We booked a week in Scotland for October half term to see some mountains. We’ve been to Scotland many times before but not in the autumn, so were not quite sure what to expect. Steading Cottage was an excellent base to explore the Oban area. The weather was not great but Scotland was simply stunning in it’s autumn colours, enhanced by low cloud and the occasional shower sweeping past. We had enough clear weather to climb the favourites in the area. Even the teenagers had a great time, finding waterfalls to swim in. Thank you to Steading Cottage our hosts for making an enjoyable and memorable holiday comfortable warm and easy. We look forward to our next trip north.

Steading Cottage has everything you could ask for if you like peace and quiet in the most beautiful setting plus the opportunity to explore the delights of Argyll. The cottage is warm and cosy with very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and the best equipped kitchen I've ever found in a self catering cottage. There are several excellent places to eat nearby and plenty of things to do within the area. We could not fault it.

If you're looking for peace and tranquility near the sea in a location which is easily accessible from Glasgow or Edinburgh, this is the place for you! The cottage is furnished to a high standard and extremely well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The ground floor ensuite is perfect for anyone who struggles with stairs and the views from the upstairs bedrooms are beautiful. There are short walks along the beach and around the point as well as longer walks nearby and several good restaurants not far away but do book ahead. This is a lovely spot to relax and enjoy being surrounded by nature and Ralph was helpful and easy to communicate with.

My family of 5 stayed at the Steading Cottage and it was spectacular! It is a beautiful, well appointed cottage with ample space in the most ideal setting. It was so clean and comfortable! They provided everything we needed and more! I kept saying I could just move in and stay forever! Fantastic!!

2nd time staying here, great accommodation and access to local mountains. House is very comfortable with all amenities, hosts communicate well and local shop provides basic foods. We had a dog who thoroughly enjoyed hikes and local walks.

The property had everything we needed and provided a great family stay for the six of us.
It is in a beautiful setting and walking distance to port Appin.
The communication with Ralph was excellent and timely.
We would definitely recommend to anyone else thinking of staying on the west coast of Scotland.
