This was our second time at East Neuk Orchards. Last year we stayed at The Doocot and this year at the more dog friendly Lodge. Both properties have been done to a very high standard and are immaculate ! The setting of The Lodge tucked in off the road and nestled beneath the rookery with pathways running through the woods and orchards were fantastic for walking the dog in the early morning or early evening. Interesting property and we enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the stars on the ceiling. We did, however, find the bedroom and bathroom a little lacking in storage and space to put things, eg the bedside table was very minimal. Upstairs, the kitchen area was well equipped but the sofa in the lounge area needed all the cushions we could find to make it comfortable for aging backs. We are very pleased to have stayed at the Doocot but overall think it is probably a property better suited to a lightly younger couple - we are in our high 70s.
Had a great week. House very comfortable & peaceful. Had some lovely walks around & the children loved seeing the sheep & cows. Had a lot of fun in the little garden also. Weather was pretty good also. Was central for us getting to all the little villages on the coast & had a trip to Edinburgh also. Did struggle getting a good picture on the TV though- I think the aerial might be loose. Would stay with you again if a big group of us came up.
