Well looked after and modern caravan site.
Lovely walks directly outside site and a nice fully fenced off area to let your dog off the lead, really could not ask for more.

We had a great stay at this site. It was clean well laid out and at a very good price, we will definitely stay there again.
It’s well located for plenty of iconic Scottish tourist attractions such as the Kelpies, the Falkirk wheel, the Royal yacht and Stirling Castle, just to mention a few.
The pitch sizes were generous and very tidy and the toilet and showers were kept very clean. we also received a warm welcome on arrival.

Our first visit and what a surprise, a hidden gem on a farm surrounded by fields.
Peace and tranquility with all mod cons, everything spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout.
We were sent a pitch number by email, so it's arrive and set up, no booking in etc, a quick visit from the owner to check all ok and that's it.
Best site we've been on for quite some time!

We have stayed here in our motorhome on a couple of occasions without disappointment, once was for one night, en route, the other was for several days to explore the area. Clean and tidy facilities and grounds, good value. We are made welcome and would definitely recommend Highland Gateway.

Stopped over here for 1 night. Good sized level hard standing pitches. We had Electric hook up £34. 2 x Toilets and showers were clean, Nice hot shower. Secure dog area at bottom of the site & good dog walks on the public right of way.

This family owned farm based site is a credit too its owners, who love and care for it.
From the cute but highly function shed shower to the immaculately laid out pitches everything is beautifully laid out.
The location is ideal for this wishing to visit Sterling, the Kelpies, the Wallace Memorial.
A great site with all pitches fully serviced.

The site was beautifully laid out and tidy. We loved the fact that is was a small site. We would have loved the toilets and shower to have a more permanent appeareance as this was letting the overal feeling down a bit.

The site is very clean & owner was very friendly, however we found it very hard to keep our pegs in the ground, there seems to be no clay to grip, we did use hard standing pegs, we also didn’t like that we where facing towards a lot of very tall grass and weeds, we had to peg in the front part of our awning in this & got stung with that poison ivy stuff, we booked for two nights, due to the peg situation we left after the first night as our pegs had come out due to the wind, we are new to van camping with an awning, we have decided that hard standing pitches are not for us, there was only one toilet and shower on the site, thankfully it wasn’t busy at all when we stayed, hopefully the owners upgrade the site to accommodate grass pitches and more toilet & shower facilities.

Hi, thank you for your review and rating. We’d like to clarify a few details for future guests: the campsite has three toilets and two showers on-site, the additional two toilets and one shower are located just 60 metres away on the campsite. Each facility is clearly signposted with this information. The area next to your pitch features a small, gentle slope with wild grasses and flowers, which we maintain intentionally to encourage biodiversity and support local wildlife and insect habitats. Just to reassure future guests, poison ivy does not grow in the UK. Our hardstanding areas are made of stone chips and are designed to be suitable for awnings. Clay, on the other hand, would not be a practical material for this purpose. It was indeed quite a stormy night during your stay, which may have impacted your experience. In such cases, if you decide to leave early, we really appreciate it when guests let us know, as it helps us manage the site more effectively. Thanks again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best on your future travels.

We have used this site before always clean and tidy a short trip to our sons house we leave the van on site during the day knowing it is safe and secure and return with his car in the evening,we always inform Lyn that we are parking a car on site over night

Auch das wir einen Anhänger dabei haben war kein Problem. Die Duschen und die Toiletten sind in zwei Containern untergebracht und soweit in Ordnung

This is a lovely, quiet, small site which we spent one night at. A real bonus was the dedicated, fenced off area for dogs, complete with a dog poo bin. This was so handy for us with our Labrador Lex.
There were two shower and toilet buildings which were very clean . There was also plenty of information displayed around the site .
The refuse area had bins for all the different types of rubbish and recycling.

This is a small, adults only site, 8 pitches and 2 pods, surrounded by open countryside. Online booking is straightforward and the owners are helpful and friendly. The site and facilities are all kept in good condition. There are wild flowers all around and great views across the fields to the Ochills.
I would definitely book again and recommend it.

My partner & I, along with our 2 dogs booked a last minute fully serviced hardstanding pitch for our motorhome, while on a tour of beautiful Scotland in May this year - 2025.
If you're looking for a quiet, unspoilt area with beautiful fresh air & stunning views well this is the place for you. It is literally a small piece of paradise. With no large parties of people or under 18s allowed the peace and tranquility is breathtaking.
The facilities are perfect, have everything needed, they are extremely clean & the site is professionally manicured. We will
definitely return.

