We had a lovely stay on the farm with a group of friends and young children. Lynda was a fantastic host and the kids had the best time with so much room to explore and things to do. In particular they loved riding Woody, the play area, collecting eggs and watching the cows be milked. The cream tea was delicious too! We will definitely be back!

We have just had the most fantastic week at Bampfield Farm. We used both cottages as we are a large group including grandparents and small children. Lynda was so welcoming and had left us the most beautiful scones on arrival.

The cottages are beautiful and the views from the garden are stunning. Outside the cottages are plenty of seating areas for evening drinks and meals outside. The garden play area was phenomenal with multiple play houses, swings, slide, toy tractors to ride on and even a larger wooden tractor to sit in. The children were never bored and loved being outside in the fresh air. The separate indoors play room was full of great toys and activities too.

The morning feeds were led by Lynda and she was incredibly kind and skilled with the young children. The adults were most excited with the eggs that were collected as they were delicious. We also had the chance to have a pony ride for all the children and a visit to the dairy farm which were both great.

The children are still talking now about their favourite goats and when they can ride a pony again. We all had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Bampfield Farm.

Bampfield Farm is an amazing location with stunning views. Lynda and Neil and the friendliest hosts you will meet; their farm activities add to the stay, especially for the younger ones. The animals are gorgeous and the accommodation beautifully traditional. I thoroughly recommend this holiday.

A home away from home. A Huge cottage set amongst the beauty of Devon. Farmer Lynda was kind, helpful and a marvellous teacher taking our son egg collecting, hen and goat feeding as well as pony trekking - involving grooming and an explanation of all things equestrian. The cottage was excellent - just right: well furnished and welcoming.
We had a special family time.
Thanks Lynda and Granny thinks you are the best!

This holiday rental has it all. A warm welcome from owner Lynda, with freshly home made scones and all the ingredients for a cream tea, perfect positioning to enjoy Exmoor and the North Devon coast, and plenty to entertain "children" of all ages. We stayed in Granary Cottage, the larger of two cottages on this working farm, and there was plenty of space for my Wife and me, two of our sons, one daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters aged 4 and 1 years old. We went to the Tesco superstore in Barnstaple before arrival at the farm to stock up on provisions for our long weekend over the May Bank Holiday.
Having settled in, we were given a guided tour of the farm by Lynda and the children were delighted to find the swings, slide and climbing frame in the garden above the farm. Whilst the ladies were admiring the beautiful views over the countryside towards Barnstaple and Start Point, the older, male "children" discovered a football and goal for some target practice.
Next to Granary Cottage is a large playroom filled with more than enough toys and games to keep youngsters happy, whilst the adults enjoyed using the pool table once the children were in bed.
Highlights for our granddaughters were the regular morning egg collection and chicken feeding, the feeding of the two goats, and a ride on Woody, the Dartmoor pony, for the 4 year old.
Away from the cottage, I would particularly mention visits to Watermouth Castle, and the cliff railway between Lynton and Lynmouth as highlights for the children.
I would heartily recommend a stay at Granary Cottage as ideal for all the family, and we have already decided to return for a full week next year. Thank you Lynda for letting us stay at your delightful property, and for being such a charming host - see you next year.

Bampfield farm is situated in a beautiful spot. Amazing views of the coast. The cottage was warm, comfortable with everything you need. Hosts were very friendly and professional. Lynda supplied a beautiful afternoon cream tea. We had visits to chickens to collect eggs, fed the goats and had pony rides. Our grandchildren were extremely happy with everything on offer and had a wonderful holiday. We will definitely return to Bampfield farm.

A lovely weekend stay at Granary Cottage. We arrived to find freshly baked scones with jam and fresh cream waiting for us, baked by the owner Lynda. A lovely touch! The cottage itself was perfect, spotlessly clean and was in a great location, easy to travel around to different areas of interest. We had our grandchildren with us and thanks to Neil the farmer who is the owner, they had a great time meeting the pony, goats and the chickens who the kids were able to collect fresh eggs from in the mornings. Not to forget the cats who spent time with us in our cottage. All in all, a great place to stay and would thoroughly recommend. We will be sure to return.
