Amateur radio is fantastic from this location, wonderful cottage, very comfortable. Took MP1 and mounted in courtyard, worked Asia, South America, Antarctic and over 100 DXCC on 35 watts. When no playing radio lots to see and do. recommend this location for anyone who wants a holiday with a mixture of rest and radio. Have already booked again
This was our 2nd stay at Dunrod, the house is beautifully situated, is very comfortable and was perfect for our multi generational family holiday which also included our 2 dogs. Copious amounts of hot water and excellent showers, really impressed with the large fluffy bath towels. Very responsive house keeper who was able to help us with a couple of issues. Excellent walks from the house and beach only a few minutes walk away. Only feedback was the laundry facilities could do with updating and a lack of an adequate outside washing line.
If you want to wake up to the sound of the woodpecker drumming and the pheasant calling instead of traffic driving past this is the place to be. The air is fresh and the surrounding green fields so calming and that's before I talk about the cottage itself which is perfectly equipped and excellently maintained. Not far from the A75 so easy to find and within easy access to shops at Kircudbright the Artist's town and for a spot of culture. Another lovely holiday in this great cottage. So peaceful and a great place for observing wildlife. Very well equipped and a lovely garden to sit out when the sun shines.
