We drove straight here after flying directly from Australia, so it was nice to have David meet us when we arrived and show us around. They'd thoughtfully provided breakfast things for us (eggs, sourdough, butter, local honey, tea/coffee, milk, cereal, etc). Storm Bert hit when we were there, and briefly knocked out power and internet to the village - but we were kept up to date with events by the owners throughout. We used the place to recover from jetlag, and as a jumping off point to the Tank Museum (Bovington), Salisbury, and Stonehenge. Owners were fonts of local knowledge, and happy to offer tips and suggestions.
There is public transport to the village, but you'd really need your own wheels to get around.
Steepish stairs to get up to the main living area and bedrooms - but fine even for the one of us with a dickey knee.
Full kitchen, so easy to cater for ourselves. There are possibly quite exciting changes ahead, in terms of catering.

Our long weekend at the Garret was all we could have hoped for and more.
The many personal touches were so well thought out & very gratefully received.
The property was beautifully furnished, comfortable & had everything & more that we needed for our stay.
The setting is stunning & the welcome we received from Jossi & David was the best we have ever had.
Cannot thank them enough & we so look forward to returning to try out the Cowshed next with an addition to our group who uses a wheelchair. Jossi was kind enough to show us around & it seems absolutely perfect, so week thought out for any wheelchair users needs.

We (young family of four from Switzerland) were immediately blown away after the first step we took into this absolutely beautifully renovated cottage! This was our last (and without exaggeration the best) cottage we stayed in after our 3 weeks travel through South Devon and Cornwall. It is located in a pretty little village on a farm with lots of history. Jossi and David where unbelievably helpful and friendly - they really made us feel at home and wanting to stay even longer.
12/10 would recommend this place to my closest family and friends - and we'd love to come back another time soon!

We stayed at the Garret for four nights and enjoyed excellent well-equipped and comfortable accommodation (two double bedrooms) in a lovely tranquil and quiet village setting. Lots of interesting walks directly from the front door, with also many nearby places to visit by car, notably Tisbury and Salisbury. Jossi and David are especially welcoming and generous hosts. We intend to return.

A really great place for a break with horse and dog. Accommodation for humans and animals was excellent with everything provided. Surrounding area had lovely walks/rides and plenty of other places of interest when not out with horse and dog. Plenty of choice for eating out daytime or evening. Would highly recommend and very friendly and helpful
hosts.

We had a fantastic time thank you David and Jossi. Beautifully renovated accommodation with plenty of attention to detail. A modern but respectful renovation of a historic yard. Very high quality accommodation for us tastefully decorated. Tiberius and Monty enjoyed large traditional stables over looking a cobbled courtyard. The weather was not kind to us so hacking was limited but the fantastic enormous arena had everything you and your horse could ever want. We had a lot of fun.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Garret! It is a beautiful space, and so thoughtfully done. We really appreciated all the care that's gone into the apartment, the well-stocked kitchen, the delicious goodies from the farm. Our kids loved it so much--particularly getting to hold the baby chicks! The surrounding area was peaceful and picturesque, and we ate very well from various nearby pubs, bakeries etc. We found the bed in the orange bedroom a tiny bit wonky and uncomfortable. But that didn't detract from an absolutely brilliant holiday: thank you so much. We'd love to return.

Great location and very comfortable accommodation. Newly refurbished so everything clean and new. No horrible second hand or cheap tat that some holiday rentals can be furnished with. Bright and airy inside. Very responsive hosts; quick to answer any query. Great location with many places to visit in the area. Salisbury cathedral and city in one direction, Shaftesbury in the opposite direction with its famous Gold Hill (Hovis advert) and plenty in between/further afield.

Booked for couple of days by chance really as quite late notice. The Garrett was perfect for children and dogs. Lots for children to do and field for dogs. We are breakfast in the field on sunny morning and has barbecue for guest use too. Very quiet and comfortable perfect location for Stonehenge. Lots of locally produced and eco friendly products. The hosts had thought of everything. Would love to stay again and highly recommend.
