Tucked behind the main street.it provided a great starting point for exploring the main street ( loved Bonnies, a down to earth quality cafe ) and the hills surrounding this small town

Do not miss out on the excellent and very welcoming leisure centre

Very convenient location for Hadrian's Wall and beautiful countryside, with shops and pubs only a short walk away. The house was well equipped and clean. The showers were good. The only drawback was the bedroom curtains let in a lot of light.

Enjoyed our long weekend at The Old Courthouse .

Positives - Location in relation to the High Street , large airy bedrooms , lots of off street parking nearby , communication with Pennine and owners was excellent. Good value for the price . Great for Hadrian’s Wall .

Negative - combined under counter type fridge/freezer we managed for a weekend but feel it could be a struggle to hold a big shop if staying a week , I’d recommend you check in before shopping ( Sainsburys really nearby ) and suss out the space .

Kitchen is a one person kitchen but is as per the photo .

Outside space area disappointing . Back yard is private ( as per photo ) but the property is next to a social club , so not the nicest outside the back gate … beer kegs , smashed glass , lots of overflowing bins . On the plus side listening in to drunk conversations is interesting as they don’t know your sat behind the fence .

Every thing we needed in cottage. Good size lounge and bedroom.
Just for cottage owners/advertisers, Cottage info pack in house does not have out of hrs phone number in it, as stated in booking info, so if anything had been wrong over our Easter break, we had no way of contacting anyone , as offices were closed & emails and messages would not have been answered until reopened after Easter.
Thankfully all was ok.
Enjoyed our stay.

This is a perfect location in a lovely and very friendly town. A wide range of places to eat. I would recommend booking restaurants out of season. The property had everything we needed and warmed up really quickly. We thought it was really good value for money. We would recommend walking up to the wall from the house. The route takes you past Sainsbury's, up to the burn (stream) and then up to the wall. The walk was reasonably easy. We had a lovely stay here.

The cottage was easy to find and the instructions were clear. The space is good, nicely set out and has all required equipment for up to four people. Sat in the outside courtyard in the evening which has pleasant lighting. The house was clean & it was nice having 2 en suite bedrooms & a downstairs toilet. Location is great for exploring the beautiful countryside, Hadrian’s Wall & other historic attractions. Pubs, cafes, shops & restaurants are all walking distance & there’s also an outdoor public pool nearby. The only things that could of been improved were the curtains which didn’t really block out any light & the bed in the first floor bedroom which seemed a little flimsy. If the bed was a bit more substantial I’d rebook in a heartbeat. Everything else was great. One other slightly random thing was coming in to find what sounded like a smoke alarm going off. Couldn’t find an emergency number in the house manual although my email was returned & it eventually went off only to bleep again at 7am for a couple of minutes.. slightly strange. Alll in all a pleasant stay.
