You can’t miss St John’s Point Lighthouse in gorgeous County Down. Its strikingly tall tower is marked with vibrant bands of yellow and black. (The colours which distinguish it from other lighthouses are known as its daymark).

  • Sleeps 4 people. 1 Double Bedroom, 1 Twin Room.
  • Pets are not permitted.

Thank you for your review and copious kisses (I hope). I read your private comment that we should consider Wi-Fi. There is a signal at this property, but Wi-Fi would be very poor due to the remote location and thickness of the walls. We suggest you play the board games at night and enjoy each others company without mobile distractions. For our younger guests, do download devices before you arrive, although with all that fresh sea air, they will fall asleep in no time.

JP Ketch & St John’s Point Lighthouse are magical. The coast line is spectacular, the scenery beautiful, the cottage cosy & comfortable and the peace & calm restorative. Rambling around the rocks, multiple cups of tea & after dark, glasses of wine on the terrace under the beams of light. We loved every minute & look forward to a return visit.

We [myself, my husband and my brother and sister-in-law from England] often stay in self-catering accommodation, but this was certainly the best we have been in. The meeting with the house manager was welcoming and informative, and we really enjoyed the experience of the sea [including during Storm Ashley!] from a very comfortable place.
The accommodation was excellent for us, but it should be stressed that the challenging staircase, while excitingly authentic for the able-bodied, make this less suitable for the disabled, or very young children.

Lorraine - Operations Manager replied 13 days ago
Thank you for your great review. The staircase shows the real age of the building and is original, less-abled persons or children would not have been in the cottage back in the day, just the lighthouse keeper. I'm pleased you loved the experience!

We absolutely loved staying at this property & our only regret was not being able to stay longer. We were met at the property by one of the hosts, who was also kind enough to bring us fresh honey from her husband’s farm. She showed us around the place & explained how to work everything including the water & heat. The decor & colors of the house were calming & beautiful. We liked everything about staying here & will definitely try to do so again if ever back in Ireland. Highly recommend!

Thank you for your great review. The decor is mentioned many times, the nautical colour palette suits this amazing coastal property, I hope you can return again soon.

We absolutely loved our all too brief stay in St. John's lighthouse recently. Everything was so charming. Upstairs is tricky if you are tall. Overall, it was fantastic. We will be back.

Thank you for your review. This is an extremely old property and we cannot change any of the quirky heights on the first floor, many of our other heritage properties also have low ceilings in parts, I'm pleased to read this did not impact your stay and that you will happily return!

This was our second stay at the lighthouse and it was just as good if not better than the first time. The house was spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and we loved all the extra touches. Special thank you to Aodhan for his expert knowledge and information about the lighthouse and its history.

Thank you for your great review. Aodhan from Irish Lights is great to have working at this property, this guy loves lighthouses and would happily chat to guests about everything lighthouse related.

An enjoyable weekend. Comfortable accommodation and very spacious (allowing for a few low ceilings) with character. A good location from which to explore the local area.

Thank you for your review. We did communicate about your value for money score, this property would not usually receive such a low score. We did interpret this as an issue with the property when in fact this was not the case. I hope we can welcome you back soon to another of our lovely quirky properties.

I loved the style of the house, how it is decorated. There is no lack of detail. You have the feeling of being at home. the kitchen very well equipped. The sheets and towels smelled clean. Susan and Paula are lovely and gave us all kinds of facilities.
We were very happy to be there.

We wanted somewhere comfortable, isolated, well off the beaten track where we could relax and cycle safely around the quiet country roads. The lighthouse was the perfect attraction and staying in the light keepers cottage at St John’s Point gave us tranquility without the intrusion of TV or Internet.
At night watching the six powerful light beams shining out over the Irish sea gave us that reassuring feeling that only a lighthouse can give.

We had chosen St John’s Ketch to celebrate my partner’s big birthday and family and friends were delighted to come to this unique venue.

Our party of four had an exceptional time at JP Ketch cottage at St John’s Lighthouse! The property was prepared for us in a beautiful state and the accommodation was very comfortable. The location of course is without equal! The coast views and access was exquisite and the ponies were icing on the cake!

Four of us spent a very enjoyable long weekend at ST John's Point.
The house was cosy. clean and very well equipped and Suzanne couldn't have been more welcoming.
In what was probably the only dry weekend of the past few weeks, we had dry cold bright weather that added to the ambience of the weekend so much so that after a late dinner and wine on our first night we went for a bright moonlit biting cold walk post midnight and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The setting and the house were so quaint and are so invaluable to remind us something of life past.
In the course of our stay, we visited the Cathedral at Downpatrick and the Gaol Museum.
We look forward to our next Landmark visit

We had a fantastic getaway over the Easter weekend in JP Ketch. The cottage is really comfortable and warm, so it is the perfect getaway location for a relaxing weekend. Once we adjusted to life with no internet or TV, life became much more relaxing for the few days that we were staying at JP Ketch.

Having stayed in a number of GB Landmark trusts it is inevitable that we will compare them with the admittedly single Irish landmark trust we have stayed in. In short GB Landmarks are notably superior. It was disappointing to find so much kitsch in JP Ketch along with prints that weren’t in keeping with the tenor of the property.Likewise the library unlike GB Landmarks lacked a decent History file and looked more like a charity shop. English Landmark trusts are better equipped with their trademark Victorian style homeware and furnishings. We weren’t sure if we were staying in a modern holiday home or somewhere more “authentic” and in harmony with the building. Setting was wonderful and immaculately clean but the damp and untidy surrounds were disappointing. I think the NI Landmark trusts would benefit by coming under the control of the Mainland Landmarks as regards interiors and ethos. In summary JP Ketch was let down by the number of seaside themed knick- Knacks whilst undoubtedly well intentioned made for a confusing theme - modern holiday home or sensitively restored unique and historic property?

