Named after PETER ORLANDO HUTCHINSON - a Victorian author, poet and artist who spent his adult life in Sidmouth, Orlando cottage is a converted former milking parlour that has been thoughtfully restored and decorated to a delightful holiday home. Its interior walls still bear the original charming brickwork. This together with the exposed roof beams form a more recent adaption of the building, giving much character to this open plan luxurious modern pet-free cottage.

We stayed here for two nights for our anniversary. We arrived late yet the host still came out and welcomed us.
The accommodation was immaculately clean and so lovely. There was personal touches left by the hosts.
I cannot explain how nice the cottage was! Everything was modern, clean and tidy.
We had a great couple of nights.
As an added extra the was an EV charger on site.
Absolutely brilliant, you will not regret staying here.

Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the welcome from Chris & Ellen was warm and friendly. The wine and freshly baked scones left in the cottage for us were much appreciated. The location was convenient for walking into Sidmouth and visiting the local attractions.

We recently had a most enjoyable stay in Orlando Cottage. Welcomed on arrival by Chris, how nice it was to find a cream tea and bottle of wine waiting for us inside - it very much appreciated too. The cottage was peaceful, comfortable and furnished to a high standard throughout, as well as being spotlessly clean. It was perfectly situated for exploring Sidmouth and the coast, as well as being within easy reach of many other Devon attractions. Our one regret was that we were only there for three nights! Highly recommended as a lovely place to stay in a lovely area.

Goed en mooi gelegen huis, vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaar, appartement is van alle gemakken voorzien met goede parkeergelegenheid, en ligt
op loopafstand van het leuke centrum ,strand en prachtige kustlijn van Sidmouth

Absolutely fantastic place ....... loved being there ..... having the space to park the car , with bags of room was just great.
We have been coming to Sidmouth for twenty years . Stayed in many great B+B s. This was another level . The cottage was cosy , warm and beautiful. You are just a stones throw away from the town and sea front . Will definitely be coming back. Loved it

The cottage is one of the best we've stayed in, perhaps the best overall. The bed was very comfortable, and the lounge very pleasant and homely. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were good, and we self catered each evening. There is a courtyard, which is quite private and ideal for sitting out in good weather. The surroundings are also very pleasant and quiet, and there is an allocated parking space. There are nice walks from the cottage towards Sidmouth front and centre and access to some footpaths and an interesting park. For access to the sea front and town centre, we found it more convenient to drive to the front and park in the long-stay car park. The host was welcoming. There is nothing that we could really fault about the cottage or the location.

Wonderful place to stay, cannot recommend this enough.
On arrival we were met by the owner who showed us round, they had left us milk, wine, biscuits and two scones with jam and clotted cream.
We stayed in Orlando and it had everything that you could want, great shower, comfortable bed etc.
It was a pleasant 20 minute walk into Sidmouth, with the option of slight detour through a couple of parks.
All in all it it well worth staying here and we intend to return.

Sadly we only stayed 2 nights, wish we’d had longer. We stayed in Orlando. Probably the best equipped property we’ve stayed in - had everything. Easy down hill walk to Sidmouth - slightly less easy return!!
Can recommend the Marine & the Volunteer for dinner.

Despite arriving later than expected, Chris was there to welcome us and gave us some great recommendations for local food. The cottage itself was lovely, we had everything we needed and the scones and jam were a brilliant touch! Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side for most of the weekend but we still ventured out to explore some of the local area - and had a great time watching films on the television with the fireplace burning away in the evening! And on the last morning when the sun did make an appearance, we had a brilliant breakfast in a local restaurant looking out over the beach which is so close by. We'll make sure to be back when the weather warms up - thank you!

We thought the accommodation was well equipped and very fresh and clean. The swivel tv was amazing. Bed comfortable. And loved the soft white sheets. Kitchen was well equipped and fridge nice and big. Outside looked interesting with lovely places to sit. Everything seemed to be carefully chosen for easy living.

We were greeted by a gorgeous puppy, Popcorn, closely followed by Chris & Ellen. What a lovely welcome.
Orlando was comfortable, clean, cosy & very well laid out.
The wine, scones, Jan & clotted cream were a thoughtful & welcome touch.
The bed was so comfortable with crisp bedding, we slept beautifully.
There was nothing not to like and we hope to return early next year.

We have recently returned from our second visit to Bulverton Holiday Cottages. Lovely welcome pack on our arrival and the cottage is very clean and well presented Chris and Ellen are very friendly and helpful. Sidmouth is a typical English seaside town with plenty of places to eat and lots of activities to enjoy. We have visited the delightful theatre twice this year and thoroughly enjoyed the productions. We shall return.

What a find this place was. Perfect location for exploring the area. 20/30 minute walk into Sidmouth and it’s stunning beaches and coast line.
Chris and Ellen are great hosts and make you feel welcome.
The accommodation was nicely fitted out with all the necessary equipment provided in the kitchen.

It’s very quiet, despite being by a main road. The patio is secluded and private.

Would definitely recommend and we look forward to staying here again.

Fabulous place, with excellent facilities and lovely decor. Great location to travel around Devon and Dorset. Chris and Ellen are so friendly and welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely welcome pack on our arrival and fully equipped cottage with everything we could need. Beautiful gardens and close to Sidmouth and many places to eat. Lovely private patio and outside dining area too. We really felt at home here for the week and will certainly stay here again if we come back to this area

We stayed in Orlando Cottage and cannot speak too highly of the experience. On arrival we found a welcome pack for which the owners had even taken the trouble to check for special dietary requirements. The cottage is beautifully presented, very clean and welcoming, and Sidmouth is a lovely small Devon town and which has a delightful theatre - well worth a visit. We plan to return hopefully later this year.

We appreciated the personal welcome (and the warm scones!) from Chris and Ellen on our arrival.
We were very happy with our accommodation....spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. There was designated parking and the bonus of on-site EV charging. With the sun shining all week, it was a very enjoyable short break.

We stayed in Orlando for a long weekend at the end of March. We found the property in excellent condition - it was so clean and everything had been lovingly prepared. We also had a welcome pack which was carefully tailored to our dietary requirements.
Chris and Ellen and their family were so kind an helpful. We also had an electric vehicle which we could charge on site which was immensely useful for our trip.
