lots to do; walking, eating, sightseeing etc!
Meadow Hide was immaculately clean and well presented and was equipped with everything we needed for a fabulous week in West Sussex. If you want peace and quiet then this is it. There guage itself, although in a small group of suchlike, was very private and screened from everybody else. The Hide looks out over the fields to hedgerows beyond and we saw a plethora or wildlife. Buzzards, Red Kites, Red Wings, Green Woodpecker, all of the "normal" garden jobs - even a peacock! It chose to roost noisily in the tree above the jacuzzi and watch us. Silhouette’s Stable was absolutely brilliant. The interior appeared to be new or recently renovated, featured lovely equestrian touches, and was spotless. It was spacious and well-equipped with ample cozy seating, a smart TV, and a wonderful wood burner. Property Highlights The Garden: This was a highlight even in February. It features a patio and landscape turf, which ensured it was not muddy and remained clean even in the rain. We had a great time. The property was perfect for the 10 of us, with three dogs. Lovely walks up on the Downs. Loved the outdoor cooking options. Sarah was very amenable to chatting about potential walks, and helping us top up with more wood for the fires. Just a couple of suggestions though. The dining table was tight for ten people. I had imagined that there might be more connection between Lucky's and Silhouette's, as we ended up just using Lucky's apart from sleeping arrangements. We had a great week here. Nice light and attractive property and we enjoyed the outdoor area very much. The owners very nice. Great location as near the Weald and Down Museum as well as Fishborne Roman Palace and Chichester. Well decorated and in perfect condition. Had most things we needed though more comfortable sofas and a larger tv would be nice. Would not recommend for a three generation group as the house can be quite noisy as it is all open plan. Would stay again as we loved it.
