What a fantastic property that gave us everything we needed. From booking to staying communication was excellent and by far the best property we have stayed in the Lake District. We were a group of 10 and it met every need we had, close to some lovely walks and to visit all the Lakes. Also fantastically clean and a lovely welcome pack was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend
We selected this property because it is a traditional cottage in a location half way between Norfolk and Inverness. It turned out be perfect, cleanliness was excellent, a slightly knocks and crannies type house which suited us. Easy access to Ulswater and Pooley Bridge and only a couple of minutes from the Horse and Farrier pub with good food and a classic country pub. Our host provided us with everything we needed and the Red Squirrels were on hand to enjoy the Hazel nuts. Peaceful, pretty and perfect. We may well pay a return visit.
We stayed at the Gardeners Retreat and were very pleased with our stay. Everything was ready and waiting for us and we particularly liked how very clean it was. I did try ring beforehand to confirm if there was an iron but unfortunately I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. Would be an added bonus to add an iron in the accommodation. Otherwise, no complaints. I recommend you to book accommodation here, you will not be disappointed!
It really was the ideal place for my other half to do the Macmillan Mighty Hike from, the serentiy & hot tub to soothe those aching muscles was bliss for her.
We stayed in the Yew Tree cabin, it was very pleasant and peaceful atmosphere. The kitchen was well equipped but could have done with a 2 person cafetière. Lovely soft towels and robes were provided along with a very nice bathroom. The bed is massive, so no problem spreading out. The lounge area was nice and comfortable too. The hot tub was very pleasant once heated, it takes about 2 hours to get to temperature, but be careful not to put to much wood in as this keeps heating when you are sat in the tub and can become very hot. Had a lovely stay in Brow Wood Cabin. The cabin is well equipped. The location is great and is handy to get to nearby towns.
Lacet Cottage is a lovely cottage in an excellent location. The cottage is close to the A66, giving easy access to the northern lakes and the Eden Valley. The cottage is generally well equipped, but more crockery and bakeware would be useful. On the whole it is very good value for money.
This is my 2nd stay at these cabins and both times were amazing. Lovely welcome package as you arrive and helpful with setting up present on arrival Will be rebooking.