This campsite is quite small so quiet but manoeuvring on site was quite difficult due to narrow paths and the presence of stakes and stones in the ground to discourage you from driving on the grass. There were an abundance of signs telling you what and what to do . If you pay for an electrical hook up we expected electricity to be provided for the duration of our one-night stay. However, there was a £5 supplement to pay after using the quota supplied. We were in a small motor home and when we woke up in the morning the electricity had been cut off. We didn’t pay an electricity supplement on any other site at which we stayed in 2 weeks.

Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us. We’re pleased you found the site peaceful, though we're sorry to hear that a few aspects didn’t meet your expectations. We understand signage can sometimes feel excessive, but many of the signs around the site are required as part of our campsite licence and health and safety regulations. Others are there as reminders of basic campsite etiquette, particularly for guests who may not have had time to read the pre-arrival information and FAQs we send with the arrival and pitch number emails. As for the electricity: the nightly pitch fee includes £5 of electric usage, which is often enough for short stays. If more is needed, additional self top-up is available in £1 or £5 increments. This system helps keep pitch fees fair for all guests by allowing you to pay only for the additional electricity you may want to use. We also ask guests not to drive on the grass to protect pitches for everyone’s benefit, especially during wet weather. Markers and boundary indicators are there to help with safe positioning on arrival. Thank you again for your comments. We hope the rest of your trip was enjoyable.

I really enjoyed my stay at Highland Gateway. Booking was very straightforward, my initial enquiry via email was answered quickly and efficiently. Very clear arrival instructions made for a seamless arrival and Lynn soon popped over to make sure everything was ok.
This site is small enough to have an intimate feel, but big enough to not be on top on each other. The views from site are lovely and there is plenty to do in the local area.
The fully serviced pitches are generous and level. The facilities are comfortable and clean with everything provided for a comfortable stay.
I would definitely stay here again

I can honestly say this was one of the best sites we have stayed on small and quiet basic facilities but extremely clean if we are ever in sterling area again would definitely use again it’s close to the kelpies and Falkirk wheel they accept dogs and have a large fenced area for them to run about

We used the Highland Gateway Glamping and Caravanning site as a base to explore the Falkirk Wheel , the Kelpies and more. It was great to return to a site with beautiful views and all the required facilities after a busy day.

I recently stayed at a small campsite that was impressively clean and tidy, with nice, spotless showers. They even have a dog exercise field, which is a great facility for pet owners—though I was surprised to see it under CCTV monitoring. The site itself is quite small, but spacious pitches Signs around the site list lots of rules which felt a bit strict. Overall it’s a well-kept place with good amenities, and I’d recommend it if you’re in the area—just be prepared to follow all the rules.

Daniel, I glad you liked our little campsite, the rules are normal campsite etiquette, dogs on lead, BBQ's, open fires etc. I know I did have to ask you politely to move your gazebo from the grass to the hardstanding on your large pitch. I am sorry you were frustrated about the rule regarding the grass around pitches. We totally understand it might seem a bit strict, especially if it’s not something you’ve come across at other sites. It's a part of our site policy that we try to apply fairly and consistently to everyone. The old CCTV monitor on the dog run is not used it was for the pitstop but was replaced by a new one. Spent 4 lovely nights here after a very warm welcome. Facilities for a small site are brilliant. Many seemed to use this as a stopover on longer journeys which makes sense being a more scenic route north than the main route of A9. Great base to explore from, local walking right of way into local village / bus route so no need to drive everywhere. We were seeking a relaxing break and we certainly achieved that here. Would recommend and will definitely return.

This was a great wee site for our first outing in our mini caravan. Everything was spot on and its handy for all sorts of day trips. We have two dogs so the fully enclosed dog exercise area was a real bonus. The weather was good too, so that always helps.

A small and very well looked after site the only things I would raise are that if the single shower and toilet block are in use until we were leaving we hadn’t been aware that there were other toilets available at the top end of the site, secondly I feel that they should include on there site that you only get £5 worth of electricity per evening I hadn’t seen any reference to this before we arrived.

