We booked for ourselves and our family. They were kind enough to open up the extra fourth bedroom to accommodate us .
We thought the layout was great! There are so many activities and we will be back.

We had a lovely stay in August 2024 in this property. It felt very spacious. Having the lounge and kitchen upstairs was great as you can really appreciate the views across the lake being higher up. Phone reception isn't very good unfortunately - so you have to either be outside on the balcony or on the edge of one of the downstairs bedrooms to be able to make a call. Felt like going back 15 years in this respect (brought back funny memories of phone calls on hills and random places to get reception!) but wifi was good.

Our main disappointment was that the tennis courts get booked up instantly it seems - so when we arrived mid there were only a few slots left for the full week - early morning or late at night - so we quickly booked these. Allowing people to book as many tennis slots for the full week at the start of the week doesn't seem like the best way to manage this system. Hopefully they'll implement an online booking system and/or daily limits in the future.

Such a great place though and we'd definitely return. Swimming pools were lovely (outside pool could be a bit warmer ideally) and I enjoyed the eco pool. The place didn't feel like it was overcrowded at all even though it was mid August. Lakes are lovely and gave us a good introduction to paddle boarding.

We had an extremely relaxing week on the Lower Mill Estate despite the changeable weather.  The lodge was an ideal base for walking through the nature reserve, cycling and swimming. It was very clean and comfortable and had stunning views across the lake. All of the information we recieved from Orion Holidays was clear and useful. We will definitely book with them again.

We loved everything about this property/the area and would highly recommend. The property had the ‘wow’ factor and was well equipped with everything we needed. Excellent family house but the best thing is the view and the stillness that comes with it.
It is well equipped, very comfortable and close to spa and swimming pool. Stairs not easy for those with mobility issues though.

First time we have stayed as a family on the Lower Mill Estate with 6 adults and 2 grandchildren and was very impressed with all
the facilities available together with a choice of 7 lakes to paddleboard and kayak on.
Our 5 bedroomed 3 bathroom house overlooked the Sommerford Lagoon.

This is a fantastic property and expertly managed by Orion who were absolutely faultless and made it all so easy. Direct lake access was a bonus and the house had everything that you need. Only feedback would be that the double rooms both have small double beds which isn't great if you're 6'4"!!

A lovely seven days spent here. First time at the Lower Mill Estate and will 100% be back. The house was a great location due to the view and being so close to the pools and restaurant. The lake view is stunning to wake up to and equally to watch the sun set over. We had loads of towels (really nice quality ones too) and the kitchen had everything you’d need to cook with (rare in a rental even when advertised that way.) Orion customer service is fab. We left something small at the house which they found and are returning to us - they are there if you need them and very friendly. Thank you for a lovely family escape.

A nice week away. Originally intended for a family of 5, but ended up just the two of us. Kids had better things to do. All as expected, clean & neat. Perfect chill out week.

We really enjoyed our stay at Clearwater 28 and were particularly lucky with the weather. After pointing out a few small problems with the property on arrival we relaxed to enjoy the views and accommodation. When we arrived the property was open and cleaning still being finished. It's in a excellent position with views across the lake and has everything you need for a great holiday. All the local facilities are within walking distance.

Older people staying should note that the toilets and bedrooms are all on the ground floor while living accommodation and kitchen are on the 1st floor.

Due to Covid, we cancelled all our holidays abroad and decided to do a Uk staycation. We have never visited the Cotswolds before and we were really keen and eager to explore the area and book with Orion holidays. I am quite particular about where we go and stay. We picked the specific lodge because it had a large living area so the kids could enjoy it and also use the smart TV. The views were lovely there was a little small green patch outside but we didn’t use it but would in the warmer months. Fantastic location and 5 mins to the spa, restaurant, play areas and 15 mins from Cirencester. Also handy to have a parking space outside the property especially with young kids.
Booked via Ryan holidays and the staff are great. The property itself was brilliant - clean and well-maintained I did notice a few moths, bugs in the bathrooms and spiders indoors. It was fully equipped with everything we needed including soap and toilet roll. Will definitely consider it again in the summer. Very cosy too.

Such an amazing house, set opposite the lake, so peaceful and relaxing. Loved waking up to the view of the lake, with all the ducks outside to greet us. We walked around most of the lakes nearby, these were beautiful, seeing all the wildlife. The house is fully equipped and we can’t wait to book this property again. Very spacious, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you.

Clearwater 28 is set in the beautiful lower mill estate. This large comfortable property overlooks Somerford lagoon which offers great opportunities for kayaking & paddle boarding which we took full advantage of daily, spotting heron, nesting birds & a whole host of other wildlife.
On site restaurant Ballihoo serves excellent quality food. On site spa has 2 fabulous pools Indoor & outdoor. Without question the best UK holiday experience we’ve had.

Beautiful location overlooking the lake with a lovely terrace and balcony. Very well equipped property. We hired kayaks from the Activity Hub and spent time on the lake which was great fun for all the family.
We’ll definitely be back!

