My wife, two young sons and myself had an incredible long week end spent at Kester Cottage, at Compton Pool Farm. The location is idyllic, in the rolling green Devon hills. The cottage was beautifully clean, and was kitted out with everything you could ask for. The facilities were very impressive, the games room you could spend hours in, as you could in the cosy, heated swimming pool! Our eldest boy ( aged 6), before our week end here had a fear of water, but when we travelled back to Cornwall he was confident at swimming underwater! This was all thanks to the lovely heated swimming pool, a very short walk away from Kester Cottage. So to see him smiling and loving the water was really heart warming. The farm animals were great, and once more our boys spent their mornings watching the animals and one morning they helped Paul feed some of them. The wildlife was varied and there is an abundance of wild and bird life around the pools. I was lucky to capture a few nice images of the local heron, buzzards and greater spotted woodpecker. All in all, our long week end at Compton Pool Farm was 10/10. Debbie, Paul and Dexter were perfect hosts, and in all honesty we couldn't have had a better stay.

Everything! The location, the facilities and wildlife.

We have stayed at different cottages on Compton Pool farm over the years and always have a fabulous time. The welcome tray with tea and coffee, milk and fresh cake are a lovely touch for the weary traveller on arrival, the swimming pool, tennis court, games room and play equipment kept my children and nephews occupied for hours and it was nice to be able to base ourselves from the cottages for a few hours after a trip out etc. Great location for numerous local attractions and beaches. Lovely restaurant recommendations. We can’t wait to visit again.

Extra tea towels perhaps, but nothing really!

Excellent facilities in a pretty and tranquil setting. Debbie and Paul are very helpful. We also rented Bow, and each night our family of six ate dinner there. Bow is a one bed, but extra chairs were there so we could eat together, then clear up while our grandchildren were got ready for bed.
This was our family’s third stay!

What did you enjoy most about Compton Pool?
Heated indoor swimming pool was immaculate and also much enjoyed the rabbits, where we could go into the run.

We had a very happy week here and look forward to coming again. Perfect location for lots of day trips and our kids loved the animals and pool. The little personal touches and welcome Debbie and Paul provided made us feel wonderfully at home. A brilliant place to stay.