Ours is a small campsite with just 8 pitches, featuring a shower and toilet at one end, and two toilets and a shower at the other — only about a two-minute walk apart. We were testing our new van and were delighted that we had booked this site. Immaculately clean and warm toilet/ shower block with everything you needed supplied, as well as a sink/ washing up liquid for doing dishes etc. Site was well laid out with everything you need to hook up to electric etc. Also had a separate part to exercise the dogs. Great value for money. They look after their customers.

Easy to find if you follow the hosts instructions in the email. Highland gateway glamping is ideally located for various sightseeing in the area, for example the Kelpies, the Falkirk wheel as well as close to Falkirk itself. Great place for overnight stay or two with good facilities. Shower and toilets clean and tidy with washing up area. The dogs have a fenced off grassed area for a safe run. The pitches are also on a public Wayfair for walking to the woods, river, ect. The host Lynn is friendly and approachable and we will be back. Highly recommended for a stay with beautiful Mountain View’s.

Our only quibble with this site was the fact that we paid almost £30 per night but they limited the inclusive electricity which we have never encountered before. As it was minus 3 degrees while we were there we asked for more wattage and it cost another £4! It seemed a piffling amount to ask and create a feeling that they were being a bit greedy. The amount included was £8 worth of power, a small percentage of the overnight cost

What a marvellous little site, all of the services were neat, tidy and close at hand. Lynn was very friendly and helpful in our discussions, The dog field made our stay so worthwhile. We chose Highland Gateway as it looked remote and quiet, and it was, however we were trying to avoid firework noise which terrifies our dog. Unfortunately for us, the firework noise was loud and constant over the nights that we stayed. We will definitely return , just not at this time of year.

I have just returned from a 3 night short break stay in Scotland. I must say the Highland Glamping site was just perfect for my needs. This site immaculately kept and presented with everything you need for a short stop over. I will definitely use this site again when next I visit Scotland. The communication from Lynn concerning my stay was spot on so once arriving there I was fully at ease with the pitch allocated to me and services provided. I must say the free Internet was a bonus.

What a little gem this place is. It is just behind a farm and the lady came to make sure we were OK and our pitch was labelled for us and it was easy to park. Even though we didn’t know the area we were able to order a takeaway for delivery. Shame they couldn’t find the site for an hour but the owner came out and spoke to the disgruntled driver (thank you). Would recommend site as a stopover before you start the NC500

It's all ok , convenient campsite near the main road, but not for me. Tiny shower in a shed, it's fine, but it would've been nicer if it was a bit bigger. £32 is a bit steep to sleep in a field, when you don't need electricity or water. Place to let dogs off which is nice but quite small.

Brigitte, there are 2 showers not one as you stated, the other one is larger and not in a shed. The campsite has 8 large, fully serviced hardstanding pitches with landscaping and all surrounded by a hedge. We are a bit bemused, if not insulted, that you called it a field as there has been a lot of investment in it. It has a motorhome pit stop and black water waste disposal and is fully licenced by the council. All pitches include electric and are all priced the same. The extra £2 was for your 2 dogs as we have a fully enclosed, escape proof field they can be let loose in, I don't think it is that small but I am not sure what you are judging it against? There is a right of way from the campsite entrance which is excellent for walking dog in the countryside and woodland. This is all advertised including the price before you booked so you are able to decide if it is suitable for you or not.

Excellent place as a base for many local attractions. Really well managed.

Don’t be put off by the many signs as I discovered that I had the most peaceful two night stay since being back in the UK. I have discovered that we British often don’t get campsite etiquette ( keep your dog on your own pitch, tidy up after you use facilities and quite after bedtime). Because of the polite signs I had a great stay.
Excellent warm facilities. Cleverly angled hard standing pitches gave privacy too.

We have a really lovely break. The site is beautifully clean & quiet. Although we did not need to use the showers as we have good facilities in our van, I did use the toilet & the facilities, again were lovely & clean & well maintained.
The addition of a dog run was brilliant.
The site is perfectly placed for Edinburgh, Glasgow & surrounding areas. We belong to the National trust for Scotland & there are lots of lovely places to visit ( lots of yummy cake)

We really enjoyed staying at this brilliant little site. So quiet with great facilities all well thought-out and immaculately maintained. We were touring and consequently we could only stay one night but wished it could have been more.