Lorraine - Operations Manager replied 258 days ago
Thank you for your review and great score, as mentioned, Landmark Trust UK is a separate entity to Irish Landmark Trust. We love Landmark Trust UK, they are a great model for beautiful restorations but we just don't get the funding or bequests they do, to be compared with. Our vision is the same, to save iconic buildings and share them with the public. Your stay at St Johns does however bring us, as a charity, much needed funds to help maintain this property. We do have other properties furnished with more superior furniture but this property is kept true to its last inhabitants and lighthouse keepers did not have ornate interiors or lead a lavish life, they lead a very hard and sparce life. This property was fitted out with a nautical colour palette with vintage nautical memorabilia and lighthouse information books to read but has the modern comforts you would expect of a self-catering cottage. There is also a reproduction Carnegie bookcase in each cottage that has great historical importance on the island of Ireland. There is a more broad range of books for our younger guests who are probably having too much fun outside to read them. Unfortunately we are custodians of the two cottages only which are in fabulous condition internally, the rest of the compound is not ours to maintain.

We stayed in the JP Ketch cottage at St Johns Point Lighthouse in Feb. 2024 to celebrate a birthday and to tick another lighthouse off the list. We have a wonderful time and were blown away by the location and setting. The cottage was very comfortable and we enjoyed the chance to switch off from the world for a few days. Suzan, the host was very accommodating and provided us with loads of tips on things to do in the area. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed bright sunny days and cloudless star filled night skies. We will definitely hope to return again!

Outside areas could do with a tidy up, understand probably not part of the lease.
Site is isolated ( a positive ) but maybe a strong movement activated light at the gate , where parked .
Cottage is very comfortable and clean , Susan is a great asset , looking after the property.

Lorraine - Operations Manager replied 353 days ago
Thank you for your review. The outside area is not part of our lease, we are however hoping to get the two cottages refreshed externally early next year when the weather is suitable. We have approached the landlord to improve the rest of the site. As St Johns Point is a very popular tourism spot, an external light at the gate would disturb staying guests. In the winter months I would recommend using the torch for exit and entry through the old lighthouse gates.

Booked both cottages for a family get together. We had a fabulous time. The cottages had everything we could possibly need and more!
Highly recommend as an excellent base for a family get together.
Highlights of our stay included sitting on the soft chairs in the kitchen drinking coffee and watching the mighty waves during a storm, a swim at Rossglass, lunch at Wackozs outside Downpatrick, a stroll along Minerstown Beach while the children made a sand village and the icing on the cake .. watching the beam from the lighthouse light up the darkness at night!
Definitely a five star stay. Thank you ILT, Suzan and Paula for making a stay at this fabulous place possible.

This was my first time staying in an Irish Landmark Trust property so I wasn't sure what to expect. . The property was in a stunning location and, despite its age, was well maintained, with some sympathetic modernisation internally. The comfort, cleanliness and facilities exceeded my expectations, and the local staff were very helpful. I would definitely book another ILT property.

Spent three nights at St. John’s Point. The house was spotless and very well equipped. Loved the remoteness and quietness of the location. Even the kids embraced the holiday by leaving the tablets in their bags for the whole stay. The ponies were an added bonus, the kids loved them.
Can’t wait to try the next lighthouse location to see if it meets St. John’s standard.
Will definitely return to explore more of Co. Down.

Staying at the lighthouse is magical. The house is clean and well in order. Unfortunately the surroundings could use a fix as they are falling apart and are largely unattended, but the interior is very well preserved.

Thank you for your review. These properties see continuous wear and tear, 2023 saw a large amount of work on the internal condition of the properties. We are working towards 2024 budgets for external work for the properties. As a charity of 32 historic properties we have a very limited budget, every stay at St Johns contributes to its next planned repairs. As these buildings are quite old, and beside the sea, the appearance of the cottages will never stay perfect for long under the harsh weather conditions. This has to be taken into consideration and is part of the character of all our lighthouse cottages.

A most wonderful stay!

We couldn't have possibly been happier with our stay! The location of the cottages is absolutely beautiful and upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome from members of the Trust. The cottage itself is a charming old building that provides all modern comforts we could have wanted. We were able to explore surrounding areas from the lighthouse, but during a rainy day, you can also get nice and cosy on the comfortable couches and enjoy the view. And to anyone reading, we highly recommend stepping outside at night to watch the spectacular dance of bright light beams from the lighthouse!

Awesome! That's the word for it. This is our first experience staying at a lighthouse and I would recommend it to everyone.
The place is clean and well-equipped. The booking process was easy and being able to communicate with Susan prior to our arrival made things even easier.
Ketch has the view of the sea from the kitchen. Use the binoculars placed at the window to see farther.

The kitchen has enough to cook real meals. The bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable but mattresses on the single beds needs to be replaced. The lighting on the landing area on the upper floor needs to be repaired though.
The skylights on the upper floor are a nice touch.
Be careful on the staircase as it's steep.
The view of the light beams at night is just awesome!
Although we had planned it, the weather did not allow us to sit outside for long.

There are 2 ponies on the property. They like carrots. But try to separate them when you feed them as the bigger one is a bully.

Overall, I give it a 4.5/5.

Lorraine - Operations Manager replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your lovely review. We plan to review the beds in 2024 as this year we concentrated on the internal wall repairs and repainting to conserve the lovely interiors. The stairs are very old and we have kept this true to the building. The landing light will be repaired, thank you for highlighting this.

The cottage under St John’s Point Lighthouse is one of our favourite places on earth! And this trip, our 5th here, didn’t disappoint again. The cottage is beautifully laid out - simple but comfortable with everything you could need.
My one small complaint is the same as the issue we had last time, the beds are very creaky and noisy - any small movement on the bed makes very loud creaky noises often enough to keep us awake. This has been the same as every time we have stayed there - could the bed frames be updated?
Otherwise a flawless holiday stay

Thank you for your review and reading how many times you have returned. We will look into the beds for 2024, this year we concentrated on the internal wall repairs and repainting to conserve the lovely interiors.

House manager Suzan was away and we were to meet Paula - Suzan's backup - Paula was delayed, but we got a lovely warm welcome from Paula's husband, Conall.

My brother John and I stayed in Ketch for 3 nights. The house is tastefully decorated throughout and so well kept and presented. Its relaxing and cosy and you won't want to leave!

The lighthouse station looks out on the sea and it really is a gorgeous place to get away from it all. We loved sitting outside the back door with a cup of tea.

The station was been painted during our stay so we got a look inside Irelands tallest onshore lighthouse. The engine house was also open so we got to have a peek there to. There is a lovely smell of oil inside the engine house and it brought back memories of my time as a temporary lighthouse keeper.

Thank you Suzan, Paula and Conall for the warm welcome and an excellent stay.

