Striking the balance between heritage and contemporary living, our cottages and cabins are just a stone's throw away from Ullswater. Spend the day adventuring in the Lakes and return to a nook of luxury where you can relax in complete privacy.
Wherever you choose to stay, there will always be a warm welcome, personal service and thoughtful touches throughout their visit.
A wonderful house in a wonderful location! Kate and the team can’t do enough to make everything right. For the northern lakes this is absolutely the ‘go to’ place for a comfortable, cosy and welcoming stay. Simply beautiful accommodation that ticks every box and will makes you very glad you chose it!
Home Farm is a beautiful well appointed property in a great location in the Northern Lakes, only a short drive from Ullswater and Dewentwater. The cottage is really well appointed with super comfy beds. The garden is beautiful- make sure to feed the red squirrels they are such a delight. Despite being close to the A66 there is little or no road noise and it’s only a quick drive into Penrith where the neared supermarkets are located. Kate was really friendly and the welcome hamper was a wonderful treat. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Yew Tree cabin is a warm and cosy cabin in a perfect location. There are amazing views from the cabin, and very easy access to The Lakes and the Eden Valley. The flexible arrival and departure days are a major attraction. The only minor issues were the lack of coat hooks by the main entrance, and a kettle, as the boiling water tap was awkward to use, especially for arthritic hands!
We stayed in the gardeners retreat for my husband’s 30th birthday weekend. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog. The area is so peaceful and the garden was perfect for our dog. The cabin itself has everything you need with a fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was good fun to warm us up after long days of walking.
We were lucky enough to win a New Year break in the Herdwick Cabin. The cabin was immaculate and really well designed. Despite experiencing all the winter weathers that Lake District can offer we stayed warm and dry. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we could have possibly needed.
The welcome basket and message were a really lovely touch too. The highlight was definitely spending New Year’s Night, sat in the hot tub, watching the starry skies and catching a glimpse of the northern lights. A real moment of magic.
The cabin is so accessible from the A66. It’s less than 20 minu...more
A cottage we would certainly look to return to. Comfortable beds, settees and good sized kitchen. Good quality bathrooms. A couple of recommendations. A good sized cafeteria was missed (we had to buy one) and more drinking glasses would be useful.
Also noted some development being undertaken in the opposite field. Would this be more cottages being built?
We had the best stay at brow wood cabin!
A gorgeous little cabin, really clean and perfect to bring your puppy with you.
The owners even left us some treats to enjoy and it was all around the perfect weekend!
This is my 2nd stay at these cabins and both times were amazing.
Lovely welcome package as you arrive and helpful with setting up present on arrival
Will be rebooking.