All though the site is only small it has been the best one we stopped at, they have thought of everything including the dogs who enjoyed the fenced in run.
Certainly one I would recommend which is more than I can say for most others we stayed at on our journey from Wigan to Isle of Skye and back again.
They could teach some camping sites what is needed to make an enjoyable stay.
If ever up that far again would defo stop there again, thank you to to the site owners who have really done a good job.

easy to book and find. This is a perfect first night or last night if you are starting or finishing your trip near Edinburgh.
Clean and quiet, small site and 18 over (no kids) ... signs signs everywhere signs.
More signage, notes and reminders around this site than all the sites we stayed at the previous 2 weeks.

I do not like a lot of signage either and have tried to make it minimal and review it every so often. However their a a number of first time motorhome hirers, and some seasoned ones, that don't read terms and conditions or emails and I was forced to put them up at extra expense. It hugely reduces the number of times I have to repeat the same rule over and over.

We spent 3 nights with a touring caravan here. Easy access from the main road, the pitch was level, no need to using leveling blocks. All the facilities were clearly signposted. Toilet and shower rooms were spacious and kept spotless clean. There were two toilet/shower blocks so very convenient to acess.

No issues at all. highly recommended pitch.

Very nice place, between Stirling and Edinburgh. Not crowded, peaceful and with nice view of the countryside around. Bathroom was clean and comfortable. The owners very friendly, they gave me plenty of instructions to reach the place. Would definitely recommend!

Very quiet campsite located just outside Falkirk. We used this site as a stop on the way to doing the NC500. Was easy to find, hosts were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of space and so peaceful, got a lovely dog walk area and picnic tables set up to use.

Great small site, well kept with excellent flat serviced pitches. Owners were very welcoming and the views from the site are lovely.
The access road is narrow but has regular passing places. Nice walks from the site and lots of places to visit close by.
The facilities are fine. Kept clean and there are enough for the pitches available.
We had a lovely stay and will return.

This wonderful, small camping ground has everything we needed. The pitches are generously sized. All installations are clean and in impeccable condition. The owner is very friendly, the site is quite. The huge power line nearby could be mentioned as the only, small drawback, if it bothers someone (it didn't bother us). We'd love to return anytime to spend some time at this beautiful place.

We had a wonderful stay at Highland Gateway Camping. Booking was easy, it was easy to find and we had a welcoming arrival. Just 5 minutes off the main road and you can’t hear any traffic, it was so peaceful to wake up a look across the fields. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. And because it’s a small site you don’t need to walk very far to anything.
There is also a seperate grass area, not for dogs, that’s perfect for throwing a blanket down and reading a book. I can’t fault the place.

An excellently kept small site with well defined markings. The communication via email before arrival informing you or your pitch number was very welcome. The grounds were kept in good order with the grass cut and plenty of shrubbery and a nice gap between the pitches. There was a communal bench area as well as a picnic/play section again very well maintained. The 3 toilets 2 showers and washing up area were all clean I would have liked the far shower/toilet block to have had a lock on the whole block rather than on the shower and toilet themselves as the changing area was a bit tight but overall we had a really pleasant stay and would recommend it to others.

A bit anxious on the single track leading to the site however, it led to a brilliant and beautifully laid out park. Great showers and WiFi. Open aspect of surrounding hills. Will definitely use again. A great stopover site too if you are travelling to or from the Highlands.

What a lovely discovery! Fantastic small site, well located for Culross and many other interesting places. The 6 pitches are very generous, with fresh water, power and grey water disposal on every one. There is a great motorhome grey water dump and a clean chemical dump point. There are spotless toilets and showers and plenty of recycling bins. The owners are really friendly and their love of the site is reflected in the quality of the pitches and facilities. The site is dog friendly and there is a nice track at the entrance for dog walks. We will put this on our list for stop-offs and short breaks.

Glad you liked the campsite. No campsite wants to put signs up, as we did when we started, however we were forced to do it as more guests than you would realise do not read the standard terms and conditions. The signs as designed to be as polite as possible, as few as possible and created to help all guests. All campsites have signs because of these reasons. We are very centrally located near the main trunk roads north and south between Glasgow and Edinburgh with many excellent tourist attractions within 30 minute drive yet set in quiet farmland. We give directions on how to find us.