Thank you for your lovely review, its great to read you got to see more of the station than expected, that was very kind of the staff working there!

I have already recommended this place to many of my friends. The weather was great for our stay but I think even in really bad weather this place would be snug and comfortable. I do not often leave reviews but this cottage and the whole location and walled site was truly beautiful.

Such a wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed 2 nights here and got to experience both a stormy night and a calm night where we were able to venture outside and gaze at the beams of light from the lighthouse with the sound of the waves lapping in the background. There's no TV or radio, and phone coverage wasn't great so be prepared for this. We felt it added to the charm of the place and allowed us to relax and really immerse ourselves in our surroundings. Would highly recommend this lighthouse stay and we hope to return in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .Very well stocked kitchen .Only issue we had was the mattresses were all too soft and bad for our backs.
We appreciate that the potholes on the access road are not your responsibility, however as a tourist provider you should put pressure on the local authorities to rectify these as they are more like craters than potholes.

Lorraine - Operations Manager replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your review. Our mattresses at St John's usually receive great reviews and our guests sleep well, I'm sorry they were not to your personal liking. The road to the lighthouse belongs to the local farmer, we are looking at options for the potholes at our own cost but the traffic to this iconic location is constant for all visitors to the lighthouse and not limited to just our guests use. Our local House Manager is making guests aware of this short part of the lighthouse road condition before arrival.

We had 4 adults in the JP Sketch, St Johns Lighthouse, Co. Down for 3 nights over the St Patrick's weekend. Our House Manager, Suzan Smyth, was extremely helpful and provided some excellent recommendations for local attractions, restaurants and pubs - we particularly enjoyed our meal in the Artisan Cookhouse in Strangford. The accommodation is perfectly suitable for 4 adults and JP Ketch is really comfortable and cosy. A lovely place and we will definitely be back.

We stayed at Sloop 2 years ago, and the interior condition of the houses was immaculate. We were somewhat disappointed to find areas of crumbling paint on the walls due to damp. The sink in the kitchen was loose and dripping with black mould on the wooden sink surround. The condition of the upstairs window sill was hidden with a cloth. We missed the animals, Daisy the goat, the Shetland ponies and the hens. They added character.

That aside, it was cosy and comfortable. The views were amazing. It was isolated and peaceful. An ideal break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
.

Lorraine - Operations Manager replied more than 1 year ago
Thank you for your review. Some of these maintenance issues had been resolved just before your review was posted. The animals belonging to the then resident of the compound have now relocated with her, when she left St Johns, I'm sure they will be missed by our regulars

We really enjoyed our stay at JP Ketch, The cottage was clean, comfortable and had a great view. Suzan was very friendly and helpful. The exterior of the property needs some TLC but the interior was old world with all the mod cons required for a perfect stay.

Thank you for your review and supporting the Irish Landmark Trust charity. Your stay at this property supports its survival and the survival of other properties in our care. The exterior and compound of St Johns Point are cared for by Irish Lights, the sea weather is very invasive to the very old whitewashed walls, I can assure this decoration is scheduled.

We loved every minute of our stay.
The cottage was spotless clean, warm and comfortable and full of books so we didn't mind that we got one rainy day. We just stayed in and read, played chess, looked at sea and relaxed, even our kids enjoyed it. They sometimes run outside and played there in the moon-like surrounding, whatever their imagination was.
The organisation was brilliant, Suzan, the House Manager contacted us a week ago to confirm time of arrival and another House Manager, Paula was there when we arrived. Both were very nice.
It was interesting to stay so close to sea and the lighthouse at night was magic and almost time travelling experience for my mind :-).
We stayed 3 days but all of us were very sorry to leave, it was one of the most relaxing weekend we ever had ...

This would have been our second stay at a landmark Trust property. Out of the two properties for rent here the JP Kelch offers better views. The building is very old so this should be taken into account when you realise there's no bathroom upstairs and the staircase is very narrow. That being said the house was spotless, kitchen very well stocked and both the house manager Suzan and resident light keeper were a pleasure to deal with.

Our family spent the most wonderful weekend at the Lighthouse. Excellent and unique facilities and warm, friendly and helpful advice and guidance on local amenities from Suzan Smyth the House Manager. Suzan brought a personal touch and was generous with her time and information.
A beautiful part of the country, enjoyed in glorious sunshine by all of us. The accommodation was spotless and lovingly tended with respect to the history and contribution of this important lighthouse.
Everything we needed for easy self catering was provided, and more.

I highly recommend a visit for a romantic escape or a fun filled family trip. We will be back!

We stayed in JP Ketch over Valentines 2022 so we could share some time and make some special memories. What a wonderful place to stay… loads of character in the cottage and it’s surroundings with the striking black and yellow lighthouse towering above us.
JP Ketch is very cosy and comfortable. It’s situated down a quiet dead end road with the rugged coastline of Ireland outside the window, waves crashing and the wind blowing made it all the more dramatic. We even got lucky and saw the seals just down the road at Minerstown too!!
We absolutely loved it and have to say Suzan looked after us beautifully and nothing was too much trouble… we appreciated her being so wonderful. Top marks from us :) :)

Our little family loved staying “at the lighthouse”. It was immaculate. The host for the property was super friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be this: allow and advertise an earlier check in time, even 3pm and a later check out time, perhaps 12pm. We were very rushed and trying to tidy up and strip the beds as requested. We were contacted to offer a later check out too late into the morning.
I would highly recommend this property for busy working commuters, with or without children, it forces you to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Thank you for your review of JP Ketch, we are so glad your family had a relaxing stay! Thank you for your suggestion, our current times allow the house manager time to adequately prepare for the next guest, it is at the house managers discretion whether they can facilitate an earlier or later check-in.

Ketch dates from 1841 by our calculations. Staying there is like being transported back to that pre-famine era and enjoying the peace and tranquillity of a beautifully preserved period property of that time. Congrats to all involved on an outstanding preservation. So comfortable. We’ll be back. Liam.

