Having stayed at Aonach in summer several times in the past we decided to visit in winter for a change. The house was super warm and no need for the log fire for heat - simply for a cosy evening effect. The scenery is stunning and the snow topped mountains made for some beautiful photos. Red squirrels and a badger visited the garden alongside a wonderful range of birds visiting the feeders. We enjoyed walks in every direction from the house and a day trip up to Inverness on the train from Kinguisse. It is a fantastic base for any seasonal stay in the Cairngorms - a real gem.
