Our Northumberland Cottage was a delight, a wonderful mix of old and new -- historic buildings with modern conveniences. We (3 adults) stayed in the Kennelman, that featured 3 spacious bedrooms, a full, well-appointed kitchen, and great common spaces. The hosts, Richard and Fiona, were so helpful, and thought of everything to make the cottage comfortable, attractive and convenient. With so much historical architecture and castles to see in the area, it's no wonder the Harry Potter franchise frequently filmed there. Taking in all the nearby sights, we felt like we were in Harry Potter's backyard!

The Kennelman is a beautiful cottage. It was perfect for our family stay with the dog. The bedrooms are a great size and very comfortable. The amenities in the cottage, as well as the range of utensils, was great for self catering. Everything is provided for your stay, and excellent quality. The dog had her own bowls, throw and treats provided. The enclosed garden meant the dog was safe outside The location was just what we wanted as we were able to take walks from the property and visit the amazing Ingram cafe which exhibits some interesting art work- we bought a couple of paintings. Wooler, Alnwich and Rothbury are all a short drive away. We ate at the Tankerville Arms in Elgingham, which was a 10 minute drive away. A lovely cottage, a great setting with views to die for and the perfect location for walking and visiting small towns in Northumberland.