Just back from a 3-night stay at JP Ketch. We are a family of four with two kids (5 and 8) and we all thoroughly enjoyed our time at Ketch. Suzan the host was very helpful if we needed any assistance. Ann the caretaker was also very friendly and happy give recommendations and to tell the history of the lighthouse and her connections to it. The house was spotless well kept and cosy. We can’t wait to return

We had the loveliest weekend, the cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean and deceptively large. On the Friday evening the weather was dry and we had a clear sky so sat outside watching the moon dance on the ocean with the strobes and beams of the light house streaming the sky. On the Saturday we visited local towns, had lunch out etc, lovely surrounding area of Newcastle, Castlewellan and Tyrella beach. On Saturday evening the weather was fierce, the sea was rough, it was windy and there was sea spray again it was fabulous to watch from a warm cosy cottage. In bed that night all tucked up you almost felt like the sea was going to take the cottage it was so windy and stormy and we loved it! All was calm again by Sunday morning. No tv was a novelty for my children and we went back to basics with board games, card games and charades and had great fun. We will most definitely return here, highly recommended!

I cannot recommend St John's point lighthouse keepers cottages enough. The cottage itself is so cozy and beautifully kept. So clean and the beds are extremely comfortable and fresh, I have never slept so well! You can take a walk along the coast which is great for photography as is the lighthouse and cottage. A taxi into Newcastle is £25 if you fancy a pint or 10. A great break, no WiFi, no TV which was good for the soul.

Our stay at the lighthouse was a truly wonderful experience. The cottage was so clean, warm and stocked with everything you would need for you stay. The peace and calm was very soothing to our minds, hearts and spirits. I would recommend this retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life to anyone. A little piece of heaven here on earth.

The shabby look of the property belies the cosy and tastful decor of interior which came as a very pleasant surprise. The only negative thing I could comment on was not having the option of blind coverings for the downstair windows. most of the time the public would gather at a small shrine outside the wall facing our window which left us feeling a bit exposed.

We spent the weekend at JP Ketch and absolutely fell in love with the cottage and the location. The cottage has everything you need and is wonderfully cosy. It was a perfect weekend away. We've already booked a return trip although this time we'll bring ear plugs so the chickens and cockerel doesn't wake us up!

We had a lovely escape for a couple of days, lovely fresh eggs for breakfast, views are amazing, and loved the quirkiness of the cottage , felt the stress leave our shoulders upon arrival , what a joy to stay beside a working lighthouse and watch it at various points through the day and night, definitely would love to return !!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage in June. The weather was perfect so long walks were required. The cottage is very comfortable and very well equipped and pretty much everything you need for a stay is there. When darkness falls the lighthouse gives off a lovely light over the grounds. Thank you to Suzan for keeping us informed and keeping the place spotless. Ann was a wonderful host also, providing us with beautiful eggs from her ladies (chickens) and entertainment from Daisy the goat. The area is beautiful and very historical and within a walk (about 30 mins) to Killough.
We'll be back. Thank you.

Could not have chosen a better place to spend a few days away. We were very lucky that the sun shone the whole time. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The delightful Ann who lives on site was a fantastic source of local knowledge and was able to recommend walks, places to eat and the best spots to swim.

We loved our 2 night stay in the cottage. It was a great spot for a quiet getaway with superb views and lovely coastal walks. We got all our information in advance from Suzan and met Ann, the permanent resident, who was kind enough to provide us with fresh eggs for brekky and lots of info on the area, places to eat and visit. Highly recommend for a different kind of holiday

We are a family of four and our kids are 4 and 7, we stayed for a weekend and absolutely loved it! My daughter actually cried because she did not want to leave and asked can we come back every summer! The place was spotless, and to be honest a small museum, I was a bit nervous about the memorabilia around the place, all lighthouse themed and a real treasure cove for anybody interested in Lighthouses.
There is plenty of coastline to explore and nice take away places in Killough, big mention to Fired, serving delicious Asian cuisine from a wee truck.
The lighthouse keeper is very friendly and has many animals on site, this added to my kids experience and they simply loved the place! She lent us nets and buckets to go rock-pooling.
Communication with the hostess Suzan was smooth and prompt, you might have to go outside to get a signal.
If you are coming with kids, remember there is no tv, so make sure you have something to pass the time on a rainy day.
Kitchen was well equipped and house was comfortable enough, we would definitely be coming back!

Back for our third visit in three months, specially as a Xmas treat for three nights, brilliant.
Suzan had left a wonderful greenery display in a vase that set the scene and we settled in for the retreat on offer.
The sunrise on Xmas eve was stunning as was the sunset, but no sign of Jupiter and Saturn in the sky, despite our best attempts to view in the night sky.
A very special place, restorative and reflective.

Just a beautiful place to stay, quiet and comfortable and just seeing the light rotating and listening to the waves against the rocks is pretty magical. First class communication with Suzan the manager of the property (Which was spotless) and Anne who lives on site in one of the other houses. The stay was slightly more expensive compared to a classic B&B but definitely WORTH IT.

In these strange times, Suzan was really helpful with booking and all things related to our stay.

The stay itself was just perfect! Everything from the cozy cottage we stayed in, the amenities and equipment, the surroundings and, of course, the lighthouse.

Big thanks also to Ann (the lighthouse attendant) for answering our questions, telling us about the place, history, and introducing us to her guard-goat, Daisy.

If you want a unique and relaxing stay, this is it.

This is the second Landmark lighthouse cottage that we have stayed in, the other being at Blackhead. We have enjoyed them both although they are slightly different. St John's Point feels more authentic and probably has the better situation - Blackhead was probably more comfortable.

The JP Ketch has been well restored, without removing its character. It easily accommodates 4 adults with both a small dining room and a spacious sitting area. The kitchen is functional and well equipped. There is a toilet and a separate bathroom/toilet downstairs with shower and a bath. The bedrooms are upstairs and are of a good size although the ceilings are low.

One plus for us was that the lighthouse keeper was on site and had a goat, ponies, chicken and cats. We were very grateful for her kindness and generosity.

During our stay, the weather was poor but we still had a lovely time reading etc and watching the ever changing sea. There is also an interesting early-Christian church within easy walking distance.

Great stay had by our family. The cottage was spotless and roomy. We had superb weather when we stayed so we really enjoyed it. The lighthouse draws alot of people no harm in that. Its great at night when it gets lit up. On site there are a few ponies a goat and hens runnong about. It adds a bit of character to the place. Anna who lives on site give our boys some nets to go crab fishing out on the rocks next to us. She is a mind of information about the area and the lighthouse. I would give this place 5 stars. Couldn't find fault. A holiday with a difference.

