The carriage was perfect for a few days getaway and had everything we needed and more. We were messaged in the morning providing a final instruction and confirmation of our attendance with a lovely picnic hamper made up for us including snacks and a bottle of wine. The carriage also provided utensils so we didn't need to worry when cooking or staying in for the night. The bed was comfy and good sized with the overall carriage so,e being perfect for two persons. The outdoor area is great for privacy to relax and enjoy some time away and on a clear night was fantastic to view plenty shotting stars. We were gutted we had to leave after our reservation was up.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday at The Carriage. We enjoyed the Sitooterie, toasting marshmallows over the fire pit. The Carriage was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We had a fantastic time.

I booked the carriage as a surprise for my train enthusiast husband's birthday. Safe to say, it was a very successful surprise as he jaw dropped when we arrived. Inside, the carriage was so comfortable, clean and smelled gorgeous. There were excellent appliances to use and the shower was brilliant. We enjoyed the outdoor bath on both evenings which came with cute bath bombs and bubble bath to use. We used local restaurants during our stay as recommended on the website and they did not disappoint at all. The communication before our stay was perfect, especially as I needed to change the dates of our stay after booking which was sorted with no issues at all (thank you for that!). Overall, we both loved our two nights at the carriage and would love to come again!

We stayed here for four days in May and absolutely loved it! They have done an amazing job restoring the carriage and have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The extra touches in the decor of the carriage and sitooterie, as well as the information provided for local attractions and restaurants made our stay exceptional. I would recommend The carriage to anyone who is looking for something a little unique for accommodations while they travel.

We only stayed one night, wish it had been longer. So so peaceful and relaxing. The sound of birds and rustling of trees. Fantastic bed, amazing shower, lashings of hot water, a wood burning stove… All amenities were excellent, but it was the peace and quiet it felt like being in a forest. Easy access, and spotlessly clean.

Very well equipped accommodation in the converted railway Carraige. We particularly enjoyed the shower and the lovely railway touches throughout. The weather was a bit wet/cold to fully enjoy the ‘Sitooterie’ but a lovely facility. The only observation we had was that the living room end has a bit of a draft when the wind is blowing into the end of the Carraige (the draft proofing wasn’t quite flush enough in places down the door). Recommended!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay. The renovation is totally Julie's vision and it's fantastic, it's been done to an amazing standard and they've managed to get everything you could want or need for a few days away into a small space but still retained the carriage character and everything still feels very new. A definite labour of love. The shower was particularly good and the outside bath was a really lovely touch. It's also fitted with central heating that's really easy to use so it was always really warm and cosy. Fantastic views over the loch from the front of the carriage and we enjoyed a drink sat on the old railway station taking in the scenery. The view from the local pub a 5 minute walk away was also amazing and a great place to watch the sunset. They also do a pub quiz on a Friday! It was exactly the calm, quiet weekend in the country we were hoping for. Julie and Jim were great hosts and really quick to help us with anything we needed. We also really appreciated the bits of groceries and Easter treats they left for us after a long drive. We can't wait to come back and have a drink with them at the pub!

The Carriage is unbelievable. Every luxury you could imagine. The outside space is So big ( it is huge ) , wonderful , quiet and totally screened off- with a roll top bath and a gas firepit along with beautiful lights at night and several seating areas. Loads of birds such as yellow wagtails, nuthatches, ravens and a little cheeky Robin!! The photos of the outside don't do it justice. The Carriage itself . Well what can I say. Watching the Telly on a brilliant couch with a roaring log stove and a complimentary bottle of red wine , nice crisps and tea , coffee , biscuits and milk . That was hard!! Oh and there are the views of the loch which is about 200 yards across from the carriage and easily walkable. And the bed with a giant egyptian cotton quilt!! S0 comfy. And Julie one of the owners couldn't be more helpful. There is also a great wee village store in Port Appin which is about 20 minutes drive max. Sells everything. So don't read any more reviews just GO It is brilliant Andy

We are constant travellers, always looking for something different and we certainly found it at the Carriage. It's a well constructed, different accommodation. With plenty to do outwith, lots of beautiful walks among stunning scenery. The only criticism we would have was that it was to pricey but that's a price you pay for the unusual

Where to start, the carriage was AMAZING and already looking to come back. I don’t know how many people I’ve told about the carriage and recommended staying.
We took full advantage of all the luxuries when we stayed. The outside bath whilst the sun went down was a particular highlight. The furnishings inside were to an excellent standard and your can tell the owners have invested their heart and soul into this project.
I also loved the campsite itself and we’ll look to come back next year with our motorhome.
The location is also brilliant if you like the great outdoors. We cycled one night to the Old Inn pub (the best steaks) which is only 3 miles away, not far on a bike.
Yes the pictures on your website really sells the place Bunty I was still blown away when I saw the place in the flesh! Loved every minute of it!

We were so pleased when we arrived and saw the Carriage. Everything had been well thought through and the little welcome gifts were a lovely touch and most welcome. Brilliant location especially if you love the outdoors. Great local restaurants. Would highly recommend and we will be back!
