We went with family and shared the house, 4 adults and 4 kids. Accomodation was lovely. The only slight downside was we couldn't really see the lake but still a beautiful place.
We played tennis, went swimming, used the astro and had a game of football on the field. We also hired canoes. Unfortunately the restaurant was always fully booked, so we went off site or had a BBQ at the house. Overall a great weekend break

We had a lovely weekend staying in a comfortable, well appointed house. The surrounding lakes and walks were beautiful. The only negative we had was better signage was needed for the properties, ie HOWELLS MERE NOS 1-40 for example. It was a little difficult finding our rental even using the map provided. This DID NOT spoil our holiday though.

We stayed at the property last year with another family and we all enjoyed the break so much that we have just visited again! Loved all the facilities on site, including the spa, gym, inside and outside swimming pools and tennis courts. Would definately return.

A perfect 3 day break at Howells Mere 47, Robin Lodge. Beautiful house which was fully equipped and very comfortable. Everything was of high quality and ample space for 8 of us. Spa treatment was amazing and we made full use of the pools. Was excellent having free passes!
Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

We had a great stay - plenty of space and well equipped, comfortable accomodation in a perfect location. A particular highlight was our inaugural trip on our new kayak - which we easily walked to the nearest lake to launch. We also loved watching the ducks who came right up to our deck.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lower Mill Estate. We made good use of the tennis courts (booking sheet outside the court out every Monday morning), the wonderful spa (the house has passes) with indoor and outdoor heated pools, eco pool, steam, sauna, gym and massage treatments. It was very easy to book water sports equipment - we booked a katakanu for 2 hours which used as a family of 7 (rotating use between us as we rowed on the lake). Our family old to young all had something to do and enjoy.

The house was well equipped and generally comfortable. In terms of the rooms, there is one large master with an ensuite. This ensuite has a good shower, however it's not positioned on the wall so whilst good for washing little children, a stand up shower is not possible for an adult. The other double rooms were a bit small and it would be helpful if cupboards were kept free for storing clothes - the cleaning equipment such as mop and vacuum cleaners were in the cupboards, which is rather unhelpful as you end up having to move things around from room to room in order to be able to just put your clothes and luggage somewhere. The room with the low wooden bed really ought to be replaced, our family who slept in the room found the frame uncomfortable, mattress was fine. One of the showers (non ensuite one) had a leaky head which needs replacing. Although advertised, there are no board games. These are small gripes, as we really enjoyed our stay, the property is generally fine, I think just could be smarter and more practical with furnishings relative to the spaces.

We had a great week in the Cotswolds. We stayed as two families with young children. Plenty of space in the house for us all. Kitchen was well stocked to allowed us to cook every night. The lower mill estate is a great place to stay. Felt very safe to give the kids some freedom on their bikes. The pools are great, as was the park. Plenty of other things locally to keep us busy.

All in fairly reasonable condition apart from the wood surround bed . Kept banging shins as not a lot of room to move around it. Would suggest baths - apart from in the family bathroom - be replaced with walk in showers.

Enjoyed an excellent stay. Lodge provided all we needed. Rooms of good size & beds were very comfortable. Plenty of cleaning products available & coffee/tea/ sugar sachets were a pleasing touch. Lakeside location excellent as family members loved paddle boarding from 'our own" deck . Swimming pools were fabulous with excellent facilities. Only disappointment was a lack of shopping choices. Otherwise we had a happy & fabulous time enjoying the celebration of 2 Golden Weddings. Many thanks for the cards & proseccos.

This was my 3rd visit tot he waterpark. It is great value for money with lots to do on site. The only issue with our apartment was one of the rooms was really small and we could not regulate the radiator in one of the rooms and so it was really hot.
Apart from that - great stay and location for the money

Loved staying here - we booked this for a friend, looking for somewhere that we could all relax/chat/walk and enjoy just being together. This house perfectly fitted the bill, with the sofa set up! The location/wildlife trotting up on the patio was amazing. The house was spotless and well stocked with all you need for a long weekend.
Having 4 bathrooms was also a major plus. The property exceeded expectations for all of us, who are seasoned travellers and professionals used to staying in nice hotels.

A very well-equipped clean property with high quality appliances other than the fridge/freezer. The bedrooms on the 1st floor are tight, particularly the twin/double. Nice sociable dining/lounge area, unfortunately we could not make use of the outdoor space due to the wet weather, but this again looked a nice area. The swimming pool was overcrowded at times and changing rooms not clean although this was out of control of the property owner.

This property was perfect for our family break. It had Everything we needed for self catering. We made good use of the spa passes particularly the swimming . We really enjoy our time there.
The only down side was the single beds on the second floor would benefit from an upgrade.

A well appointed house, ideal for two families. However, bedrooms a bit small and balcony a bit of a waste of space! We could have done with another key. Also, the sliding doors at the rear were very difficult to open and close. The large sofa obstructed the route to the deck.
Overall it was a great place to stay.

We were a group of 10, 5 adults and 5 children (ranging 0-5). It was a very nice place, quite well equipped with things and pretty clean- under the sofas being an exception. It would be good to have a few more mugs in the kitchen and the patio door was very stiff to close so could do with a little oil. One suggestion we would make would be to possibly have some locks on bedroom doors. It was good to be able to hire high chairs and travel cot but stair gates would be good also.