The place in the middle of the fields is just great - fresh air, no noise and lovely views. The facilities must have been the cleanest ones I've ever seen in a camp and the instructions to com to the camp were impeccable. The staff was nice and helpful.

Even though we were just across the water from home, we loved being here. Great pitch sizes and slightly off line with other pitches so your not facing into each others windows. 3 toilets and 2 showers - which was more than enough . Grounds are very clean and well sign posted. Lovely walks In The countryside.

We spent 1 night here. The site is very quiet and very clean, with toilets and a small shower hut. Very original.

This was our first campsite in Scotland, or Europe. Outstanding in every respect. Everything looked brand new. The toilet and shower were the cleanest pubic facility I’ve ever visited.

The flight from the U.S. left us jet lagged. We had mechanical issues within hours of collecting our rental camper. Our phones would not work. We arrived way past business hours, discouraged, exhausted, and nursing a flu bug. Lynn and James were like the Good Samaritan of the Bible. James quickly got the camper issue sorted for us, and dear Lynn saved the day by bringing over flu medicine. These unexpected kindnesses from a proprietor are rare and wonderful. This is our first time in Europe, and our camping experience is limited to state and national parks in the U.S.. It was a joy to use the cleanest public toilet and shower I’ve ever seen. The campground is small, but laid out well, and superbly maintained. Everything looks brand new. The facility is on a farm, with woods and trails nearby, but we were too sick to enjoy them, or the other nearby attractions, like Stirling castle. If one must be sick on vacation, this was the place to do so. It was quiet and serene. A great respite, and a great testament to the character and hospitality of the Scottish people.

Just 6 pitches and 2 glamping pods, this site is QUIET. If you want peace this is the place for you. Immaculately well kept and clean. Plenty to do within easy reach. The Kelpies at night are stunning (though pick early or late in the year, as it's light late in the height of summer) The Falkirk Wheel is close too with lovely walks. Highly recommended.

We travelled in our camper not really knowing where we were going, no plan to where to stay, came across this site looked good and didn't disappoint, nice and quiet very clean, facilities very good , we do look at reviews, and some travellers expect absolute perfection, sometimes the comments don't reflect on the sites, respect the site don't leave a mess respect the rules they are there for a reason,, and you shouldn't have a problem ,

Arrived with lovely spacious pitches. 6 in total. Lynn the owner came over and asked if we was all okay. Very well kept and clean facilities. Views of the orchil mountains was really nice. Had a nice few walks down the lane and across the road down to the old distillery ruin although it’s scaffolded off as unsafe, but a nice walk with our dog still.’unfortunately the walk into Clackmannan right out of the entrance was to over grown and we couldn’t get through. We throughly enjoyed our short stop over, peaceful and relaxing. Wifi was good too. ( unfortunately you aren’t allowed to sit on the grass between pitches you must stay on your gravelled area- fire related I think ) there is a grassed area with 2 benches. And a separate quiet grassed area which is well kept but no dogs allowed in.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this site.

We were surprised at the level of care taken in this holiday park. Landscaping at the holiday park was really cute! The park is in the middle of a bunch of farming fields, so don’t expect to be “wowed” by the views. It is a perfect place to camp overnight or a place where you just want to chill and relax. I’d definitely stay again as I’m passing through!

Lyn was really helpful despite having giving us the pitch details that morning, we were exhausted on arrival and she came over to explain.
The site is clearly well looked after. There are lots of details thought through for example a nicely mown large field/space for people to sit in and read or children to play. It is a tranquil setting. I liked the lack of too much signage- it makes it look more homely. The large pods look really good with a covered area with washing lines etc. Satnav got us there easily with signs right at the end. We loved it.

Small level field with chairs and picnic bench provided.

Saved as a favourite. There isn’t much in the vicinity for wild camping and this small site is ideally situated close to the main road and motorway network While giving the feeling of being deep in the countryside.
Book online in advance as there are only 6 hook ups.
Very clean and tidy.

We spent the last night of a month-long motorhome road trip at Highland Gateway. This is a small, clean, well-organized, family-run site about a half an hour’s drive from the Edinburgh airport and in our case motor-home drop off point, so very convenient as a starting/ending point for this kind of trip. You can hear the main road in the distance but otherwise it is incredibly peaceful.

