Our second stay in the Salutation apartment was once again fabulous - the apartment has wonderful views and amenities and along with the whole of the Netherby Hall estate is very well maintained. We walked around the estate several times with our dog (the gardens are lovely) and visited the Tuille Museum in Carlisle and Talkin Tarn for a walk, both of which are close by. Another wonderful meal at Pentonbridge Inn and fantastic concert by the Brodsky Trio in Netherby Hall all contributed to an unforgettable few days.

Suzanne shared loads of suggestions of things to do while we were there which was amazing. It’s a great location.

We were able to go Aira Force Waterfall on the way, had the best food of our lives at Pentonbridge inn, went on a walk to Lambley Viaduct, had amazing food at Hidden River cafe and went stargazing at Kielder Observatory.

We stayed in Salutation and the apartment was huge. We walked round the grounds multiple times as the view is amazing.

The fenced-in area to let the dog off the lead is huge. Everything was dog friendly and so welcoming.

The walled garden is beautiful and Suzanne was so helpful in making our weekend perfect as she helped set up the summer house so I could propose.

We got stuck in the mud just outside the grounds. Jeff and John helped us immediately and John even got all the mud off our car!

We booked into the Salutation accommodation at Netherby Hall. We were welcomed warmly and settled into our apartment which was beautifully clean and comfortably fitted with high quality furnishings. We had access to the well kept grounds and walled garden. The calm, and restful atmosphere of the estate was restorative and relaxing for us.
As part of our stay at Netherby we booked an eight course tasting lunch at the nearby Michelin Starred Inn. A Beautifully crafted meal, excellent wine and service. Our return journey to Netherby was by horse drawn carriage, pulled by two handsome black horses, Dino and Jake, expertly driven by Gerald and Margo, hosts and owners of Netherby Hall. Sad to leave on third day but we have lasting memories of a special place which casts a magical spell over you and calls you to return.

We stayed 5 nights between selling our house and moving to our new home in Scotland. The apartments are beautiful as are the grounds. We particularly loved the dog exercise area (or rather Lizzie did) and the work that is ongoing on the walled garden is gorgeous. Everyone we met was so lovely and we really enjoyed exploring the surrounding area which we didn't know at all and found very beautiful.