We love this place - excellent cottages (have stayed in both Sloop and Ketch) in a location that is a sea lover‘s paradise. And there is plenty of wildlife and a few farm animals to keep us all entertained!
The cottages themselves are well furnished - not fussy and exceptionally clean. A few tiny negatives - the single beds are quite creaky, and the plastering only the bathroom needs a small facelift over the bath - but genuinely a wonderful holiday.

We stayed for three nights but would have stayed for weeks. This is a magical setting full of history, natural beauty and charm. The cottage is in excellent condition for its 177 years and the looming presence of the lighthouse adds magic to the stay, by day and by night. The natural beauty of the surrounding landscape and its way-marked walks kept us curious and entertained for the few days. The presence of the very helpful and friendly lighthouse attendant helped to provide an interesting background to the past, present and future of the setting, as a lighthouse and as a place of family life. I couldn't recommend this highly enough - for adults and children.

The accomodation is superb. A tasteful mix of modernity with old world charm and comfort and mod cons in a location of truly outstanding beauty. But it saves the best for night time. Watching the lighthouse do its magic under the stars when the sun goes down is simply breathtaking. It has to be seen to be believed. The sound of the wind and the waves add to that. It's better than any medicine a doctor could prescribe.

Susan the house manager is an absolute lady and couldn't have been more helpful to us, and hats off to her for maintaining this truly class act.

We are thrilled to read this wonderful review of your stay at JP Ketch. It sounds like you had a really special time there and we're glad that the lighthouse and the location were able to provide that setting for you. Great that Susan had you well looked after! We had another brilliant experience with a Landmark Trust lighthouse - this time in Co Down. As ever the experience was wonderful and a full digital detox in comfortable surrounds. What's more, is was truly super to meet Anne on site. Our kids loved exploring for crabs in the rockpools and we enjoyed exploring the Mourne Mountains including the Silent Valley - plus relaxing after in the Slieve Donard lighthouse lounge which is dedicated to our temporary home. Thanks again!

We had a fantastic two nights at St John’s Point light house cottages. The accommodation is comfortable and staff friendly. Good to get away from the rest of the world and relax in the quiet atmosphere with a fantastic view. Extra special was the tour of the light house just before we left.

From beginning to end, everything about our stay was perfect. The standards of the accommodation, the utensils and essentials provided, the guidance from ILT staff and the lighthouse's on-site resident. We were 8 friends staying across both cottages for 2 nights and we're all simply dying to go back. Highly recommended and even better than the photos suggest.

My husband and I were visiting Northern Ireland for the first time with the aim of researching some of his ancestry. We wanted a special place to stay and love being near the sea. Ketch was perfect. It was remote and peaceful. Everyone we met was friendly, the surrounding countryside was beautiful and there were some great places to eat - albeit a drive away.

St. John’s Point is a stunning location and seeing the beam from the lighthouse is wonderful. Ketch is very comfortable and well kitted out so highly recommended. It’s a great place to chill out!

All organisation was easy with help from the Manager, Suzan. Ann from the lighthouse is a lovely lady and also very welcoming. Her family stories added a lot of personality to the stay. Thanks to all involved.

A dream come true!! We had a most amazing 2 days at St John's Lighthouse and hope to return again. The location is idyllic, remote and serene. The host was most amazing and accommodating. They cottage was cozy and had all amenities. Only downside was that we were not allowed up the lighthouse itself.

Van Morrison’s ‘Coney Island’ namechecks all the local places including St John’s Point. ‘Wouldn’t it be great if it could be like this all the time?’ he sings – and for two days it was. Suzan made the cottage spotless and welcoming. Ann next door gave us some of her chickens’ eggs with a gorgeously generous and open-hearted note. Daisy Booboo the goat headbutted her way into our hearts. ‘And the craic is good’ ...

Fabulous location with glorious views to the Mourne Mountains and the beauty of the summertime coast. Easy access to the Lecale Way and the beaches at Murlough and Ballyhornan. The site beside the functioning lighthouse is a unique experience. The cottage was full of character and history but also offered all the modern creature comforts and was spotlessly clean. Booking arrangements and access all really easy and efficient.

This is a super place for short or long term break. The location is ideal if you are interested in getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are lots of things to do in the area and some very nice places to eat in Ardglass and Strangford. We were impressed with the cottage. It was clean and comfortable with great facilitates. We didn't miss the TV or Wifi. We're already planning to return.

The goat, ponies, roosters and cat that reside on the property add tremendous character. We particularly enjoyed our encounters Daisy, the friendly goat who will try to get into the cottage at every opportunity! The roosters start crowing as soon as the soon comes up so earplugs might be a good idea if you want a lie in. Great memories to take away.

How lovely it was to be living on the 'footprint' of the former lighthouse keepers house - for a weekend.
While our 1st evening was still & calm, presenting a fantastic sunset - the wind picked up for the remainder of our stay - simulating in a small way - as to what conditions must have been like for the men who worked & the families who lived there - in times past.
JP Ketch is very cosy & warm - with Suzan & Ann being 2 lovely welcoming hosts to explain all we needed to know.
Ann's hens providing part of a very tasty breakfast each morning ... ably assisted by their cockerels heralding the dawn!
We would highly recommend staying here at St. John's Point - being a perfect place to unwind & enjoy all nature has to offer - complimented by some some lovely restaurants such as in Ardglass & in Carlingford.

It is so lovely to hear that you had such a great stay at Ketch and got to experiance both fine and a little rougher weather during your stay. It really does make you appreciate the kind of conditions that people endured whilst tending to the lighthouse trying to keep those out to sea safe. Thank you so very much for recommending the landmark experience to other potential guests who would like to "unwind and enjoy all nature has to offer". We really do appreciate your support.

What an amazing escape. The setting, the property, the people: it was all great. I wasn't expecting to place to be so well appointed and to have a kitchen so well equipped: if I'd know it was going t be so comfortable I'd have stocked up a bit more on groceries and never left the immediate locale for the 3 days we were there. Thanks to Suzan for the very warm welcome and to Anne (who lives on site) for the amazing eggs and the really helpful information on the area: you both added that special something!
The only reason I can think of that would prevent me from going back here in the near future is the desire to try more of the Heritage Trust's properties: if they are in any way close to as nice as this place is then future stays around Ireland are going to be a real treat.