Took a while to find, very tidy stop over. Greeted by hoist, very friendly.
Parking very tight due to concrete blocks and plastic poles along roads and pitch area.
Nightmare trying to get our hard standing pegs in the ground.
Shower nice and hot but not much room to get showered and changed esp if your on the larger side.
Toilets were clean, only thing I wasn't struck on was the toilets been unisex and the toilet and sink together. Unlike other stop overs where the sinks are completely separate to the toilets. My worry is if someone flushes the toilet with the lid up, and then your washing in the sink you don't know what lying in the sink , and on the hand towels from the prev person.

Famtastic stay at this site in our camper van! It's a small, quiet site in lovely farmland with spacious gravel pitches, all the required amenities and great walks and cycling in the area.
Lynn was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. She provides you with all the info about your stay when you book and comes to greet you when you arrive. The website is also worth exploring as there's lots of helpful info like the nearest groceries, services and even takeaway that will deliver to the site. Highly recommended!

Arrived at the site and greeted by the owner who gave us some ideas of where to visit and places to walk with our dogs.
Very well kept grounds and toilets and showers were always clean. Peaceful and quiet site with well marked and spacious pitches, would definitely use again if we were in the area. The owner sends an email before you arrive giving your pitch number and directions on how to get to the site as the sat nav doesn't take you to the site.

The place was nice and calm. Lot of Space and all very clean.
The woman at the reception (they told us there was no-reception...?!) was not very friendly. The way she told us the things was a bit rude.

Yes there is no reception but there is a person on site for any questions and ensure campsite guidelines are followed, you did not follow some of the guidelines. This was relayed to yourselves in as a polite way as possible, sorry you felt that this came across as rude. It is a small campsite with no specific child play area so it is important that children are supervised by adult within the campsite.

My third visit in a year, and my first choice when in the area. A hidden gem, always peaceful, immaculately kept by the friendly site owner and with good size and well spaced van pitches.
The additional new shower unit is great although nice to see the quirky shower shed is staying too.
Never used the Glamping pods (yet) but they look ideal with the hot tubs.

We purchased a used caravan and collected it from nearby. We wanted to make the journey memorable but also needed to relax as the visit was made between 2 heavy working weeks. This campsite gave us everything we asked for.
Our van does not have any washing facilities or a toilet so these amenities were top of the list! The toilet, shower and washing up station were well appointed and spotlessly clean. Hot water was plentiful with no extra charge or annoying short term delivery of just a few seconds! With just a few pitches and the weather not being too summery meant we only shared the site with a few other vans and pod users and the peace and quiet never left us.
My only criticism would be to mention the numerous notes on every surface advising campers of the various 'don't do' whilst on the site. In the absence of a reception I imagine this is difficult to impart but would perhaps find a bullet list of 'camp code' more friendly! A pub we went in claimed that it was dog friendly; One bullet point on the doggy rules was "3 barks and you're out". We liked this for its straight and honest approach in highlighting it's very reasonable tolerance level!
We would certainly recommend this site to anyone looking for R&R surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Rachel , glad you liked our little campsite. We have a lot of foreign visits which is really good and sometimes I receive a text and when I try to reply it will not deliver and I always say to them to WhatsApp me instead. On the 3 emails I send before arrival and signs on the campsite say to use WhatsApp if having difficulty texting and a lot of guests do. Since there is no reception area, being a very small site, I do say to let me know by text or WhatsApp when you arrive and you did, and to let me know if you want to ask anything or need info and you did not ask for anything. I am unsure what more service you required.

Had a great overnight stay, it went down to 2 degrees overnight, but buying the extra kw meant we were warm and cosy and was very simple to do. The toilets were very clean and warm and close to all pitches. Great views of the Ochils, from the campsite and if we had more time the picnic area looked lovely for sitting out. This is a perfect pit stop for travelling north or south and is very conveniently located just off the motorway.

