Birds’ Nest is located on the beautiful Carrick Bay, close to Gatehouse of Fleet, in Dumfries and Galloway. The bay itself is a 2-minute walk from the door and with its gently-sloping beach and sheltered location.

We have done our best to combine traditional furnishings with modern, designer lighting and a coastal-inspired colour-scheme, to create a place that feels like home as soon as you step through the door.

Ive had the pleasure of staying at Birds Nest.
From the minute I arrived to the minute I left I was at home. It’s such a peaceful part of the world and the cottage is so homely and cosy providing everything I needed whilst I was staying there. If you need time away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you,
I especially enjoyed my dips in the sea and the walking in such beautiful surroundings. A big thank you to Margaret and Mike for being two of the kindest people I know and genuinely want you to have a good time.

From the moment we walked through the door to this amazing place we had the best time
Beautiful furniture amazingly comfortable and so peaceful and clean

Right on the coast with most wonderful views and quietness

We relaxed and read books took little walks to the beach and the amazing viewpoint and just took time for ourselves

Visit this cottage and you will have the most amazing experience

A lovely little treasure that caters for the needs of its visitors. Very well equipped so great to make food.
Coffee machine can be a little fiddly.
Road at end is undeveloped but most cars can tackle this. Compensation is staying so close to coastline
Lots of extra information in cottage to help with stay

Birds nest is such a lovely place. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay and is in the most stunning location. Didn't want to leave!