A magical stay at the JP Ketch with our 2 children aged 9 and 13. We had a very warm welcome from Suzan who told us all there was to know about staying in the house and the area in general. The house was really warm and cozy. It was very well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen so if you need to cook or want to stay in...you can do so in comfort and style! There is a Mace in nearby Killough to buy supplies. The view from the house is magnificent as you have a panoramic view of the sea. There is also a lovely patio area to sit out and breathe in the lovely fresh sea air. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and very warm...beds lovely and comfortable! There is a great opportunity for quiet walks and to enjoy the rocky sea front. You can also visit some historical ruins close by so it is clearly a place that is steeped in history. We had lovely meals in Aldos in Ardglass and The Cuan Strangford - food top class and not too far away. All this ...but the lighthouse ... WOW to see the beam sweeping over the bay under a starry sky was nothing short of magical!! If you're on the fence about booking this place, hop off and book it...you will absolutely LOVE it

Ketch was home for two nights for 3 university friends coming together from various parts of the UK to celebrate 3 big birthdays. It could not have been more perfect and Susan from the Landmark Trust and Anne, the lighthouse assistant could not have been more welcoming or helpful.

The accommodation is more spacious than we anticipated, the kitchen is brilliantly equipped and the décor clever; it's clean and modern whilst somehow retaining the charm of an old cottage.

Great location too. Pleasant walks in the fields near the cottage and a short drive north or south along the Mourne coastal route for beautiful views and beach walks.

In short, it couldn't have been better and we all hope there will be another occasion that requires us to return!

I stayed at JP Ketch with my father and 4yo daughter and we had a great time. The house is in very good shape from the inside, and it felt like a nice little home. Outside its a very peaceful place too and we spend our time taking hikes and climbing through the rocks at the coast and the last day we went up the lighthouse to enjoy the magnificent view.

It was really a amazing place. Susan and Ann were so nice and everything was perfect.
The house was really clean and big. The headlight was really beautiful at night and also in the day. And with our 2 children (12 and 17 years old) it was possible to go all around the headlight. Furthermore there were nice animals there : a goat, kitten, poneys...
It was really 2 unforgettable days and out of time.

It is so lovely to hear that you and your family had such a wonderful time at Ketch during your recent stay. The location of this lightkeeper's cottage on the St. John's Point lighthouse complex really does give our guests a glimpse at the beauty and, if a storm hits, the harshness of the life of a lightkeeper (including the hens, goat, kittens, etc).

Very good, except for the fact that this review has big demands on the reviewer fi the obligatory 100 words?! Why not settle for the multiple choice? This will keep a lot of people of from reviewing.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at an Irish Landmark Trust property. We do appreciate your feedback and marking. I am very sorry but Irish Landmark do not determine the word capacity required for the reviews as it is an independent review site who contacts guests for their feedback. However, I will pass on your comments to them directly.

Great location. House spotless. Staff who look after it are brilliant. But the public wander around the property all the time so, no privacy. You cannot sit outside without intrusion and people continually look in the windows as there are no curtains. This is a big problem because there is inadequate signage. It should state clearly that the property is private. This is very dissappointing wheb you go for a quiet short break and Irish Landmark Trust fail to make you aware of the lack of privacy, which I believe they are aware.

Bookings Officer for Irish Landmark Trust replied more than 1 year ago
Irish Landmark has only recently become aware that new signage at the site entrance, erected by Irish Lights, has caused confusion and has recently led to an increase of public footfall. The matter is being addressed urgently with Irish Lights, to ensure there is an understanding that the area within the boundaries of the lighthouse is private property. The land surrounding the walled lighthouse station is public property and has always attracted walkers.

A walking base for Co. Down, full of character.

A very clean, comfortable and well-appointed collage which was an excellent base for exploring the country around Strangford Lough, and for walking the coast of County Down and the Mournes (all helped by glorious summer weather). The cottage, in the lighthouse compound, has terrific atmosphere.

The JP Ketch lighthouse is a very dramatic setting, the living quarters are cozy , clean and the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and very clean. The location on the Irish Sea is beautiful, lighthouses and their history are my husband's passion, staying here was a dream fulfilled for us.JP Ketch is a look-back in history- the working light is mesmerizing, the property is authentic , we are very glad we were able to spend a few nights there.

We arrived at Ketch just when the Orange weather warning was to hit the Co. Down coastline and were worried it would hinder our stay at St. John's Point but in all honestly, it only added to the amazing experience we had at this incredible Irish Landmark property. I must start with the House Manager. I have no words at how wonderfully welcome we were made to feel from the moment we arrived at Ketch. The warmth in the welcome we received was 100% genuine and that immediately made us all relax and by the end of the quick show around of the property and guide to how everything worked, we knew we were on to a winner here. Suzan then left us to our own devices and we quickly settled in, with a cup of tea and began to unpack for our stay. The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked up with everything you would need delph, utensils and cutlery wise. There some basic supplies too like sugar & tea bags, etc which was a lovely touch and I am sure well appreciated by those who may have forgotten an item or two. The house was immaculate. And I mean spotlessly clean! The property is older and right beside the sea so there is a little wear and tear of the outside walls but that is to be expected considering the bashing the weather throws at it and the fact the property is 174 years old! We were confirmed to inside for the first evening and night due the the orange weather warning but it was just fantastic. Plenty of board games, books, cards, lighthouse information, etc to while away the hours. When darkness fell we spent lots of time looking out the windows watching the beams of light from the lighthouse pierce through the storm outside across the waves. It was an incredible first night and we felt so secure, warm and safe in Ketch all night as the storm howled around us. We woke to sunshine the next morning and we emerged from Ketch all ready for our exploration of the local area. But we didn't go far. The sea was still rough so we spent all morning exploring the coastline for washed up treasures and just taking time to appreciate the power of the sea, the work of lightkeepers and rescue personal trying to keep people at sea safe, and how important it is to keep places like Ketch and Sloop open to the public who need to be reminded from time to time that life is precious and we need to take time out like this with the people we love. There was a teenager in our group and she did not mention the mobile once, which shocked us all a bit. Out of the whole trip she said by far this was the best and she didn't want to leave so soon. Now if that is not a good indication of how wonderful this place is, I do not know what is.