Everything was clean and the pitch was roomy. Plenty of recycling bins. The only thing was you don’t get much electricity before it runs out. It was our first visit and we were unsure of the procedure for getting more. It was seamless as it turned out but when it’s dark and nobody is about it’s a bit disconcerting. Still I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

We were looking for a couple of nights not too far from home and this ticked the box. We stayed in the lead up to Hogmanay. We had planned to stay at another site but they were closed for the winter, so we were pleased to see Highland Gateway was open and had availability. Although it is a small site with limited facilities, it has all we needed. Nice and quiet, and a fair distance from major roads. it was a well-maintained site and clean. Nice walks for the dogs and us to nearby villages. It was slightly more than we would normally spend to stay on a site of that size, but it may have been because of the time of year that we booked. You are given an electricity allowance, which we chewed though quickly as we had our heat on electric, as our gas option had failed - so we purchased more electricity to see us through. Nice, friendly owners who enjoyed explaining the history of the area. We hope to go back at some point in the near future..

We stayed here for one night on our way to Falkirk from Stafford. Lovely little site, clean toilets, well equipped pitches (fully serviced).
Even the owners were happy to help us when we had a van little difficulty in opening our gas cylinder in the Motorhome.
There is also a shower on site but it was closed for winter, this didn’t bother us as we had our own on board.

Thank you for your review and glad you liked our campsite. I have checked my booking system which records all email sent to each guest and you definitely received an email with your start electric as all guests do, as well as email on booking and one the day before you arrived, clearly stating the electric policy used on the campsite. Due to the small size of the campsite we have no reception and staff cannot be on the campsite 24/7 as there are many jobs to do. Because of this guests have the opportunity to leave in the morning without paying their additional electric used.

The only real problem was the electric situation you only get 10kw per night which would probably be fine in summer but we woke up the second morning very cold as the electric cut off through the night other than that good little site, clean and tidy.

Went to The Wheel and Kelpies and this was the best site by far close to the sites we visited.
Got there in the dark so was a little unsure of the site entrance.
Great little site for a stopover.
Very c lean and tidy.Shower block needed the heater on but otherwise a great stop.

Perfect place to expend the night and rest after a long day on the road. During our vacation on Scotland, we overnight in many places but this one was the best with no discussion. All the services you can need for your motorhome/van/caravan, hot showers, clean bathrooms, quiet in the night and close enough to the big city and the airport.

One of the reasons to stay on a campground is electricity. Load all your devices and heat up the camper while standing.
This is limited to 10kWh and will be automatically shut down. That was a mess to look, can i still heat, should we wait.

The instant buildings for shower and loos were very good, warm and clean. A lovely location for those on the way north or south. Not a location for a long stay but otherwise great. All contact on email or phone, a pity not to meet the owner at all but that may suit some! Very attractive location with a huge effort with wild flowers and convenient waste disposal and recycling which is missing at many sites. We would certainly use the site again in the future.

We were looking for a camping site with all facilities for the night before returning our camper van.
It was very convenient after several days of wild camping to have everything in close vicinity. We did not try the shower. Toilets were clean and in close walking distance to the pit.
Fresh water is available at the pit itself and at the grey water disposal with a hose.

Wow.. what a wonderful stay. Made to feel welcome from the initial enquiry to leaving the site. Site itself, was clean and surrounded by beautiful poppies and wild flower beds. At night pretty lights lit the way, to toilet and shower rooms. Although these were in reality just sheds, they were clean and had constant hot water.
additional use of wifi and added bonus.

Only downside for us it was a little out from anything. But we managed.

Definitely will return.

We loved staying at Highland Gateway campsite. We had 2 nights here. The facilities are perfect for what we needed and the site is very quiet which is ideal for a relaxing break away! The campsite is very well set up and extremely clean and well looked after.

We chose to have a few days away in Scotland with no particular goals in mind and found this site because the location was with 2:5 hours of previous stop in Northumberland ( it’s my thing). Site was a little gem, only 6 fully serviced hard standing pitches all a good size. Site was well looked after and appealing to those who appreciate nature. We made visits to Loch Lomond by car and Edinburgh by train. Ideal location with Falkirk on the doorstep. The Kelpies and Falkirk wheel close by and ultimately only 4 hours home. A definite keeper.

Down a narrow country road on a working farm, Highland Gateway, is a small, quiet motorhome site with limited facilities. Only 6 motorhome pitches and two "anthropods", the site only has 2 showers (one in a shed) and 3 toilets, however each pitch has electric hook up and the site has chemical waste disposal and grey water disposal facilities. I suppose as you're staying in a motorhome, the owners might expect you to use the facilities on board.
However, I found the site quite pleasant, surrounded by fields, which were being harvested at the time of our stay, so tractors ran back and forth along the lane into the night.
If you are planning on staying there, make sure you have all the food you need on board before you arrive, as there is no shop on site.

