A very well appointed property with much consideration for persons with disability. A very lovely and private location within easy reach of Rutland Water and the surrounding villages. Some nice goodies awaiting our arrival (very good loaf of bread) and Sarah was very attentive in case of any 'needs'.

We enjoyed a wonderful family break at The Old Stables, the cottage is so spacious yet also cosy and welcoming. Our daughter has mobility issues and we found the access into and around The Old Stables and it's outside spaces to be excellent. The accessible bathroom was also excellent, really clean and modern and the folding shower door worked really well from a carer point of view. We requested a shower chair in advance which was waiting for us on arrival. The cottage was immaculately clean and the beds are super comfortable! We found the kitchen to be really well equipped and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Castle Chase is set in a very peaceful location yet is just a few minutes drive from the pretty market town of Uppingham with shops, cafes, etc. We enjoyed exploring the area and had a great trip to Rutland Water which is also really accessible. We would highly recommend a stay here!

We've enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing stay here at The Stables. The accommodation is very attractive and well designed and maintained. The accessibility features have been a great help for family members with limited mobility.
Sarah takes great care to anticipate your every need and the home cooked food and beef from the farm shop, was delicious.

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend at the Old Stables. An amazing place in a wonderful location.
Everything has been well thought out and so accessible for my not so mobile 85 year old mum.
We had everything that we needed (and more) and the support before and during our stay was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble.
We hope to return with the rest of our family soon.

We had the most amazing stay! The cottage felt so clean, warm and spacious with wonderful beds, hot showers and a well equipped kitchen. Sarah the owner popped by once we had checked in to ensure we were happy and see if we needed anything. It was a real home from home to come back to each evening after working at Burghley Horse Trials. We will be back next year without a doubt!

We enjoyed our stay at The Old Stables and recommend this thoughtfully created accessible holiday home. There is plenty of space inside facilitating easy use of our daughters powered wheelchair. The house backs onto a quiet country road but there is a fully enclosed garden with patio at the back (which was great for our dog and visiting small grandchildren) and there is ample parking for 3 cars.
Sarah and Sue were friendly, helpful and easily contactable if we needed anything and it is clear that they endeavour to ensure that guests have memorable stay.

I am a wheelchair user and holidays have felt impossible for years but Sarah made it easy with no fuss.
The Old Stables is is like a dream home with top quality, beautiful, well maintained fixtures and fittings.
The cottage was beautiful and well thought through for people with disabilities, but what Sarah actually gave us was the first holiday we've had since 2016. The holiday was carefree and I felt 'normal', which is priceless.

Our second stay at The Old Stables and it won't be our last! We are a group of 4 with two wheelchair users and a dog. The accommodation is perfect for our needs providing plenty of space for us all and our various bits of equipment.
The kitchen is very well equipped and has plenty of crockery and cutlery. The property has been beautifully designed and the space works with two wheelchairs - its so lovely to find a property where we can stay together as so often only one bedroom is accessible!
We loved having the beautiful cows in the field next door and enjoyed watching them roam from the patio. The property is so peaceful and quiet, perfectly situated for exploring the area and the gorgeous Rutland countryside.
Nothing is too much trouble here, and the owners are on hand if you need anything.
We will definitely be back, this is one of the best properties we have found for a break!

The Stables were very comfortable, well furnished and fully equipped with everything we needed. The layout was good with enough room for a wheelchair and accessible toilet, sink and showers.
Outside there was a lovely patio area looking out over fields with table and chairs. And plenty of off road parking.
Clearly a lot of thought has gone into making guest's feel relaxed, comfortable and well catered for.
We will be going back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Stables. It is really comfortable, clean, warm and beautifully decorated to a high standard. The kitchen is super well-equipped which really makes a difference when cooking meals in the evening. It's a great place to come back to and relax after a day exploring Rutland towns, villages and countryside. The welcome pack is a really nice touch too and I highly recommend ordering the eggs and local beef from the farm. I'm sure we'll be back at some point!

The Stables is very comfortable and very well-equipped accommodation, set in a beautiful location. When you look out of any window, you see nature: trees, fields and flowers, and hear birdsong. A very restful stay, with hosts who care about their accommodation and your stay. Being able to enjoy a real fire in the log burner and making a smooth coffee with the espresso machine are two of the many highlights in this peaceful space.

The Old Stables is a beautifully presented cottage with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Sarah was so very helpful ahead of our stay and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is set in a lovely rural location and was perfect for our family stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday and the welcome pack was lovely too with delicious bread. The cottage was immaculate with very comfy beds too. Our two Schnauzers were also made very welcome with some tasty treats just for them.
If you want to eat or get delivery from Sarpech Indian, then book early especially for a Saturday. We had a lovely Chinese/Thai meal from Choi’s in Uppingham. Very well located for Rutland Water and visits to Oakham. We will definitely book again.

I’m always looking for cottages that are disabled and dog friendly and this was perfect. Everything to suit my elderly parents, and mother is not easy to please! The walk into Uppingham was easy, although no pavement between the cottage and the first roundabout, but the road wasn’t too busy. Lovely town which provided all our needs. We enjoyed Rutland water and other local towns and relied on eating out or takeaways, although the kitchen is well equipped if you prefer to cook.
Communication was excellent, slight issue with a broken toilet which was fixed immediately, good to know the friendly and helpful owners were available when needed.
Slightly disappointed that the small garden wasn’t dog proof, but we were advised of this so I can’t complain. A bigger well trained dog may be ok, but too many small gaps in the fence for our little hunters!
I have never stayed in the same place twice because I like to visit different areas of the country, but if the old folk wanted to come again I would be more than happy to return.

We’ve loved our week here - thank you so much. Perfect accommodation, extremely comfortable with flexible options to suit both our wheelchair and rollator users. The owners are friendly and very keen to ensure your stay is a success. Furniture is very comfortable. Gorgeous views and we were visited by the farm’s cows and calves plus a bull! The village is picture postcard with a church tucked away along a grassy path. Highly recommended!

This property was perfect for our long weekend. We booked late and luckily we found The Stables by accident. We would have difficulty finding a better property for our family and dog. Although this time it was just the two of us, we would love to go back with the other members of our family. It is spacious and very well finished. I would recommend the property, the owner who checked we were happy and the location. We had a surprise welcome pack which we really appreciated. Uppingham is a lovely place to visit, we have been before and now we have found this property we will be back again.

The property was excellently maintained and equipped in a scenic location, very quiet and peaceful yet a stones throw from main routes allowing easy access to Rutland Water, Oakham and Uppingham, and many picturesque villages. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay to others. We also enjoyed our visits from the cattle!! We hope to visit again in the future.