It is wonderful to read your lovely review of our very special property Ketch at St. John's Point in Co. Down. Irish Landmark is delighted to hear that you had a full Landmark experience and also that the weather gave you such brilliant shows. It is a great place to be stuck in during a storm but also a fantastic place to explore when the sun shines. It is especially lovely to hear that the teenager in your group enjoyed it so much and didn't miss their electronics too much. That is the great thing about a stay at an Irish Landmark Trust property. People may be a little worried about no connection to the outside world but once they arrive there and experience it, all worries fade away and re-connections with friends and family unfold.

The peace and solitude of this place was exactly what we needed. From bird watching and ship spotting at the breakfast table to star gazing at night with bats swooping through the comforting sweep of the lights. We loved every minute.
It's obvious how much thought and care went into the restoration of the house, and it is cosy and comfortable while still retaining it's character. Suzan was so welcoming and helpful. And Daisy the goat who thinks she's a dog also trotted up each day to say hello!
Our daughter is already asking when we are going back!

This is a gem of a location! The house is well kept, cozy, and perfect for a small family or couple. I stayed with my friend, and we had everything we needed to cook our meals and feel at home. The lighthouse is a little tricky to get to, but the views make it all worth while. I would stay here again in a heart beat. It was the perfect stay!

Returning to JP Ketch, after a first long-weekend visit last year, we were delighted to find this wonderful spot entirely unchanged. The 2-bedroomed cottage is immaculately clean, preserving the very best of the original feel and fittings - but with the modern comforts of central heating, a power shower, hot water bottles, a fully- and very thoughtfully-equipped kitchen and a good selection of books to read. It was a pleasure to sit in the cosy living room, listening to the waves and the wind outside and, at night, watching the lighthouse beams sweeping past. Suzan and Paula had left the house in pristine condition, with a welcome tea-tray ready, including hot-cross buns. Although the lighthouse is located on a remote headline, it's within a short drive of beautiful beaches, the Mourne Mountains, Castle Ward and the Strangford Lough ferry, for access further north - so there's lots to do in the surrounding area.

Our stay at St Johns Point was extremely nostalgic. Having lived as lightkeepers, we explored every corner of the lighthouse compound as we normally would have done in the good old days. We felt that Henry was keeping a watchful eye on us, especially when Ann allowed us with the help of David to go into the old engineroom and start the fog-signal engines. These type of engines were used profusely by the Irish Lights for pumping up the air pressure to operate the fog horns, alas, all now in the history books. However St Johns Point is so lucky to have retained these engines and they should be placed in the care of David to continue Henry's good work. They really are an asset to the Irish Landmark Trust, to help promote the work they do. The house 'Ketch' is spotless and so comfortable. These type of houses were built at many lighthouse stations by George Halpin senior and we would have lived in them as children growing up and later working out on the rock stations, so now you can see where nostalgia crept in. When Suzan is speaking to you she is always smiling and exudes a warm personality that makes you feel at home on arrival. A credit to the Irish Landmark Trust.

Thank you for your wonderful notes about your stay at Ketch. It is just fabulous to have a lightkeeper visit the property and site and have such a lovely time there. Henry is very much missed indeed and I am sure was looking down on you as the fog horns started up.

A beautiful characterful house with everything we needed for a warm cosy break away from it all but only a stones throw from the local amenities. Suzan was very accommodating when we misjudged our arrival time (early rush hour on a Friday in Newry). We will definitely stay here again, watching the lighthouse beams across the night sky while listening to the waves crash was fantastic.

We stayed 3 nights at this gorgeous property just after St.Stephens' Day. It is located at the end of Point Road, about an hour from Newry. The house is beautiful and the welcome we received from Suzan was very warm and kind. We really enjoyed exploring the area and even managed a quick trip into Belfast for the Sales! A great place to unwind and relax. However we did miss not having an open fire or stove and be careful of the upstairs ceilings!! Very low!! Overall a highly memorable stay in stunning location.

We got a lovely welcome from Suzan on arrival and she explained everything we needed to know about our stay clearly and carefully.
The first impression on walking in is calm and sets the tone for a pleasant stay. It was lovely to have fresh flowers in the sitting-room and kitchen to greet us on arrival. The brown bread, tray bakes and home-made jam supplied were a nice touch too.

The Kitchen is well equipped with utensils and saucepans. The nautical theme on the tins is very attractive and appropriate for a lighthouse keeper’s cottage! it is a comfortable pleasant place to stay

We loved St.John's Point so much we made a return visit, this time with my husband's parents. There was plenty of room for us not to feel on top of each other and the absence of a telly made the evenings very peaceful and relaxing - reading, chatting and listening to the wind, rain and waves outside. The lighthouse is beautiful any time of the year!

My boyfriend and I along with another couple spent a fantastic weekend away at St John's Point in November. Seeing the lightbeam shining out bright from the lighthouse on the Friday evening as we drove down the path to our house added to the excitement of what turned into a great weekend. Paula met us at the house and we were greeted with a lovely warm house which has been beautifully restored and decorated. The house is very well equipped which made dining in the house easy and the bedrooms were very comfortable which made it hard to peel ourselves out of bed!
We were met with beautiful scenery each morning when we woke up with the sun shining through the front door of the house and from there enjoyed some lovely walks in the area.

We had a brilliant weekend and just enjoyed being in the house. We all would have happily stayed on for another few day and are eager to make a return trip!

Warm, comfortable, all the mod cons in a beautiful setting - it couldn't be better really. And it is within easy distance of plenty of interesting places to visit and lovely walks to have. The views by day and night are so beautiful, rugged rocks and sea, and nothing can compare to the sweeping beam of the lighthouse at night.

From the moment we could see the lighthouse beam flashing in the distance guiding us on the final leg of our journey on arrival on Friday evening (equinox) to our departure on Sunday, we felt we had stepped out of our day to day world into another time - a fantastic alternative reality.