Having use of the pool was great, really nice pools and great to have an outdoor pool in the nice weather.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at this house it is very well setup and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. A couple of the beds were a little hard for our taste but that's all subjective. As other reviews have said it is worth being aware this house is one of a small group of about 5 terraced houses, so the decking is next to others but that wasn't much of a problem. The best part of the house for us was the covered balcony off one of the bedrooms where we sat every morning for tea. If you can go during the week do the weekend was very busy. The outside pool was wonderful.

The general surface cleanliness was good but there was dust and fluff under the furniture. We had a lovely stay despite a lot of facilities not being open, but that was beyond anyone’s control. Lovely part of the country, would visit the Cotswolds again.
PS could not get the entry key code to work.

On the subject of the partition between the properties decks in that area, the partition height is regulated by the Estate so, unfortunately, the owners can't change that but they have said that they are planning to increase the planting in the dividers to provide better privacy.

We went as a family of 6 to stay for a week at this property. It was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Location was perfect, my elderly mother particularly enjoyed the balcony outside her bedroom with the hanging rattan chairs! The only thing I could say was that the bed in the master bedroom wasn’t particularly comfortable but that is probably a matter of personal test.
The service from Orion was exceptional from start to finish, even bringing us an alternative DVD player within a couple of hours of me pointing out that the one in the house didn’t seem to be working. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the Orion team and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again.
We made good use of the pool facilities during our stay.

This venue provides spacious and well-appointed accommodation in the heart of the Cotswolds. With four bedrooms and bathrooms, ample living space and a small garden area outside overlooking a lake, this is the perfect place for both family or group holidays. The house was spotless and the beds very comfortable - always a bonus!
The on-site facilities are also fantastic - with a restaurant and shop, swimming pool and spa, children's playground and tennis courts - you won't get bored. Not to mention lovely walks around scenic lakes.
Finally, being located in the heart of the Cotswolds, there are limitless things to do within easy striking distance - beautiful villages, stunning walks, historic sites and fabulous pubs / restaurants....we spent a very happy day mooching in Cirencester, followed by a second day exploring some of the picture-postcard-perfect villages.

Having stayed in the Clear Water part of the Lower Mills Estate in the preceding 5 days, we extended our stay and moved to Howells Mere to share the weekend with the other half of the family.

Firstly, the Orion Holiday team were excellent in helping us move seamlessly out of our Clear Water house, and were able to arrange for us to get into Howells Mere a little earlier.

The property is set further down the estate, and we used our bikes more for getting around, i.e. up to the football pitch or the Cafe, or Spa which was perfect. It was a nice and quiet, very clean and the perfect weekend escape with the family. Highly recommend the Lower Mill Estate and this property.

The accommodation worked when 4 of us were present. When it went up to 7 it was cramped and uncomfortable My bed was too soft and I found it either too not or too cold with only a duvet as bed cover. I certainly would not spend the amount of money again.

The site had everything we could wish for, our party covered all ages and there was something for everyone. The house and surrounding grounds was excellent. We loved the locality and were able to use the footpaths outside on many opportunities. Loved the various pools, playgrounds and cafe. One negative was that the tennis courts were booked by certain houses every day at the same time and for the full week. There was no availability at any time in the week. A better system needs to be found for fairness. A great holiday was had by all and we would be happy to book again for next year.
We took child bikes and planned to hire adult ones but did no as we felt they were far to expensive

One of our party has a allergy to animal hair. It was obvious a previous occupant had had a dog in the property.

We had a lovely week at the Cotswold Water Park very much helped by the wonderful weather (best bank holiday in 50 years). Howells Mere 47 is a nice, 3 storey, terraced house. It has everything you need for a comfortable but not luxurious holiday. However, having Artspa spa (fantastic indoor and outdoor pools and very nice treatment of rooms) passes adds that touch of luxury.
The main bedroom is delightful, large with a 5 foot bed but the other bedrooms are tiny with very, very little space around the beds - fine if you know that's what you are getting. My 6'5" son, daughter in law and 6 month baby had the large room which left my poor 6'4" husband and me in the small double. this bedroom has a lovely balcony and it would have been nice to have some chairs on it.
Kitchen equipment is plentiful and all works well.
The wood burning stove is excellent (I would return in winter just to use it).
The large sofa was great - even when there was 8 of us but it was a very tight squeeze around the dining table and there were only 6 chairs on the deck.
There is a small "pond" part of Howells Mere Lake opposite the house which is pretty and the deck has plenty of sun.

We stayed for bank holiday weekend four adults and four children. Lovely house, very comfortable. Would be better if the windows had darker shades on as it was very bright in the mornings. Parking for the second car was also a problem. We were advised there were two spaces but when we arrived only one and the second car had to be parked quite for away in the overflow at park. There isn't any phone reception so you are asked to call on arrival but this is isn't possible. The maps aren't very easy to understand and difficult to locate things. Other than that it was a relaxing holiday and we had lots of fun.
