The Butler's Flat at Solsgirth Home Farm is a luxury flat converted from former servant’s quarters at a country house, sleeping two guests. Located on the ground floor, it’s a cosy space for relaxing, with access to footpaths around the working farm, working farm, which features rhea, emu and llama, as well as traditional pig, cattle and sheep breeds. A short drive away are fantastic walks in the hills or along the coast, with several Scottish cities within one hour’s drive.

We found this lovely place when we were searching for something out of the main tourist areas. Boy, did we hit the jack-pot!

This place is beautiful and quiet, so we were able to really rest after each day trip. Since this flat is just below the owner, we didn't have to ever worry about noisy neighbors! Plus that, it's close enough to drive to many places for day trips, including Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and St. Andrews. We visited many castles that were all an hour or less away!

The flat is beautifully done: simple and tasteful. The quality of the craftmanship is evident throughout the space. The kitchen has what you need to make your own meals, and the appliances are all new-ish, making us feel right at home in a quality space. The living room is spacious yet cozy, as are the bedroom and bathroom. It was a perfect size for the two of us.

In addition to supplying us with a nice "Welcome Basket" filled with some wine, jam, and soaps, Jan took us on a short tour and introduced us to her sweet farm animals. We also met the gentleman who has a coffee shop there, where he roasts the beans! We were able to purchase enough for our entire stay, and he made up packets so we would have a separate one for each day's coffee pot.

We were absolutely delighted with the Butler's Flat, and if we ever get the chance to come back to Scotland, this would be our first choice for our stay!

We stayed in the Butler's Flat on Jan's property for 5 days. The flat was exactly as described. It was immaculately clean, spacious, quiet, and parking was provided. The tour of Jan's farm was fun, educational, and at times, hands-on. We had the opportunity to feed baby lambs and pet/fed the Highland Cows. It should be noted that the property is also near the city of Stirling, which has a train to both Glasgow and Edinburgh, should you want to visit the larger cities. The Highlands are also not too far of a drive from the property. You'll essentially be between the Highlands and the two larger cities. On the weekend that we stayed on the property, Jan and the farm hosted a lovely farmer's market with all local businesses, which was a great joy. We were able to purchase locally made products from local vendors right on-site, which was not only convenient but a delight. We would go back to stay at Jan's property in a heartbeat. We had a fantastic time from start to finish.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Solsgirth. Jan was very welcoming and super helpful. The Butler's Flat was ideal, well equipped, warm, clean, nicely decorated & very quiet. An ideal location for us for walking and exploring the area.
We loved our Farm Tour & feeding the animals. Their produce is of an excellent quality & we brought some home with us. We also enjoyed their super coffee and cake at their Ochil Coffee Roastery. And took some coffee home too!
We highly recommend staying at Solsgirth & their produce. WE WILL be back!

My. Family and friends ( 15 in total ) stayed at three of the properties at Solsgirth Farm over a recent weekend. The properties were outstanding and beautifully furnished, comfortable beyond words. Jan and the team were helpful and nothing was too much trouble, even putting an extra table in the Farm house so we could eat evening meals together. The Farm tour was a highlight of the weekend as we were able to meet newly born lambs , piglets and of course the highland cows! We all would highly recommend a stay at Solsgirth.

Thank you and your staff so much for everything. This was our best stay in Scotland. We really enjoyed the tour of the working farm You and Rebecca were so knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Beno was a highlight of the tour.

We loved our weekend in the Butler's Flat at Solsgirth Home Farm. The accommodation was very spacious, well presented and comfortable. The gift hamper on arrival is amazing, this is a lovely touch. Help was always on hand if needed and exploring the local area was great. All in all a fantastic farm stay!

Myself and my husband recently stayed in The Butlers Flat, which is part of the main Solsgirth House.
Solsgirth has a place our my hearts as we were married there 20 years ago when it was a wedding venue, and we also stayed in The Butlers Flat on our wedding night. We were so excited to be able to go back there and my heart skipped a beat when we drove up the drive. The flat has been completely refurbished to a very high standard with excellent fixtures and fittings and amenities, all done very sympathetically to keep in with its age. We received a lovely welcome hamper with eggs from the farm and various preserves and honey. The owner Jan gave us a tour of the farm and talked us through what they do there. She is very informative and clearly passionate about what she does. We really enjoyed the tour which is also included in the accommodation booking. The monthly farmers market was on whilst we were there too which was great. Not only have we come away with lots of lovely memories, we have also lots of lovely local goodies. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

I visited Solsgirt home farm to do a little research for my stage play about emus. I instantly fell in love with not only the emus but the entire farm experience. 11 beautiful piglets were born while I was there. They were leaping around and loving life after a day. Inspiring. The cattle are also extraordinary up close, but my main passion was for the emus, who are so chilled out and friendly. When not on the farm I enjoyed rambles in Dollar Glen and a hike up and up and up to stunning Castle Campbell, a short drive away. This was all made possible by the lady of the manor, Jan. She is an inspiring joy to be in the company of. Jan was so generous with her time for me. She loves her farm and animals and it shows. It is a great success. The lodge I stayed in was immaculate and cosy. Great fresh bread and honey from the farm too! A most lovely, fascinating and peaceful place which I would recommend a visit to everyone. Now I REALLY love emus!

Bigger than we expected; photographs do not do the flat justice. Large and comfortable bed with good size en suite. Plenty of walks especially in Ochils. Friendly host who was readily available and gave us a tour of the farm. Excellent welcoming basket of goodies. Nice place to come back to.
