We were delighted with the property itself, which is spacious, tasteful and interesting- we loved the books! Having two lavatories and two wash basins is very civilised.

Our only reservation was with some of the kitchen equipment. The cooker is somewhat antiquated: the control knobs are no longer clearly marked, and the oven door is difficult to open. We were also disappointed that there is no dishwasher. It’s a shame to spend holiday time doing the washing up!

Despite this, we very much hope to return.

It is a real privilege to be able to stay at Red Studio. The little house feels very much part of Britten’s home. We particularly appreciated the opportunity to tour parts of The Red House that are not always open. As a holiday property, it had all the amenities we needed, though it is fairly plainly equipped. Beds very comfortable.

Just the perfect place to spend a few days away from the cares of everyday life - quiet and comfortable yet within easy distance of a bustling Aldeburgh in August. Buy a book from the Aldeburgh Bookshop and read it in the garden.

We had a very comfortable stay. Would have been good to have a freezer for ice cubes. There was a good selection of books to read about Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. Red House tour was a wonderful experience. Thank you.

We had a very nice stay at the Red House, inside of the house was tidy and clean, outside could do with a little TLC, a good base for visiting Suffolk