Lovely little site, surrounded by fields, facilities very clean, the pods with the hot tubs looked very nice but we were in our motorhome Delores, only stayed 1 night as we were making our way up to Fortrose to start our trip on the NC500, unfortunately because we arrived rather later in the day didn't really get chance to go into the nearest town & explore, basically parked up, ate a prepared meal & went to bed but then we'd travelled up from Yorkshire & stopped off to do the Kelpies tour & see the Falkirk Wheel in action so we were pretty shattered

Booked in for two night to visit local tourist attractions, great site and ideally placed for our purpose. Great location, great value for money and very quiet and well looked after pitches. The wild flower bed was a delight and the amenities were very clean and modern.
All in all I would not hesitate to recommend this site to friends and family and if we are in the area will certainly use it again.

This is a small site probably used for overnight stays and then move on to tour the area. The site grounds are very well maintained with beautiful wild flower beds. The views of the surrounding area are stunning. The facilities are 2 toilets and 1 shower, this is adequate for the size of the site. They are located inside of portable buildings. They were always kept clean and tidy. The shower was an electric fully temperature adjustable and not on a silly push button that required constant attention. We did not have a problem with the facilities at all. They are clearly shown on the website so we were not expecting any thing too elaborate. To us the fact that they were clean was more important than any thing else. If we were to stay in the area we would definatly consider returning.

A lovely little site set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The pitch lay out and sizes give a very comfortable stay. Facilities are very clean however they will benefit from the planned extra block that is planned.
A very good idea is that each pitch is given a yellow reserved sign which is a good idea for campers that are being moved regularly. We will definitely return if up in the area again in the future. Very friendly site.

Lovely site which is quite, nice small site with only 6 or 7 pitches and 2 large pods.
Free Wi-Fi
Shower and toilets very clean with a good power shower,
Could do with another shower cubicle as at the wrong time there’s a queue,
A short drive to local shops pub etc,
Good location for tourist attractions, we visited Sterling Castle, Wallace monument, Loch Lomond, etc
Some other campers just use as a stop off on the way further into Scotland.
So overall I’d recommend this site and will use it again..

I found this site when travelling to do the NC500 and only stayed one night, loved the set up, the peace, the views and friendly host, so when revisiting the area had no hesitation booking for 3 nights and using it as my base. Well laid out, good sized pitches with ehu and potable water.
Shower ( only 1 at present but 2nd looks almost ready) and toilets always immaculate as are the grounds. I am a big fan of small sites, this has 6 pitches (all hard standing so if using an awning or tent being suitable pegs) and 2 Glamping pods.
The host Lynn is always on hand and regularly walks the site.
I will certainly be back again.
I use a small campervan and annexe tent.
Quick tip - supplies available from the Co-op 5 minutes drive away.

I used this site as a one night stopover. You may need your own transport to get around because there's nothing much else in the vicinity. Although that does make for a peaceful site. Clackmannan is about 2 miles away so a good 40 minutes walk. I did not visit it during my one night stay. Facilities were good and clean. Unisex toilets are shed based but are clean and fully functional. Check in was non contactless via email and text. On arrival, I was sent a text informing me of my pitch number.

The staff are very helpful and nice. The views are lovely, pitches level with plenty space on and around pitch. Unisex Toilets and showers are very clean, with others on it way. Close by to attractions

Small site the 5 hardstanding and a couple of glamping pods. Excellent stopover travelling North (or South) next to cycle route 76, with easy ride to see the Falkirk Wheel, but also the longer loop across the Queensferry bridge.

We stayed in a motorhome for 2 nights, which wasn’t enough, could have stayed longer. Easy to find, friendly welcome and nice peaceful site with nice views of the countryside. The pitches were well spaced and easy to access. Toilets and shower were spotless. Free Wi-Fi was excellent and a welcome addition to an otherwise great little site. We will definitely be back if we are in the area. Knockhill Circuit is only 20 minutes away.

Great site, location is great to start a tour of Scotland or Knockhill Racing only 25 minutes away. Friendly welcome, and facilities were spotless. Large pitches so plenty of room to get your awning or chairs out for a drink or two or three or..
