Named after the famous author R.F.DELDERFIELD who lived in Sidmouth, Delderfield cottage was a former cider press parlour and some of its charming characterful cob features is still visible within its interior walls. This together with the vaulted ceilings in the open plan living areas form this spacious tastefully decorated and dog-friendly cottage.

We visit Devon at least twice a year and always stay at Bulverton House. The facilities in our room are excellent and we see minor improvements every year. Our hosts are charming and if we ever have a question it’s answered quickly.
Unhesitatingly recommend Bulverton House for a perfect short break in a beautiful part of England.

We had a great stay. The cottage was beautifully set out, immaculately clean, superbly equipped and very comfortable. I don’t think there can be anything that the hosts haven’t thought of. Relaxing the minute you walk through the door. The enclosed garden was private - great for us and our puppy - dog bowls treats and a bed were all provided. The cottage is in a great location for walking to Sidmouth town centre/seafront and driving to other nearby towns. As well as exploring Sidmouth we visited Lyme Regis. Also Beer and Branscombe where you find dog friendly beaches, Salcombe Hill on SW coastal path for fabulous views and A La Ronde National Trust Property. Sidmouth restaurants and cafes are very dog friendly but if you want to stay in we found a Waitrose a short drive away. Thank you to Chris and Ellen who were lovely hosts.

Once again, a fantastic stay at Delderfield. It’s in a wonderful quiet, secluded location with everything you need, and perfect for exploring Sidmouth and East Devon. Chris and Ellen are the perfect hosts - attentive but not intrusive. We will definitely return.

Right from booking the cottage we had excellent communication with Chris and Ellen. We were looking for somewhere with a sea view (no availability) but this was a brilliant compromise (and lucky find) as we could easily walk into the seafront as it was less than a 1 mile away. The cottage was absolutely beautiful; one of the nicest we have stayed in, and just what we were looking for in terms of size and amenities. It was exceptionally clean and well thought out with all mod-cons including a cosy electric fire. The enclosed garden was a great surprise, enjoyed by our dog! Everything was thought of including dog bed and feeding station and the treats and delicious homemade scones were a wonderful touch.
Chris met us on arrival, showed us into our cottage and explained everything we needed to know, they were available if we needed them at all during our stay.
Thank you very much Chris and Ellen for a most enjoyable stay!

The cottage was just perfect with everything we needed and exceptionally clean. Just a mile for Sidmouth seafront meant we could walk in without the hassle of trying to park!

One of the nicest holiday cottages I have stayed in. Very clean, comfortable and with all mod cons. It really was a delight and a lot of thought has gone into the design including the private garden. Thank you Chris and Ellen for a lovely stay!

My wife and I stayed at Delderfield Cottage for 3 nights. The cottage was delightful. It was close enough to Sidmouth to enable us to walk into town and to the front, although the walk back up the hill was tiring.
Chris and Ellen our hosts were super and when we had a problem with the heating they organised somebody to come out and replace a valve very quickly.
The property was spotless inside and had a lovely private garden area adjoining it, although the weather meant that we didn't make use of it.
We found some great places to eat and drink in Sidmouth and of course some fabulous walks along the SW coastal path.

Warm welcome from owners. Good location within walking distance to Sidmouth (about 1mile). Cottage comfortable with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Plenty of places to see & visit in the area. It was our second stay at Bulverton House & we will certainly return in future

We found location perfectly central for Sidmouth, and visiting Lyme Regis, Dorset, Branscombe, Beer, Budleigh Salterton, Topsham and all East Devon has to offer. Will definately return.

Delderfield cottage is very comfortable all that was required for a stay and more! Immaculately clean crisp bedding - sparkling like new bathroom with all necessary accessories all most relaxing and fresh. Great location 15 minute stroll to Sidmouth which is the perfect town to amble through a good range of local shops beachfront straight in front of town and everywhere very dog friendly… Chris and Ellen our hosts on hand when required and a pleasure to spend time with clearly born to host and knowledgeable about the perfect tourist attractions and best eateries! From first point of contact, to a warm welcome on arrival and a lovely goodbye, Chris and Ellen are fantastic hosts! Homemade scones on arrival, and a well throughout, well equipped one bedroom cottage, which is comfortable and well looked after. Great location. 20/30 min walk to Sidmouth, 30 min drive to Lyme Regis. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely visit again.

Can not rate this cottage highly enough,comfortable bed everything super clean kitchen had everything we needed and the welcome hamper was a lovely thought. There is a garden which is private and looked very inviting but due to weather we were unable to benefit from it (great excuse to book again in warmer times). Ellen and Chris were the perfect hosts super friendly and welcoming with great suggestions regarding the area. We loved this place and will return again to spend time in this peaceful little haven. Thank you Ellen and Chris for making our first visit to Sidmouth so enjoyable.