The house itself was warm and welcoming - a real home. Suzan's personal welcome and tips - the scones and homemade plum jam; the cleanliness, the fully stocked kitchen - including assortments like tea/sugar/washing liquid, the linen, the furnishings in keeping with the house/time - everything was perfect.
Henry, the lighthouse attendant, and Goldie (the dog) made us feel so welcome. Henry is a great font of information.
The weather was blustery but clear during the day, and we had great views of the surrounding area and birdlife. We walked along the coastal path to Killough [mucky at times] and found the Ann Boal Inn - a great old style pub with open fire and welcoming ambience. Landlord Malachi, and his customers made us feel so at home, it was difficult to drag ourselves away - especially on discovering there was no taxi service...... But shortly after setting off on our hike home (this time along the road), Malachi came swooping along in his car and delivered us to our door.
We were snug and happy in our home, no draughts, as the wind blew round the house and rain tapped against the windows giving us a flavour of what a true gale might be like during the winter.
Value for money: We all expected a weekend in a lighthouse to be an expensive experience. But truly - great value and a priceless experience

Absolutely beautiful place, with every possible amenity in the house. Stunning location with fabulous sunset. Place was spotlessly clean on arrival with beautiful bed linen, plenty of towels and very nice and cosy. There is an outdoor table and chairs, blankets for the couches and plenty of interesting books to read. There is also salt, pepper and cooking oil in the presses. We will definitely be back.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of your stay at Ketch, in Co. Down. I have taken the liberty of translating your lovely review to English for other guests to read (do forgive me but I used the internet so apologies for any translation errors). Glad to hear that you had a lovely and relaxing stay and hopefully got to take lots of photos. please do share on our social media platforms if you can. It is always lovely to see photogrpahs from guests. "We rented the Lightkeeper house for a weekend. The contact and the booking ran smoothly and very friendly. To the arrival there was a small welcome package and a very warm greeting at the arrival. The house is perfectly furnished, incredibly cozy and comfortable. It has really thought of everything and works without restriction. We slept very well in the very comfortable beds. There neither television or internet in the house. Also I had no internet reception in the whole area. Just lovely! Although all the technology such as hot water and heating, washing machine etc. are up to date, one feels immediately in a different time upon arrival. The lighthouse itself is not accessible as it is in operation. The light shining starts at nightfall. The lighthouse keeper also lives on the premises. He is very friendly and also gives tips. His dog is very playful. The facility, the water, the lighthouse offer countless possibilities for the photographer fan, at any time of the day. We spent a very relaxing weekend there, could very well switch off and would gladly again go there. It was hard for us to leave".

What can you say about the chance to stay in your very own working lighthouse - except awesome! From the moment the wonderful Suzan Smyth welcomed us to the spot to the moment we left the Lighthouse was a brilliant experience. The cottages were well cared for and set up - very clean and well appointed - the grounds were great and the view and landscape was second to none - you are right on the ocean with waves crashing onto the rocks and the most beautiful sunrises over the water - we were only there 2 nights - we needed double that!

Great holiday. A treat to have no social media or tv. Lighthouse keeper was very friendly. Very relaxing holiday overall with stunning views. The cottage was very impressive with all the old features, it felt like we had travelled back in time. It was a unique experience.

What a beautiful spot. Renovated house was perfect with all the amenities we needed. Very comfortable but still rugged enough to keep the feeling of being remote and experiencing a little of the life of a "light-keeper." Our house was very flexible and thorough explaining all the workings of our house. Overall a wonderful experience.

It had been a long lasting desire to stay in a lighthouse and we were very much positively surprised about the offered comfort and standard. The taste of the equipment fully corresponds to the surrounding and there were absolutely no complaints.

The JP Ketch cottage at St. John's Point, Co. Down is a magical place to stay: right next door to the giant yellow and black lighthouse, at the end of a windswept point, with the sea literally at the end of the garden. The cottage has been beautifully and thoughtfully restored, providing every modern comfort (including central heating, a perfectly equipped kitchen and a great shower) while retaining the quirky character of the original. There were books to read and board games to play. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous: Mourne Walks to suit all levels of fitness; the endless strand at Murlough Reserve; the Strangford-Portaferry ferry ride, after lunch in the Artisan's Cookhouse; an afternoon at Mount Stewart...We'll hope to be back soon.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my mum and it was absolutely gorgeous. A beautiful location by the sea, we could have hibernated here for months, we didn't want to leave! The house was really cosy and comfortable with absolutely everything we needed, loved all the little nautical touches throughout the house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the JP Ketch. The location is beautiful and the house is neat and comfortable, but nevertheless takes you back in time. Great that there is no wifi. Good opportunity to read a book. And at night the stars are amazing.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at St John's Point. The cottage was in an amazingly scenic location and finished beautifully inside. It had all the facilities you would want for a self-catering stay and was incredibly clean and also was cosy even when the wind was howling outside! The views out to sea and of the sunrise were amazing and there were lovely places to explore nearby, with the coastal walk to Killough a real highlight and the nearby sights such as Ballynoe Stone circle, Dundrum Castle, and all the heritage sites relating to St Patrick worth visiting. There are some very nice restaurants down the road in Dundrum and Killough and Ardglass are well worth a visit. Paula, who greeted us when we arrived, was incredibly welcoming and had laid the table for afternoon tea with some of her own baked bread and honey, just what we needed after our journey there on a chilly Autumn evening.

JP Ketch is a lovely cottage. It is very well finished with careful consideration of original features. The cottage is clean, warm and everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided (towels, etc). The kitchen has all you need and is a lovely space to prepare meals. There is lots of reading material.

We were welcomed by Suzan who provided a detailed tour of the cottage and left some treats :) Thank you

The sound of the waves and the wind was brilliant.

Our stay at the lighthouse was an exceptional experience: the location is stunning, the house in its tasteful simplicity is very warm and all this under the surrounding nightlights of the lighthouse.
Sitting in the warm house a book on your knees, listening to a rainstorm howling around the house, watching the waves getting higher and higher is as beautiful as hiking on the coast-trail to Killough.
Suzan is a very warmhearted, welcoming host, who maintains the house with so much care: fresh flowers in the windows, a nicely prepared table for tea, a good bottle of wine, milk and butter in the fridge, tea and coffee, ... everything was shining, clean and comfortable.

Staying in the old lighthouse keepers cottages right next to St. Johns Point Lighthouse is something very special, almost magical. The history of the location surrounds you just as much as the comforts that are tastefully provided by Irish Landmark Trust. If you are looking for some quiet time by the sea , look no further. But dont be shy getting out and meeting the locals. Warmth and hospitality will be plentiful.