Very comfortable house and lovely and warm and cosy as the weather was awful.

Perfect place to catch up with old friends, amazing view and wildlife to watch.

We found the location very central for all of us coming from different parts of the country.

This was our second trip to Clearwater 28 and although the weather was not as stunning as our previous visit we enjoyed our stay just as much. We even managed to get our Mum and dog out on the canoes, although the highlight had to be when our uncle fell off his paddle board. We cooked at the house all weekend and the found the kitchen to be fully equipped, the improvements with the new sofas and Smart TV since our last visit were appreciated.

All in all a very good base for a family weekend break.

The service from Orion was very good, especially Mark. Thank you

Lovely view and house had all the facilities . Plenty of bathrooms for number of guests . Kitchen was well stocked with utensils .
Just one negative - the sofas were tired and not comfortable and one was blocking view .
Orion staff very attentive and all needs were given attention .
We will return .

Loved loved loved this beautiful and very well equipped home. It’s more than you could wish for from the beauty of the views over looking the lake to the amazing walks and boating. The on-site restaurant is very good with excellent food and friendly staff

We did enjoy the holiday but did have some misgivings about it. Park was complicated to find your way around. Lodge was on a lake which was in accessible. Fishing was a primary reason for going there but there was only 1 lake we were allowed to fish which was a short walk away. Here there was only 1 peg to fish from but we were lucky that no one else came. A lot of weed immediately in front of us but just manageable. Shop on site was meagre to say the least.

Had 2 houses for a family catch up - worked perfectly - plenty of space for all ages.

Lovely and clean, comfortable and super for eating in.

View was amazing.

Wonderful location for a short break, with family coming from Cornwall, Manchester, London and Oxford great meeting place.

I chose this place from the internet and did have qualms about that but the service from Orion was excellent and the stay was so relaxing with a view to die for. Plenty to see and do if you wished but also happy to stay in, have barbeque drink wine and chat looking out over the lake.

A wonderful house with an amazing view. Looking at the other accommodation in the park we think Clearwater 28 has one of the best views across Somerford Lagoon. The house was comfortable, spacious and clean. Our only negatives was the size and comfort of the master bed and we couldn't get the WiFi to work, but this didn't spoil our stay. Thank you.

The location was beautiful with lovely views.
The house was comfortable and very clean.

Things to improve: hard uncomfortable pillows, I was unable to get washer dryer to dry, instructions would be useful. The towel rails didn't come on so on rainy days was difficult to dry things.

The spa was fab and we enjoyed the restaurant.
A great place for a holiday, we'll be back!

Thanks for your review and feed back which I will pass onto the owner. Pillows and mattresses are always difficult as it is very much down to personal preference so you need to go with the option that suits most people, that said, we will check them out and replace as required. There are instructions on all appliances in the property, however, we will look at producing a "summary" version to be left by the machine. The towel rails would have just needed turning on at the spur switch's.... If you had called, we could have explained that to you but will look at adding some labels to the switches so that it is clearer. I am really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Clearwater 28 and look forward to seeing you again soon.

overall the holiday was excellent the quality of the bedding could be greatly improved ripped valance put on single bed. we felt maybe a slightly larger shop selling essentials

The house was great, but the view was truly exceptional. Enjoyed being able to Kayak from in front of our house. We loved every minute, thank you!

This is the second time we have taken a break in this property. It's great to turn up safe in the knowledge that as soon as you open the front door everything will be as you expected - heating on, clean, tidy and ready just to enjoy. The views from the balcony are also great and help take you away from the hassle of a busy work environment instantly.

Well equipped, comfortable accommodation with use of swimming pool which provided entertainment at Christmas time. Balihoo restaurant was welcoming and the staff helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful short weekend break at this property and would definitely recommend it. The views over the lake are amazing and the house is clean and they have thought of almost everything you will need.

The description does explain the layout but I misread the floors so do be aware the living area is upstairs and bedrooms are downstairs. This was the only issue for us as we had my 94 year old grandmother with us and two ageing dogs, but that was my own fault for not reading the details properly! Totally understand why too as the views are so wonderful from upstairs.

If you want to eat out you'll need a designated driver unless you want to eat in the restaurant onsite which is lovely, but there is only one.

Visited Bourton-on-the-Water which is a beautiful village less than half an hour away then had a wonderful massage in the Spa, which was very clean, professional and friendly.

We hope to be going back again one day, for longer though!

Parking a slight issue as each parking space was very narrow, and became very full in the evening.

Fab location and a lovely house with stunning views over the lake. Great safe location for families.

Split level accommodation with living area on the 1st floor - with a 13 month old stair gates are essential.

Dog friendly property which was really clean and modern.

Beautiful, quite location that is developing further each time we visit.

Orion holidays made the booking process simple but efficient. Their matching of our accommodation requirements with a choice of suitable properties was very helpful. The property we selected was very well positioned and was exactly as described. We are regular visitors to the region and have confidence that we can just turn up knowing that the property will be as expected, but should any problems arise Orion will provide the back up and support without any delay.
